The blue-eyed Goddess lay upon her backside, softly purring to herself as she dangled paws against her chest. She was gazing up at the stars, counting them as they flicked softly against the dark sky. She enjoyed this, being so simple and insignificant. She felt like a star herself, often; but maybe that was just her fantasy. Zimran loves the stars and sky.
She loved what she could never have.
She didn’t have wings, she couldn’t fly- but she could dream, and when she did she often dreamt of them and how lovely they all were together and apart.
Her soft pink nose wrinkled as she sighed and rolled onto her side, eyeing a blade of grass as a small bug wiggle it’s way past her line of view. Everything was perfect right now. She felt content with herself and everything around her.
Zimran was happy, but she was alone.
She missed her mate and her friend and wondered when they would return to her again.

Soft paws fell silently on the grassy earth, pale blue mane ruffling gently in the evening breeze. Restored to his full glory, his was a magnificent creature, pure white pelt brilliant under the moonlit sky, blue eyes brilliant, piercing as a hawk's. Two pairs of wings, feathers as pure as his pelt, and his full mane, blue as the clouds in the sky, gave him a powerful presence, his form appearing much larger than he actually was.
Tonight he wore a gentle expression, a soft smile on his maw, a rare spark shining in his blue eyes. Silently he approached his mate, tail flicking lightly behind him, the slight click of armor the herald of his approach.
"It is a beautiful evening, though there are more beautiful sights to gaze upon."
His smile broadened as his eyes found hers, indeed no star could compare to the creature resting quietly at his paws.

Rolling her soft eyes back as she gazed at the voice that spoke to her Zimran’s neck fur bristled as she gasped and jumped to her paws. She had almost forgotten what he looked like!- she had almost forgot his kind, loving smile, his scent. Zimran was in a daze. Griffith was back… he was himself again. He was fully grown, like how she remembered him best. Words couldn’t describe her happiness, no, not right now.
Her eyes swelled with tears as she slowly padded up to him and gazed upon his new form, taking in all his beauty and grace. He was such a sight for sore eyes. She had missed him... how she remembered him. Oh lord, she was going to faint. She felt all weak in the stomach as she slowly nuzzled herself against him, purring deeply.
She felt so weightless with him, so perfect. She could feel her cheeks burning up as she softly spoke out, in a mouse like manner.
“Oh... I have missed seeing you like this, its been so long... I never thought i'd see you again. Not like... not like this.”

He allowed himself a soft sigh, gently brushing against her, a rare echo of a purr touching his chest. It was an affectionate side that only his mate saw, the goddess he had loved from one lifetime to the next.
It had seemed cruel, so soon he had had to leave her, to begin his cycle of balance again, reborn as a cub, a shadow of the form he now returned to. He had not had the chance to explain to the gentle goddess before the time had come, and though her love had always remained as strong as his, though she had stayed through each form he took in turn, he had always seen in her eyes how difficult it had been, how she had longed for the god she had known before.
"I swear to you, I will always return."
He smiled softly, a reassuring gaze in his eyes. Whatever may come, whenever the cycle may begin again, he would never leave the goddess, always returning to rest at her side whatever form he may hold.

She felt a little shaky still and her heart pounded into her chest like a ton of bricks. She couldn’t contain her feelings around him. She needed him to know. Tears slowly rolled down her cheeks as her glossy eyes gazed at him.
“I don’t want to lose you again, I have been so lonely without you here by my side. It’s so hard to be close to you… when you’re… younger, reborn. I can’t even put myself beside you during that time, I can’t. It’s not who I fell in love with.”
She spoke out truthfully.
“And I know it’s wrong, because you are you no matter what form you are in, but… I still..”
She cried and nuzzled her face into his mane. Her tiny form curled as she fell apart right in front of him.
“I hope so.”

A quiet sigh, a single flick of his tail as he settled on his haunches at her side, unwilling to break the touch they shared at last. It had been far more difficult than he'd expected, her sadness weighing heaving on his heart, though perhaps it had been unfair to expect otherwise. And yet the fact remained, despite what either of them may wish, and though the day was not today, there would come a time to begin the cycle again. He could only hope that when the time came she would understand.
"Whatever form I may take, my spirit will always remain at your side, as yours will at mine."
A gentle smile crossed his maw, reassurance in his eyes. As Griffith must fall and live again, so too must all gods, so too must the day come when Zimran herself would perish to be reborn again, for even gods must obey the cycle of balance. Perhaps when that day came he would come to understand her as he hoped she would understand him.
But tonight was not the time for such thoughts, and the day for rebirth was far away.
"We are here now, for tonight, that is all that matters."

A soft purr rumbled within her chest as she settled herself beside him and nodded slowly, nuzzling him as she tiled her head ever-so-slowly. Her soft blue eyes narrowed as she spoke out with a mew.
“Then tonight is all that matters to me right now. What would you like to do?”
Her paws laced along one another as she sat upright and gazed at her mate with a soft smile. They were at eye level with one another, she thought it was so cute.
“I feel very uneasy, being able to be so happy again. Many gods are at war tonight, many battles are going on. Should we be allowed to be so happy and blessed?”
She wondered, frowning somewhat.

His expression was warm, soft and gentle; a look in his blue eyes than shone as they did tonight for none but the lioness who rested at his side now. It was she alone who ever knew him as he was now, and only she he felt the true warmth of the soul within.
"Even in the rage of war, there is love and peace."
Softly he raised a paw, brushing against her cheek, relishing the touch of the gentle lioness. The purr returned, warm in his chest, silent yet it seemed to consume him, as if it had longed centuries for freedom.
"Tonight, I would like nothing more, than to simply be with you."

“Really?”
She smiled weakly at his words. This seemed too sweet. Her blue eyes narrowed as she nuzzled at his chest for a moment before speaking out again.
“Then here is where I will be.”
She never wanted to leave him again, though she knew he would die and be reborn, just like she would someday- no matter what happened now, she would never be without him.
“I will always be with you.”

"As I will always be with you, through this life and the next."
A gentle contented sigh, he lowered his head, cheek brushing against hers, his chin coming to rest atop her head, mane ruffling lightly in the night breeze. She was beautiful, peaceful, the stars reflected brilliantly on her pure coat, blue eyes shining as stars themselves, on nights such as this she shone much more brilliantly than he. It was her who always brought out the best in him, the true heart within the god of balance.
It was a magnificent night, the stars vibrant in the moonless sky, unhindered by any trace of clouds. It was a perfect night, a night just for them, tonight they would only exist in each other's embrace. For this night, only the existed, the rest of the world be damned.
