Welcome to my first School of Dedcated Roleplayers RP Thread!
Now then, I would like to start off with a little backstory for this rp. This rp takes place in the Limestone Kingdom, which is a vast empire under the rule of an unknown royal court. I say it is unknown because this rp is not about them and it doesn't really matter because we most likely will never meet them. However, if I will include it I will be sure to adjust this post. Anyway, I would like to keep this story as free as possible. I want it centered around creativity instead of structure but I do want to remind you all that this is not based on futuristic or present time and thus focuses on ancient time. This will be a fantasy story so include your nekos, kitsune, other demons and other mythical creatures. However, there are limits which I will discuss in the rules section of this rp. For now, stick to normal forest and tavern wanderings and our merry band of travellers will be formed eventually.

Rules! First of all, do not post unless your character profile has been approved. Post your character profiles in this thread so that I can approve them without having to hunt them down on the guild and so other members can read up on your character. Second, use proper grammar and punctuation without web speak unless it is an out of character situation which must be noted with parenthesis and come after your post. Thirdly, No godmoding- this will be checked by dice rolls which I will discuss further in the fighting thread. My fourth point is keep this PG-13 and follow the T.O.S. Remember, no attitude okay? If you are upset about either being asked to edit your post, about being banned from the rp, or for being rejected because your character does not fit the theme or level of competency that I am requesting, don't flame in here. I'm no interested and neither is anyone else.

Fighting and leveling in this rp

Everything is determined by dice rolls. Stats are started with rolls of a four-sided die.

The stats are:
HP:
MP:
Strength:
Speed:
Regeneration:

As level ones, a one-sided die will determine your amount of these stats. Then certain levels are needed to advance your character. To use certain weapons you will need a certain strength score. To use magic you will need a score of twenty. Your speed determines how well you can dodge attacks when not in a prone position and the faster you move the better chance of dodging you have. Regeneration determines the amount of time it takes you to recover from battles.

You need an MP score of twenty to use any magic and each character gets one magic. Magic is of the elements Fire, Water (liquid and ice), Wind, and Earth (including plants and rock).

Magic hits automatically when the enemy is seen and cannot be used otherwise.

Fire is offensive: 2 ten-sided dice are its attack power.

Water in a liquid form is a crushing offensive move: 1 ten-sided and 1 six-sided.

Water as ice is defensive: Worth two ten-sided dice off of an attack on your character. Shield lasts only one round then shatters.

Wind is a strategic attack that both holds the enemy in a prone position for one round and hurts the enemy as well: Worth 2 six-sided die.

Earth as plants keeps enemy prone for a round without damaging.

Rock is a defensive barrier: 2 ten-sided die of damage from the character's attack. Lasts one round only.

Your character's weapons are determined by their strength score.
To have a large specialty weapon you need a strength of twenty-five.
To have a longsword and use it you need a score of twenty.
To dual wield short swords you need a score of twenty.
To wield a short sword you need a score of fifteen.
To dual wield specialty small weapons you need a score of fifteen.
To dual wield non-specialty small weapons you need a score of ten.
To wield a specialty small weapon you need a score of five.
To wield a small weapon you need a score of three.
To use natural claws (upon my permission) or any body part you need no strength score.

Specialty large weapons inflict one twenty-sided die plus 1/2 of your strength rounded up.
Longswords inflict one twenty-sided die plus 1/4 of your strength score rounded up.
Dual weilding short swords is the sum of two ten-sided die.
A short sword is one ten-sided die.
Dual wielding specialty small weapons is the sum of two six-sided die.
Dual wielding non-specialty small weapons is the sum of two four-sided die.
A specialty small weapon attacks for 1 six-sided die.
A non-specialty small weapon attacks for 1 four-sided die. (Body parts are included here.)

Dodging is added in to the character's attack roll. Your speed score is halved and rounded up if in a one-on-one fight and subtracted from the attacker's score. But if a group of attackers attacks your speed is divided by the number of attackers in the group. If more than one then the score is 1/3, if another 1/4, and so on.

Poisonous weapons must be forged by in-game blacksmiths and that takes one real time week. All poisonous weapons are of the small non-specialty type and each character can have one. The attack value of a poisonous weapon is still 1 four-sided die but poison adds an additional three points of damage for three rounds, then it wears off. Poison takes effect the round after it was inflicted. Natural claws that have poison (again, by my permission only) inflict 1 four-sided die for two rounds.

You also cannot kill a character without the permission of that character's owner. The only exception is if that character has failed to appear in over a month in which I will decide how that character was killed.

What a fight would look like and also, special attack rules which will always be discussed in-battle.

Kenji prepares to attack Shea with his non-poisonous natural claws. (You will need to mention whether or not they are poisonous or not.)

Wait for the results of the dice roll

Admin: Kenji's hit was successful for 4 points of damage.

Shea prepares to attack Kenji with his short sword.

Admin: Shea's attack missed.

As you can see, it is turn-based. Attacks are simple and do not connect. However, certain exceptions are made to this rule such as targetting.

If you declare a target the battle will look the same but attack hits are more unlikely because the dice roll to hit a certain part on the body allows for your opponent's entire speed score to register. The only exception is in a state of prone-ness in which all speed is negated. When your character is unable to move, it takes one turn to stand/become mobile again.

Otherwise, changes will be made as time progresses.

Money will be allocated at the beginning of the game via dice rolls as well. All monetary amounts will be in gold pieces. Characters are given gold based on the sum of three ten-sided dice rolls. To earn more gold to buy weapons characters must sell items that they pick up in the forest. Any foraged items are determined by the admin. Also, food is a necessity but also is considered a foraged item that does ot need to be determined by the admin. But, to order food and drinks in say, a tavern setting or an inn, it does cost gold. To rent a room for a night also costs gold.
