It's two years today since my auntie died, and I'm still finding it difficult to cope. How do you cope with difficult times in your life?

I usually just hunker down & plod on through it all. Not that I don't throw the occasional explosive, depressive crying fit or something--it gets some of the stress out, after all.
I also tend to tell myself that whatever is stressing me out is trivial compared to what happened to one of my best friends a few years ago, when her first child died of SIDS. I've never seen people in such intense pain and anguish in my life. I'm unemployed right now, no clue what kind of job I'll manage to get next...but it seems so unimportant beside the loss of that tiny girl.

I vent my feelings by writing fanfic. You should really check out Whofic dot com.

It depends on what the situation is, but I usually just grab my journal and start writing furiously about anything and everything. I've already filled up one of those composition books in just 7 months and working on my second. And that's only because I had some time jumps. Anyways...

Writing is good for me, like it gets all my frustrations out of my head. Writing poems takes more effort, but worth it if that's your thing.

And this probably sounds strange, but crying really helps. I was really upset last year and needed a good cry, so I stuck Bicentennial Man into the DVD player, grabbed a box of tissues, and watched it. (great movie- just has some amazing sad moments for me)

I dunno what to say, really. I have slight ADD or something, because I'm always doing something with my hands, like typing or writing or anything..oh, and music is good too. I've found it very calming.

Journals relaly help, so does spilling everything to your friends, but if (like me) that's not really your scene then I find that a kind of... meditation if you like realy helps. I don't mean sitting on the ground and bending your legs at impossibly angles and humming, more... well, just lying down, clearing your mind, relaxing for a bit. Also forcing yourself to be positive, after a while it kind of becomes a habit. Distractions too... it's hard to say unfortunately, different people have different ways of coping, it really does depend on the person. *hugs* good luck
