Last year I completely failed my NaNoWrimo with only 2000 words... sigh I can't say I was really devoted, which makes me kinda sad... My story was alright, I have to admit if I had finished it everyone who read it would think it was truely long and full of sues. Yeah this year I learnt a lot about writing and I'm going to make writing my priority for November and let everyone know, it's only one month and my friends can't hate me for it, I just hope I won't feel depressed from my own detachement (I'm like that)

This year I'll be writing my first ever Sci-Fi... It's an idea I've had last year after I read a bunch of stuff about scientific theories on aliens, and It's a bit revolutionary, nothing that would make the world change but perhaps make some people reflect, or I hope.

I don't have a thick plot planned out, and I'm hopping it won't be too short, but I know what I'm doing, unlike last year.

What about you guys, how did you do last year, and how you gonna do this year? Do you have a plot planned out?

A fear I have with NaNoWriMo is that I will get detached to my current novel, I have to say I love my story for sure but I tend to get lazy, procrastinate and all past stories have failed (I don't want to fail my novel, or my NaNoWriMo) any one think it's possible to write one thing at the same time or with something else at seperate intervals of a month or so?

Good luck! :]

As for me, last year I did well. I got a little oer 50,000 in 18 days, then completely ditched my story x3 But I also managed to convince my creative writing teacher to have it as a project, so it was actually considered "homework" for one of my classes (which was extra motivation).

This year I'm in college, so it's going to be a lot harder since I won't have as much free time as I did in high school. I hardly have a plot, and I honestly don't know well I'll do this year. All I can do is hope that I'll write 50k in time..

I got about 5500 words last year. My main problem was getting distracted. That, and every time I started to write something, I felt it was bad and deleted it. I now know that it's about quantity and not quality, so I'm gonna try harder this year. I'll keep random lines and OOC moments until after NaNo, and then if I feel like I could continue the story, I'll go back and fix things.

Good luck everyone!

This is my third year attempting this, and hopefully it will be the first year that I win, even though I'm in college and have a job.

hehe yes distractions are my worst enemy, I'm warning everyone how much of an a** im going to be this year...

I am completely overwhelemed by highschool, I'm college is overwheliming but I have sparce free time, when I'm hanging with people (I'm ashamed to have to let my social life down instead of educational razz )

What is this "social life" you speak of? Lol

This is my fourth NaNo. I failed the first, completed the second but hated the novel, and completed the third, which I love. This year, my biggest problem is work. I'm already scheduled to work the first Mon. and Tues. of Nov., and the next Fri. Plus, because I'm a substitute, I could be called in at any time. Sucks.

Good luck to you!

I always get stuck at 20 000 words. Every single time.
