Hi there people. I should introduce myself but my name is pretty obvious when you think about it. So what is this thread all about? To put it simply life as a foreigner in Japan. Now I know lots of questions has been asked about what Japan is like but many of these have been answered by those living in tokyo, are japanese or just went on holiday. Let me tell you this I am not living in Osaka, i'm not living in tokyo or any city that has lots of foreigners. I'm staying in a small city where you will be hard pressed to find any foreigners. So should I explain what life is like now or should I wait for you to ask questions? I think I shall wait. It makes things so much more interesting and easier on me if people ask rather then me try to wrack my brains of things to think about.

So you want to know something about Japan from a foreigners point of view? How about what it's like to be a teenage girl living in Japan? (Before you ask I AM NOT A GIRL. I found another foreigner who lives in the other town right next to where i'm staying and she's an 18 year old girl who'll be willing to answer any questions.)

So yes I don't know what else to write but ask away.

P.S I have gone to tokyo. I stayed there for two days and I didn't really like it.

Well... I'm planning to go to Japan with my sis some day, but would I have to learn to speak Japanese really well to find my way in Japan? I mean... It's like if you go to France, do you need to know how to speak French? But yeah... That's what I want to know...

Yeah, I know what you mean, I lived in a small town in Shizuoka when I was working in Japan, way different to the big cities. After that I moved to a tiny village called Nagawa in the Nagano prefecture, with a population of about 100 - 150 people, and found work as a lumberjack.

I became kinda famous in that little town, as I was the only foreigner there, and the only foreigner to come to that town in about 8 years or something. It was cool because everyone there was pretty traditional, pretty old school Japanese.
