A frustrated growl rumbled in the winged stallion's throat as he galloped across the dimly-lit hillsides with no particular destination in mind, cerulean eyes narrowed into slits as ebony wings unfurled from his back. He loved his mother, he really did, but why oh why did she keep pushing him away?! He only wanted to help, couldn't she understand that? Having come home beaten bloody and with deep gashes carved into her body, he'd been worried sick, but she'd rejected his help. She was very proud, and he'd always admired that, but couldn't she tell when she needed help?
With one angry, powerful flap of those onyx-feathered wings, his heavy form lifted from the ground, soaring high into the moonlit horizon as he bayed his frustration to the night sky. His eyes closed at the gentle breeze flowing through his ebon' forelocks, sighing softly as he let the tension drain from his body. She would come around one day, he knew it... he knew her better than anyone else in the world. She wasn't heartless. She only wanted people to think she was.
Trying to forget his family troubles for the time being, Kureno directed his attention to the endless expanse of sky and stars before him, half-lidded azure hues focused on the moon. It was a peaceful night, if nothing else.
