Kero stared sadly at his bowl of mushed up... mush. No matter how many times he tried, he couldn't get the recipe right. Yuki made such wonderfully delicious candy meals... Usually Kero would just go 'borrow' some from him, but Yuki wasn't feeling well today... So, Kero took it upon himself to make some dinner. But after many tries with various fruit, he was about to give up hope. Grumbling a bit, he picked up the bowl and tossed it away from him, not really caring where it landed. "Fine!" He huffed childishly and crossed his paws over his chest, staring with narrow eyes at the place the bowl had landed, almost daring it to fly back at him. As if bowls could fly....

Devon was out for a stroll, which meant that he was lumbering along with a surly expression on his face, paying more attention to his thoughts than his destination. Today he was too worn out to bother climbing up onto every high object he came to and jumping off as he always did.
His train of melancholy thoughts was broken by the sound of something clattering around in front of him. He wrinkled his nose and his eyebrows lowered even further over his eyes. Some bright-colored Numa had thrown a bowl, it seemed. "Watch where yeh're flingin' t'ings," he grumbled, despite the fact that the bowl had not gone anywhere near him.

Kero jumped and spun around to meet the falcon numa, his paws raising aggressively. "Oooooooooi~ Hold it! I know kung fu!" He took a few jabs at the air, standing in a pretty ridiculous and totally not real kung fu pose.
Standing on his kind legs, small gold wings fluttering behind him, he stepped forward, karate chopping in Devon's direction.

This was not the response he had expected, to say the least. He gaped for a moment. What did this guy think he was doing? Devon threw a paw in the air, claws spread wide, but merely let it hover there, nonchalantly menacing. "Don' get any ideas, laddie."

Kero blinked at him for a moment eyeing his claws. His eyes narrowed slowly, his paws still held amusingly in the air. He stepped forward, then quickly grabbed up the large wooden spoon that he had been stirring with. With a 'AHA!' he pointed it at the birdy numa, swinging it back and forth as if it were a mighty sword. A bit of purple goo dripped onto the ground.

He hopped backward, lowering his paw and hunching his shoulders, glowering at the spoon. When the goo landed on the ground between them his eyes followed it. He blinked, perfectly still for a suspended moment. Then he smiled. "Well met! Ah surrender, sir." He held his paws up, putting a mock pleading tone in his gruff voice, giving what might have been a wink -- but might not have. "'ave mercy on a poor defenseless Numa."

The orange numa blinked as Devon suddenly gave up. With a victorious smirk he stood straiter, lowering the spoon. "Aha! Weakling! It is wise of you to give up against someone as powerful and forboding as I! Ahaa!" He tosses the spoon over his shoulder and strikes a pose, both paws resting on his hips. "And who are you, weakling?" His tone and additude was so over dramatic but it might make one wonder if he was really serious, or just joking.

"Wise, aye tha's me." He couldn't tell if this was all a joke on the other's part, but no matter; he continued the joke himself. It was entertaining to play around like that, and though his sulkiness still lurked behind the playfulness, it didn't show through. There was something about Numas who were exactly opposite his bad-tempered nature that intrigued him. Giving a little bow he said, "Ah'm Devon. An' wot d'yeh call yehr own mighty self?"

Kero seemed to be playing along as well.. Or was he really serious? He stood strait on his hind legs, his fluffy chest puffed out. He smirked and ran a paw over his armor, sweeping his hair and ears back as well. "Keroberos, master warrior and guardian. Though... you may have the honor of calling me Kero! It's much cuter and all. Just remember my real name is the mighty Keroberos! Aha!" He smirked wider, his wings fluttering a bit and the tip of his tail twitching.
