It was night, he little foal was playing near the river. Like always he was trying to fly. He was sad because he couldn't right now, why his hoofs didn't left the ground even a few centimeter ? He sat down in the grass, he left his family a moment, he hoped they weren't worried. Looking the night sky was his favorite activity. It was so beautiful.

Cassiopeia couldn't believe how many stars were shining this night. So many glittering up high above, it was like a wall of lights smiling back at her. Humming to herself she trotted about swishing her tail, looking for something fun to do.
Noticing a colt that shimmered like her own coat she grinned, "Hello there".
She was used to meeting up with her brothers on pretty nights like this, but this was the first time she got to meet any other foals. Oh maybe he could be her first friend.

The young colt turned his head toward the voice, he didn't heard someone coming. He almost didn't see the foal in the dark, his coat looking like the sky. It was the first time he met a mare of his age despite his sister, and she had star on her coat, like a falling star. He stood up and bowed a little like his mother learned him to do in front of girl. "Good evening" he said with his soft voice.

She beamed with such curiosity in her mirthful temperament, causing her to smile and beam as the stars do above. Nodding her head back she spoke again, "I'm Cassiopeia. Some say I'm a falling star" she replied in a soft chime. From the day she came from her basket, she was always been told with her brothers, that they were fallen stars.
Even her parents seemed to be from the stars themselves. An entire group of stars walking around far on the ground. Perhaps that's why they glittered and shined like diamonds.

"Exactly what i thought" the colt said quickly. "Sorry it come out " what bad manner he had just now. "I'm Thémis, nice to meet you". Then he looked at her, and he was surprised about the things she had on her forehead, he never saw something like that before. "Can i ask you, what is this thing on your forehead ?" It was strange for him.

She blinked with that trademark smile trying to look upward at her forehead. Neither of her brothers had one, but her mother did. Though she didn't have those neat wings like Gemini, and Lyra had neither of the two. So maybe she was special... just like mommy.
"Its a.. umm horn" she responded with a big smile back at him, "Been there ever since I was born. My mommy has a horn and wings like you do on your back. Gemini, my brother has wings too." She admired the wings still wondering herself what the horn was for. "Not sure what it does though... mommy's is really long. Hey can you fly yet?"
Watching him she wondered if he like Gemini was already off the ground.

He turned arround her, not to be impolite but because he was curious. She really looked like the sky during night. "You're really beautiful" he said without thinking. He loved the night sky so much.
"So it's an horn, it's strange, i wonder what you can do with it too. But well i guess wings are not natural too. My brother has wings like me, but not my sister, and not my father."
Then he turned completely red when the little foal asked him if he could flight. "I... can't" he whispered. "I tried many times, but my hoofs don't want to leave the ground".

She blushed in a childlike fashion when he complemented her. He himself was quite sparkly and very handsome in her wide gazing eyes. Even from birth Cassi liked anything shiny, and Themis was definitely sparkly.
"You're bright and pretty like a star in the daytime. Such a cute little reply as she chirped with a giggle.
She swayed her head side to side playfully watching him. When he mentioned he couldn't fly her mouth dropped in awe. He can't fly? But why is that so she wondered.
"Well... umm maybe its something you'll learn later," she nodded with a big smile, "Like my horn".
Lowering her head she crossed her eyes looking at the stub on her forehead. Would hers be long like mommy's too?

Thémis was happy, it was the first time someone said he was pretty like a star, it really touched him. "Thank you Cassiopeia" he said smiling gently.
He looked at his wings, for sure one day he will be able to fly, he wanted ot so much. Then he looked back at the little mare and her horn.
"Yeh i'm sure one day we will learn how to use ours... things" he laughed. "When i will fly i will be able to touch the star" he wasn't really sure about it actually. "Maybe we will know soon, i want to be adult quickly." he moved his wings like he will leave the ground as an adult. And actually he left it, but just 2cm then his hoofs went back on the grass.
He looked at Cassiopeia with big eyes. "Do you see it ?" he wondered if he just dreamt.

She beamed at him with wide eyes as he left the ground for just a moment. Soon he'd be able to fly, and yes touch the clouds and stars like her brother and mother did. Everyone was indeed special in their own little way. Even Lyra who shined like the heavens had his own sense of special magic.
"Yes! Oh you'll be in the sky soon..., I just know it!," she sang happily, her voice a little chime. He mentioned growing up, a big adult that she pondered she'd be too soon. Then just maybe her horn would be as long as mommy's.
Lowering her little head at his feet she smiled, her little necklace weaving back and forth on her neck, "Hey when you touch the stars bring me back one, kay?".
She knew she was laughing to herself on that one, but reaching for the stars was a good dream.

He jumped arround completely excited, it was the first time his foot left the ground, he flew ! not very much but it was the start. He almost jumped on Cassiopeia
"You're my lucky star Cassiopeia, i was not able to move a centimeter before i meet you. You're much better than any falling star i wished to"
He tried again, but it didn't work, maybe it was because his heart right now was not really in it.
"I promise i will bring you back a star, even if i think you will stay the most beautiful star in my eyes from now" he giggled, and continued jumping arround, moving his wings to feel the wind. He didn't really realised what he said, he just had the habit to say everything which crossed his mind.

A star! He promised her a star as her coat shined on nights when the moon was full of glittery light. She beamed with her eyes sparkling at how lucky she was to help him try and fly. For a moment she swore the little spiral on her forehead was glowing as she laughed. But, no it couldn't be that way could it? It was just a horn after all right?
Forgetting that for a moment she frolicked in her own way prancing around him giggling sweetly with a flick or two of her tail. It was a celebration that they were finding new things and having fun. Raising her head high she stepped with jovial prances and uplifted laughter.
Though the feeling her horn was warm was bothering her again. Looking cross eyed trying to get a better luck she saw another flicker of light appear. Gasping she called over to Thémis as another light appeared, "Oh do you see it? Do you see the light?," she asked with a bright smile, "I think you're a lucky star too. I've never seen my horn light up before."
Tilting her head, she lowered it to the ground and laughed with a a cute little chirp. Indeed the tiny spiral flickered with a hint of light.

The air was full of their laugh, what an amazing meeting. Themis stopped only when he heard Cassiopeia voice, he looked closely her horn like she asked and yes he saw a little light apparearing from it.
"Awesome Cassiopeia, your horn is shining, how it's possible." He approached her closerly to look better at the horn. "How are you feeling right now ? It seem it react at your laugh".
He didn't really know but he was always watching everything closely and seemed to understand things better this way. He was smiling deeply, she brought him such new discovery.

((Cassi is growing soon! ^^))
Cassiopeia looked at him with a bright smile and went cross eyed yet again giggling. There it was again, even it it was a flicker of just a little light. She was special just like her momma said alright. Gemini had wings and she could light her horn, but what could Lyra do she wondered. Maybe it was possible that they were actual stars fallen to the Earth far below. Each carrying a different special light about them.
"Umm it feels a little warm but I can't tell. Wow you're learning to fly and my horn lights up!" she giggled as it flickered back at the lighter colt in front of her. "You know... besides my brothers you're the first friend I've met so far. Will you be my friend Thémis?" she asked with a bright smile, still giggling.

Themis was really happy right now, he didn't even realised his foots were not on the ground, it was not really hight, only 1 cm but he flew.
"Maybe it mean we will grow up soon don't you think ? You being able to light your horn and me to fly. And of course i want to be your friend, you're my first friend too, besides my siblings of course." he gave her smile back.
Night always brought him happiness and it was true once again.
