Weeks had passed slowly for Afritti'dogo as her abdomen grew far beyond it's normal size. There had been a day when the cubs which grew in her womb started to move, that day had been rather strange for her, though Moses had seemed simply amused that their cubs were wrtiggling about. He'd sat with his paws over her stomach for a long time, which in itself she had found amusing. Moses, though he never changed, he was still his old calculating cold self, seemed to be more sweet with her. Which she of course appreciated, though it certainly did not stop her viper like tongue.
Her moods had changed like the winds over the past few weeks, she had cried more than she ever had in her life, she had snapped and lashed out at Moses more times than she could count yet he seemed always either amused or simply un bothered by her changing seasons.
They had long stopped their journeying and searching for her mother, she could barely walk very far these days, her paws were constantly sore and swollen, she was thirsty and hungry alot too. Moses provided everything these days, she felt far too platonic to do anything herself, though she often returned to the pool to look over herself, to stand in the cool waters and releive her aching paws. Despite her blak maned mates promises that he would not leave her, taht he would protect her and their children no matter what, at each return to the glassy pool she was convinced Moses would find her appauling and walk away from her disgusted by what she had become, a rather blobby lioness.
The day had been warm and humid and the den beneath the large tree provided enough shade for them both to sleep in, already the evening was crawling in when she woke with a start. Her violet eyes flashed around searching for what had created the ache in her body. Licking her pale lips her tail lashed about in a maddened fashion. Something had huirt her, but there were no eyes any where. Turning to Moses she bit his shoulder rather roughly. "did you just kick me? wake up you great hairy..ahraghreh!" She couldn't finish her sentence, her words replaced by a growl as the pain once again shot through her youthful body. Stareing then at her stomach, her abdomen tenced then relaxed. "Moses.." She squeeked, her eyes fixed on her stomach. "Moses what do I do?"

Moses had been sleeping quite peacefully before he was bitten, awaking with a jolt before his red eyes darted around the den before staring at his mate after huffing the thick flop of black fur he called a fringe out of his line of sight.
"No I didn't kick you." He said bluntly, till her sound of pain made his ears perk atop his head and appear from underneath the cascade of black mane, before he stood up and looked over her swiftly.
Ahh...the time had come...
He quickly moved to lay behind her, placing his head over his neck as he made small soothing noises, well...as soothing as the murderous, cold hearted b*****d could be.
"It's alright...take deep breaths and push when you feel pain."

A small squeek echoed from the dark lionesses throat as she looked at Moses. His head wrapped around ehr neck, she listened to his words. "push?" she murmers her body tencing once again and a high pitched yowl echoeing from her maw as she panted. "waddyou mean push?" she snapped looking back at Moses, her eyes wider than dishplates, her tongue lolling out of her gaping mouth.
Of course her body decided to take over then a third and very powerful contraction ripped through ehr dainty frame and she bore down without any provocation. Snapping angrilly at Moses she gave an uncanny growl. Her heart raced but this first push had done nothing, clearly she needed to put a little more effort in.
Taking a deep breath she waited for the next pain, the swifter she did this he sooner it would be over. Again the gripping pain came and this time she was ready for it, pushing hard her screeching ywol echoeing through her own ears.
Looking down she pulled the first cub up to her chest, licking maddly at the tiny white and pink bundle, she bit hard through the cord which tied their first daughter to her before she nudged the tiny cub to her teasts.
Panting heavily she looked at Moses tears rolling down her cheeks, she was tired, already she felt the throws of exhaustion rolling down her body. This was not it though, her body tenced onece more and she moaned weakly.
"Moses..help.."

This world was cold!
Cold and too loud!
The little female let out a long, terrified squeak till she was picked up and cleaned by her mother, trembling slightly between the lionesses forepaw's as her little belly rumbled out in hunger.
These large creatures were so strange and noisy!
As she smelt the smell of food though, she quickly latched onto one of her mothers teats and beggining to feed.
Moses watched his first born cub curiously for a moment before staring at his mate and then licking over her forehead, trying to calm and sooth her.
He was a father...
"You're doing well Afritti, just breath deeply and think past the pain." He said softly, watching over her closely as she sat there and made sure to try and help her.

Looking to Moses weakly, she managed a smile, another contraction rolling down her body she dug her claws in to the ground. She could feel their second child moving wildly inside her, possitioning itself for the first breath of air. She held her breath for a moment and closed her eyes tightly as she pushed down hard. Her second cub came out much smoother than their first. Looking down, this bundle too was white like moses but odd spots of black as well as her own salmon marred her fur. Nipping away the umbilical cord she pulled the small cub to her chest and cleaned her throroughly, lapping life in to the tiny baby.
And then, there was nothing, the pain suddenly receeded, she could breath and hear again. She could feel Moses' breath on her shoulder and his words which she had all but ignored during this crutial birthing time came swimming to her sences.
Looking tiredly to Moses she licked his cheek in a sleepy manner, before turning her gaze to their daughters."We have daughters" she whispers, her throat husky from the effort of giving birth. She thanked whichever god was watching over them for blessing her with a small birth, she doubted she could have continued, these two little bundles had been enough effort for her. She was exhausted and she could feel her head lolling but her eyes refused to close, refused to leave the sight of hertiny babes. She had never thought about having cubs but now they were here, feeding from her, she was pretty glad she had them. They were kind of cute in a small, fluffy way.

Moses felt his chest throb with warmth, it wasn't very strong, he was still cold, callous and cruel to the very bone...but seeing his very first cubs was just amazing and he let a small, brief smile come to his muzzle before it quickly vanished.
He then licked against her muzzle once more before looking over his new children again.
Funny little things weren't they?
Cute but funny.
The little female yowled slightly as another small body joined her and she looked around blindly.
What on earth was this squirmy thing next to her!?

The second daughter was fiesty indeed. She'd entered the world ready for a fight, squirming and squeaking all over the place. She even rolled and bopped into her relative fluffball, aka her sister. Nothing seemed to make sense, and so the only response to that? More squeaking and wriggling.

Afritti moved in an uncomfortable manner as she looked down at her two wriggling daughters, truthfully she was still a little worried, even though she was tired and Moses, Moses was being, nice, she felt confused and frightenedthough it seemed at the moment that the cubs knew what to do on their own so she simply left them to it. Liolet eyes turned to her dark maned mate and she groomed lazily at his cheek. "I'm too tired to name them" She whispers turning her nose to touch each of her cubs in turn and to lap at any very damp bits in their fur. "You do it." She puurrs her lips lifting in a yawn.

Moses watched as the new mother as his cheek was cleaned by his sleepy mate before he was given to duty of naming the newest members of life and he cocked his head curiously.
What to name these little things...he sniffed over the first born, then the second, as if expecting their names to come to him through their scent before he let out a weak purr and gently nosed the first one.
"King'Ora." He said softly, then turned his nose to the second one and gently lapped over her tiny forhead.
"Mahwibidu."
The little cub, now named King'Ora, mewled loudly as she was harassed by her sister and now this huge nose that dared to interfere with her feeding!
This world was too noisy for her likings and she let out a loud squeal in protest, before returning to nurse.

Mahwibidu, as she would be referred to forever more, heard her sister's protests. Course of action? Squeak LOUDER of course. But she wasn't as frustrated with the grating tongue that licked her forhead as her sister and calmed down a little after that.

Afritti'dogo watched quietly as her usually uncareing mate touchjed each of the cubs in turn. Her body tenced slightly but she knew, deep down that Moses would never hurt anything that had come from her. She let a genuine smile crease her lips as he dubbed them their names, her deep purple eyes resting on his dark mane. Reaching out she pulls at a tuft of his hair and closes her eyes for a moment.
"Thankyou Moses for, for everything." Perhaps it was that she was tired that she didn't end this sentence with one of her usual threats, though her eyes soon came open to look down at their two daughters. "Why do they make so much noise?" she squeeked, she was tired and weak and her babes kept making rather irritable little noises. Were cubs always like this? She truthfully couldn't remember. Oh gods it hurt her head to think about it. Was she going to have to listen to these nopises constantly? She really didn't know how to deal with cubs.
Rolling her shoulders uncomfortably she turned to bury her nose in Moses' mane. Despite the fact that so far, instinct had infact taken over and releived her of the whole birthing thing, she had no ideas what to do from here on out. Okay they were feeding now but what did she do when they wern't feeding? Surely if they ate too they had to well, the food had to go some where, she really wasn't feeling very confident despite Moses' calming careing words. What ever did that squeeking mean too? Sad? Happy? Full? She so desperately wanted to just sleep and not think about these things ever but they were hers now and she had to look after them, no matter what.

Moses watched his daughters and his...mate, closely before closing his eyes as his fur was pulled, it didn't hurt, he just found it a little nostalgic to have her pull on his mane like old times and he only opened them once more to accept her thanks.
It was strange to have her thank him all of a sudden, but he accepted it with a gentle nod and a small lap over her forehead before he looked over the noisy little ones briefly, then back to her.
"They're just scared of the world around them...this is a new place, up till now they've only known the warmth and security of your womb...so now to be in a cold, bright and noisy place...they're just saying their displeaure really." He said in the usual 'matter-of-fact' tone he took in time like this and then looked over her before lowering his nose to gently nudge and purr towards his tiny daughters.
As if it would sooth them to do so.
Well, it soothed the first born to a degree as her mews muted to a small squeek as she continued to nurse alongside her little sister, paws gently pressing against her momma's tummy to increase the flow of milk.
She was a hungry little thing wasn't she?

Mahwibidu was equally soothed by their father's purring, and was content to suckle for a little while longer and then curl up beside King'ora, merely snuffling in delight.

Laying back tiredly the salmon streaked female closed her deep violet eyes. She was a mother now? Well she didn't quite know what to think of the situation but she would learn. She guessed she had to.
Leaning back against Moses she let sleep engulf her, her body mind and soul exhausted fromt he effort of the task she had just performed.
