This is the usual line. White's plan is to clamp black or play O17 next. Black 11 and 13 in the actual game is an old joseiki, not often seen nowadays.

Does white not get a much better deal out of this? Blacks stones look very heavy, and white gets good territory.

Most lines in professional games seldom lean heavily towards one side, especially at this early stage of the game. It's majorly in the midgame where the true clash of wits and skills is shown.

If you are refering to the 2nd pic....
(DW's opinion)Black has choice on expanding on the left, playing E15 directly or even tenuki (due to white's E15 weakness). To put it simply black's play can be quite varied from here on. White corner though big has many gote weaknesses.
