User Image It was starting to drizzle a bit, Narcissus happened to notice this shortly after being pelted stright in the face by a drop. The jungle seemed to stay dampened but it didn't really matter. Had he been younger he might've found someone to hide under until the rain stopped. Looking up he pulled himself from the hammock he had woven. With the help of a meerkat and Leopard he'd met a few days earlier.

The vines were still nice and strong and it didn't need any patching work done to it. The adol noted as he moved, "Hm..." He looked around and then decided to head on his way for a walk, maybe towards the Waterfall. His tail flickered as he looked around. "It's quite today, I wonder where everyone dissapered off to again."

He chuckled still finding himself in a decent mood, knowing his father would be there when he was needed it didn't really matter how alone Nac could be. Ducking through the thick vines and unber brush of his little hide away he makes a quick turn to head towards the waterfall.

The coming rain did not seem to concern the pure white being who rested atop the waterfall, nor did the water splashing his paws from his chosen perch. He sat in silence, settled on a large smooth stone at the water's peek, wings folded against the chilled air, a passing ray of sunlight glinting off his helmet. There was an odd look in his brilliant blue eyes, as if his gaze had fallen on something that only he saw, perhaps something into the future.

He was a majestic creature, an air of pride and mystery about him, projected in his every being. There could be no doubt that he was a god, an ancient being who knew secrets that others could only dream of, who had seen the world grow and change with the great passage of time.

What occupied his thoughts now was known only to him, though perhaps there was one other.

Narcissus moved almost slowly, snipping off a flower as he neared where the waterfall pooled before turning to flow out of the jungle. His tail flickered as he tucked a flower behind his ear and make a quick few rings to adorn his tail.

The rain was cool and a welcomed feature to the hot and humid jungle. Atleast for today it was, but there was something ahead. He caught a glimer. "Oh?" He paused and looked towards where it had came from, the top of the waterfall? Odd, he became curious as to what this thing was that glimmered in the light was.

Of crouse he'd traveled the path enough times to not really have to watch where he was going but still even Nac had to pause and make sure he was heading in the right direction. Finally he came to where the brush parted and shown the pool below the waterfall. Looking up, towards the top he saw something. Great and white.

"Oh..." He paused looking agian, yes it was there and wasn't a dream. Did it have wings. He crept out of the brush to try and get a better look without distrubing whomever was up there. But he triped over a rock and was sent splashing into the river. Flowers floating off with the ebbing flow of the water.

"Ick.... Drowned..." He muttered struggling to get out of the water and shake off, hopeing he hadn't startled whomever it was too badly.

Ears twitched with the ruffs of his sky blue mane, eyes flicking to the source of the sound, gaze falling on the dark form splashing about in the water. It was but a slight flicker of movement, the only indication that he had noticed the creature at all, his thoughts unbroken.

He remained as he was, seated on his perch above the falls, wings ruffling in the growing breeze, a flicker in the sky reflecting off his white pelt. His form was imposing, yet somehow not intimidating, bur rather alluring, a haunting charisma radiating from his very presence. Though his stature was small, his build fine, he did not appear as such, his presence far larger than his physical size.

It silence he watched the dark creature, silently aware of it's struggle, yet aware it was in no danger. However even if it had been, it was not his nature to interfere, for where there was triumph there was defeat, and where there was life there was also death, and thus the balance was preserved.

Finally having dragged his soaking wet behind from the river he shook himself somewhat dry. "Ugh this is going to take forever to strighten out." He ended up a fluff ball of black and purple. As well as not very happy lepon.

Having been atleast drier than he was a few minutes ago he walked around the pool of water and looked up to the white and light blue figure. He pondered calling out to it and slightly wondered if it'd be mad if he'd intrupt anything.

Finally no longer able to hold his curiousity, "What you doing up there?" He asked, "That is, I've never seen anyone up there on the top of the waterfall before." Nac's black and green tail flickered as he watched the figure waiting for a reply.

Slowly the great head turned, eyes at last falling on the young creature below. His expression was soft, kind, gentle as a calming breeze, yet at the same time regal, proud, piercing as the hunting hawk.

"Then perhaps you have never looked hard enough, for there are always those we meet in unexpected places."

His voice was powerful though he had not shouted, loud enough to carry over the roar of the falls, yet with such little effort it seemed as if he had not raised his voice at all, as if the water had silenced itself at the sound of his voice.

While others may have descended, Griffith remained peacefully on his perch above the falls. While he was not opposed to the company nor did he begrudge any who approached him, he preferred the creature at least make the attempt to reach him first. For there could be no rise or fall, if the attempt was not made in the first place.

Nac has never heard such a thing, he looked at the falls and seemed almost surprized because it sounded as if whomever it was, was speaking in a normal tone. He lofted a brow as he looked around.

He'd never scaled the waterfall before, his mother would've surely killed him had he tried in his younger years. He noticed a tree that led up to a ledge. It'd get him a bit closer, he might could figure out the rest of the way to get there.

"Indeed, I may not have looked hard enough." He replied as he thought, and skittered over towards the tree, "You sort of sound like my father when it comes to unexpected places though." He admited scaling the tree and moving out along the branch, slipping for a second before jumping across and using his back feet he pulled himself onto the ledge.

"Do you mind if I ask whom you are? Er... Sir?" He was curious, for if the waterfall had quited when the stranger talked he wanted to know why. Which he also wondered if he half imanged it as well. He started looking for his next move.

His tail flicked, tufted tip dancing over the smooth rock on which he sat. He watched in silence for a time, a faint smile on his maw, perhaps pleased that the young one had taken the challenge. It was a difficult climb for one without wings, but far from impossible for a decent climber.

"I am Griffith."

Again his voice was commanding, spoken clearly despite the rush of water that surrounded him. Or perhaps it was simply that the ears to which he spoke were more eager to hear. It was not uncommon for the white god to affect others as such, or to seem to command the elements, it was a supernatural charisma, one that may have drawn others to him without them realizing how or why.

Nac looked around for his next move, jumping to the otherside of the falls would be foolish even if there seemed to be a bit quicker of a way. He looked around finding the next ledge might be within jumping distance, he pondered it.

"Nice name," Nac called over as he looked for other ways around. "Name's Narcussis." He replied even though the stranger hadn't asked, he made a leap for the next leadge judging his distance if he fell, "Oof" He huffed as his chest hit the wall, his claws hanging into the rock as he kicked himself up, with a bit of trouble until he found a root to use to steady one foot.

It was narrower than the last and proved to be a bit of a disavantage for the next ledge seemed to be hanging over him slightly. A brow lofted, now what was he to do. He thought of askin the stranger what he thought of the day, with the rain starting to drizzle harder it seemed a bit of a down pour was a threat. He looked over to the stranger, closer now he could clearly see what made the shine of light and Griffith had wings.... wait wings? Nac did a double take, "Wait.... You have wings!?" He sounded slightly startled as this find. Now he did have to get closer to the stranger, he wanted to know what Griffeth was about.

"The name is not so important as that which it represents."

Griffith, guardian, keeper of the balance, hawk of light, femto. They were all one and the same, many names give to the same being, each as varied as the forms he took in the endless cycle of the balance.

Wings ruffled, feathers caught in the growing wind, mane rustling like a great cloak as his head lowered in a single nod, his answer to the young one's question. The sky had grown dark with the coming rain, drops falling heavily to the waiting earth. Though the rains would soon be upon, the god did not seem troubled, his white pelt seeming that much more brilliant in the falling darkness.

Nac finally thought he found a way up and started scaleing to the next ledge before some of the smaller rocks started to slide, he dug his claws into the side of the cliff. Jumping back to the ledge he had come from, "Okay.... that way is out of the question..."

He looked back to Griffith catching the nod. "My father has... I think what you'd call wings but they're more like different colored feathers... You wouldn't be a god would you?" He asked curiously from his previous ledge seemingly stuck if he couldn't find a way around, he'd have to settle for sitting here talking to the fellow. He still wanted a closer look.

His head inclined once more in his silent answer, that kind yet mysterious smile on his maw. If the realization that the leopon was the offspring of a single god had surprised him, Griffith gave no indication of such, in fact it may have seemed more likely that he had known all along. Or perhaps to one so ancient, there was very little left in the world that seemed uncommon.

"Beware the climb, for it is the descent that lurks beneath."

It was true the young one had climbed a fair distance up the falls, however he might find the climb down much more difficult and more dangerous.

Nac pondered still, watching the god. Tail flickered softly, he saw the nod and smile that the god had given.

He peeked down just slightly and twitched, "Yeah that's not going to be quite fun to climb down, although stuck here unable to move up or down as well would be quite a bummer." He looked up towards the god.

This before he was looking again and then tried to peek behind the falls, didn't sometimes they have path's behind them which one could travel? He couldn't really see any answer to that, and stuck in the middle wasn't quite fun.

He pulled his head back awa from the falls, "Do you know my father Sir Griffith?" He asked and then added as an after thought, "Limbuko that is."

"I am aware of him."

An ancient among gods, there were few deities he had not encountered at least once, save for those who had come into existence during his rebirth. However as few gods cared to associate with one another, it was more often than not a simple passing familiarity with a name.

His head inclined, indicating a fair sized vine covered tree near the edge of the falls. The god of balance would not directly interfere, for each creature must fail or succeed on its own, only at times when the balance was threatened could he justify such an action. However, he was not above pointing the young creature in the right direction, from there, the leopon would have to find his own path.

Nac nodded softly thinking as he kept looking although keepin an eye on the god as well, "Ah, so you guys are just kinda like a family spread thin then?" He was kind of trying to put it in prespective for himself, the gods maynot have been a "family" so to speak but he would assume if there were more and wouldn't they all atleast have a vauge idea each other existed?

He caught the incline before he was about to look away and followed where the god had motioned to. He stopped looking at the tree. Now that was a nice sized tree, and plenty of vines, which were all very well and good. Nac moved his way over to the tree, watching his step and judging the distance.

He lept hoping if not to catch the branch he aimed for atleast the vines, for those looked strudy enough he could atleast slow his decent if such was to happen. Of crouse he came close to the branch, missing within inches of it and grabbed with his mouth the nearest vine, managing to land; chest first into a branch below the one he wanted.

He murfed and clug to the branch and after catching his breath he pulled himself onto it. "Ow, that'll be sore a couple of days." Blancing on the branch he'd just arrived to he looked around, should he go up as high as he could or should he just head down to a bit safer part of the ground. "Never knew how hard it was to climb the falls." He said looking back to the god.

He paused, "What do god do anyways? Father hasn't really said much about what he does." He was looking back towards the great white god whom stood out among the dark rainey skies. As he prowled around wondering which way would be the best to go.
