Golden tresses of her mane hit her neck gently as the sun was cascading down her soft sandy pelt.
Her golden mane was tipped in the chocolate color that matched her eyes.
Chocolate orbs were staring out into the plains, looking for nothing in particular.. But looking for something of interest.
She had had a tiring night, as her mother had kept her busy with talk of future and foals.
Marahute shook her head. A ridiculous topic. She hadnt told her mother she had been trying to concieve with another stallion named Cerek..
Esper had been trying to hook Mara up with random stallions recently, and she was shaking her head at all of them.
Keeping her pace reluctant, she stopped at the tree of which she liked to rest under on boring days like this.
"Yeeaahh.. A day this will be."
She groaned.

High overhead in the midday sky, Amary was thinking thoughts of a much mroe cheerful nature. The sun was bright, the breeze cool, and the sky a gorgeous shade of blue that made the color of her coat stand out to anyone that happened to be looking up at her. Granted, she didn't know if there was anyone actually down there, but it didn't hurt just in case there was!
At the moment, the mare was winging her way along with her usual high energy, diving and rolling and capering about in the air. She did love flight, flying, otherwise being up in the air...in fact, she'd have to say that flying was one of her favorite pastimes.
Yeah, it was good to be alive.

Keeping her head high, even though she was in a dreadful mood, she stared at the pink blob that was forming in the sky.
Her mind raced and she smiled. The only Wind Soquili she had ever met had been Guilian.. Or at least, she thought that was his name. It had been so long, when she was no more than a filly.
She smiled, happy the wind had just made her day. It was a lovely mare, of that she was sure. Graceful, and lovely.
She didnt call out, merely watched and marveled.
Her golden tail flicking, she gazed into the sky, bewitched.
Entranced.

Amary could have continued on as she was indefinitely, dipping and diving her way through the air, were it not for the slight prickling of the hair at the base of her neck the told her she was being watched. It wasn't that that knowledge bothered her, to be sure; much as she adored flight, the knowledge that she was being watched and admired as she did so was even better.
Taking that into account, the magenta mare rolled lazily over as she flew, scanning her surroundings as she did so for the watcher. Seeing no one in the air, she then cast her gaze downwards, eyes alightng on the golden mare below after only a moment of scanning. That it was a mare was obvious; even at this distance, with that body shape it could be nothing else. A regular, too...but a very pretty one, all nice and golden.
Pulling her wings in, Amary went into a dive down into the meadow, deciding that she could do with a bit of a break in her flight. This mare might be fun to talk to, after all, and that was first and foremost on her mind as she alighted a few paces away from the other mare. "Hey!"

The magenta winged mare flew through the sky with ease, and Mara knew, that the mare had felt someone staring. She instantly blushed, giving her cheeks a little color.
Oh dear, she hoped the pretty mare wouldnt be bothered by her. She just couldnt help but look at the lovely-ness of such a creature. It wasnt a lust feeling, it was.. like looking at a piece of art feeling. Magnificent.
'Hello!''
She offered, smiling a bit.
"Do forgive me for staring, but I have seen very few Winged Soquili about, and you must be one of the prettiest shades Ive ever seen in any Soquili.''
This mare seemed kind, and she couldnt wait to get to know her. Maybe Mara would have a friend that wasnt related.

"Hey, don't worry about it. Being stared at is one of the things that mares are meant to be, in my book." And Amary meant it, too; it might mark her as vain, but she was very proud of her colors, her wings, her looks; having them complimented directly and indirectly both made her day. Consequently, being stared at and vocally complimented both made the young mare puff up a bit with pride before finally remembering that she'd had a purpose. Now, what was that again?
"But thanks, all the same. You're a very lovely shade of golden, kinda like sunshine! As one gorgeous mare to another, naturally." This with a teasing wink before Amary straightened up, smoothing down her wings while giving Mara a most pleasant smile. "I'm Amary, by the way; what's your name?"

Marahute blushed again. She had never been complimented before. Her mother had every now and then, but she had never had someone not obligated to doing so, compliment her.
''Well thanks Amary. Lovely name too. My name is Marahute. But, since I see you as being one with a shortened name, my name to my friends is Mara.''
She smiled, and looked around the area.
''So do you live around here? Or are you just traveling?"

As the other mare blushed, Amary mentally noted the fact and the effect it had on adding some color to the otherwise monochrome mare. It was a nice touch, added a different 'zest' to her appearance and all that; not that the gold itself wasn't nice, but the flushed sheeks made her glow a bit...or at least seem to. She really ought to blush like that more often, it was adorable!
But beyond mentally noting such things, Amary did nothing; that was no way to start out a conversation with another mare, after all! So she grinned instead, nodding acquiesence of the other mare's introduction. "Mara it is; much easier to manage short names than long ones, in my book. My actual name is Amarantine, but I've been Amary for as long as I can remember!"
Having gotten that cleared up, she briskly moved on to address the mare's question, shaking her head to indicate the negative. "Nope, I live up in the woodlands; however, it's a gorgeous day to be out and about, so I decided to spread my wings and see what I could find. The old wanderlust, you know."

The sandy brown mare nodded.
'Fortunately, I wasnt struck with the wonderlust like my father and mother. All my teepeemates are wanderers, except for me, I dont know how that works.''
She grinned, and looked back at Amary.
''Might I ask who your father is?" She wondered, knowing it to be an odd question, but this mare looked a great deal like the only other wind she had ever met.
The black rose in her mane, the purple where he was more red on her body, and even the cardinal like markings along her face.
Ah yes, surely she knew Guilian if not related to him.

"Well, I suppose if you're happy not wandering, then it's good for you that you don't. Personally, I enjoy it; you see so many things and meet so many people this way, it's positively delightful!" And Amary truly felt so; much as she adored the serenity of the woods where she was born, there was too much allure in going where she hadn't been before to simply turn that in for the sake of a bit of stability. No thanks.
However, at Mara's next question Amary's thoughts were firmly drawn back to the current meeting, one arched brow curving upwards for a moment before a pronouncedly amused grin curved her features. She wasn't ignorant of her father's favorite pastime; after all, that pastime in reverse was HER favorite pastime. Beyond that, she knew her own resemblence to her father was striking, so taking those two facts together, she automatically jumped to the obvious (if not necesssarily correct) assumption that Mara knew her father WELL.
Though even if that was the case, it wasn't that shocking; if her father liked someone, she'd usually like talking to them, too. "My father's name is Guilian, actually; would I be correct in assuming you've met?"

''I met him as a foal, but he and my mother are really close. I think she called her brother.''
She smiled, this was crazy.

Brother? Hrm, that didn't sound like quite the usual term of endearment...perhaps Mara's mother was something out of Guilian's realm of normal mare relations. Then again, her own mother was the only one of her father's lovers that she was personally acquainted with, and the stallion Ariston the only friend. Her father always told them that it was good not to kiss and tell; consequently, she knew next to nothing about even her half-siblings' mother.
However, Mara seemed pretty sure of herself; maybe this was a way to learn a bit more about her father's past!
Though she had to admit that the last question was a bit strange. "Yes, of course; ever since the day I was born. So he knew your mother, then?" She had to assume that even if they were lovers, he wasn't Marahute's father; she looked NOTHING like him. Then again, it was possible to take entirely after one parent...hrm.

She didnt remember much of Guilian, besides the beauty of him and the way his mother adored him in her way. She smiled, nodding a bit.
''Aye, My mom did know your father. Does I mean. She met him back when she was new to the lands. She said he is a lovely stallion and that he means the world to her.''
She didnt know the Guilian had an initial attraction to Esper, along with all females really.. But if he hadnt have found that she was mated, he wouldnt have been so quick to accept the title of brother.
''So, you are related to the lovely stallion? Makes sense to me..''
She said smiling and giving a short nod.
Her golden mane landing on her sandy neck.

Yes, that sounded believeable. Guilian had a way with most mares; Amary's mother had told her about his charm and the way that he could romance numerous mares and still keep them entranced, and looking at her parents Amary could see that such was definitely the case with Luca. She could understand that Mara's mother would have felt the same draw to the stallion; he was almost magnetic, a fact that always made his daughter proud.
That pride showed in her face as she grinned at the other mare, her expression bright. "Well, I'm glad you approve. It's always nice to have notorious parents." She was teasing of course, but there was a bit of truth in her words. Her father WAS a bit well-known, at least in certain circles. "But anyway, now that we've established some sort of connection, what brings you out here today? You already said you weren't a rover, so I imagine you live near here?"

Mara smiled. Yeah, she liked this mare. She wasnt sure why, because she had a bit of vain streak, but Mara liked her just the same.
''Oh yes. I imagine that would be a treat.''
She looked around her again. At the prairie-land and plains that was beautiful and bountiful.
''I live here, yes. I was born here, and I just.. I guess i never left. Every now and then I travel to the teepee.. But I call this home.
It seemed like it was going to be a good day now.
