Ok, so at work I'm training this guy, Kirk, on the codes for my trailer. Well, soon to be his... Starting next week. He's been around for perhaps a month now, I was training him at the start, but then it got busy, and he was in the busiest trailer loading there.

Today he was back in mine. I was told to just keep him in that trailer unless Steve needed us to do something which wouldn't be much. I was to just check the packages and let them all through, even the misorts. Especially the misorts. This way I can make sure he's checking the codes and not just relying on me to sort the packages for him.

Today was hella quiet... Figures, the day I'm doing ******** all, it's quiet. At one point, there was 2 or 3 packages, one of which was Brampton, the trailer next to us. For those, we should just put them into the other trailers chute to keep everything clean. Infact, I reminded him of this earlier with another Brampton. I kept on reminding him to do so whenever there was no packages... Yet he just stood there nodding. I eventually just kicked the packages out myself... Along with some misorts he was letting pile up. Which I told him not to do that, but yea...

Anyways, back to that Brampton. He catches it then says to me, "Why don't you just get rid of the misorts for me?" ...Excuse me? That isn't my job... My job is to make sure you're checking the packages to make sure they belong... Which in turn will help you learn which packages belong here... If I were to filter them out for you, you wouldn't even bother checking the labels, then you'll be screwed on Monday when you're in this trailer alone. Too many misorts, you're out of a job. Honestly though... If I were to be doing as he says, I could just scan for him and make things go much faster since I know what belongs there and what doesn't. I'm especially good at it, infact...

Some time goes by, and Steve asks us to sort out these envelopes, put them in bags, then place them at each trailer. Kirk goes ahead as I move a misort out of the way. When I get there, I find that he's always misorted a ton of envelopes. An easy mistake... I don't know all the cities, but really... Everything in that box were common names that anyone can know after one sitting there... Which we've done a few of. I fix them up, and he still misorts them, even though I'm correcting him. It's as though he isn't listening. Oh, that would be funny if it weren't true. stare

Everything's sorted, time to get the bags. I tell him to follow me so I can show him where the bags are. I tried doing this earlier that night, infact. This was our 2nd set of envelopes tonight. Does he follow? No... Of course not! Why do I bother? sweatdrop

I come back hoping to find him ready to place the stuff in the bags and put them where they belong. Just like we did earlier on... Do I see him? You guessed it... Hell ******** no! Where is he? In our trailer... I go up there to tell him that we need to finish what we were doing. Steve had told me once to never leave that job unfinished, unless of course he says otherwise. What does Kirk say? Oh, he's busy, the trailers getting backed up. Dude... Granted the packaged are filling up the entire set of rollers... You're not even half was through the basement... You can catch up easy at this point even without me scanning for you. A few more packages won't hurt you... Besides, if it does get jammed, I can always clear it up while he does what he does.

Now, can you guess what he says to me? He says that I should go and finish that job while he stays in the trailer scaning and loading alone. Um, dude... We're supposed to be sticking together... It's sad when I stick to this since I'm not known for my teamwork. I can work in a team, but it's not really my thing. Oh, and did I mention that not a single package in there was checked by me? I'm sure he had already loaded a few misorts before I showed up.

I quickly check the packages while trying to convince him to follow me. I come across a heavy bag full of misorts. I use it to lure him out of the trailer, saying I needed help moving it. Honestly, I could move it... But I needed something to get him out of there. He came, and right when he gets to me by the chute, who comes along? Mark... Oh wait, worse... Mark with a shitload of long iregs... He's there bitching at me to leave the chute open and telling me to load the packages. I tell him that we need to do something and to leave them there. We could take care of them later. Mark continues whining. I then decide... Ok, you know what... If I leave, Kirk will more than likely start doing as Mark says. I figured that those iregs would keep him busy long enough for me to pack and load those bags and get back to the trailer in time before he starts scanning again. My plan worked. At least something went right.

Fast foward a bit. Half of the basement is complete, a few packages show up... Maybe 8. One of those is Brampton. I let it through, Kirk looks at it for a bit, then tries hard to scan it. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing... He was scanning a package that is so obviously a misort that it shouldn't take half a second to catch... He scans it, I tell him to not throw it, he does so and I tell him it's Brampton. He goes to pick it up and says to me, "I told you that you should just take out the misorts for me." Uh... Dude... You were saying to me that I should do this because you said that "I know how to scan". You know how to scan, and you missed one of the most obvious misorts ever. Thanks for proving my point... Does he get the point though, know he seemed kinda angry that I wasn't removing misorts. Actually, there was a few that I did remove. I shouldn't have, but I did so because they were large packages that kept on coming back for the last week I swear... They were pissing me off.

In anycase... After his little bossy order, I just sat at the end of the trailer with my hood over my head. Pretty much pouting. I wasn't gonna bother with him anymore. I was still checking the packages, but I wasn't gonna waste my breath on him anymore. Not tonight... I just planned on bringing some of the issues up with Steve. Whether he wants to talk to Kirk or not, I don't really care. I do hope he at least hints to him that he should listen to me when I tell him to do something.

Now that I think about it... He hardly listened to me when he first started. However I just shrugged it off as him being nervous or something.

Moral of this 5am rant: There is a line people... Don't cross it. If you do, you may not live to regret it.
