It was a very nice day, the sun was shining and big fluffy clouds filled the sky. A good day for a walk to the mall. Bijin had just gotten his allowance and was ready to do some shopping. He decided to go alone, instead of inviting his feline friend Kinnara. He suspected since the cat was older now, he may not want to hang out with such a young Fable like him. So he put on his prettiest skirt, blouse, and shoes and headed off on his journey.
Anyone who would see him would think he was just another young girl off to spend her money on clothes and makeup. His girly style of dress and the fact he had his raven black hair up in pigtails today just added to his female appearance. He wished he had a few more friends, more than Todd-san, Kinnara-san, and Aurora-san. They were all very nice but he kinda wanted female friends. Friends who would understand his love of shopping and female clothes.

Flerida had ventured beyond the Fork In the Road. It was the first time she had dared to do so, and like what her guardian said, she will know where she will go once she gets there. And for some strange reason all the paths presented to her, all the signs and arrows lead to one place: The Mall.
Whatever that was.
Flerida had felt the pull, the tug, her talons following the trail until she arrived at this unusually tall building bustling with people. She stared, wide-eyed and a little frightened for she realized she knew not how to return home. Golden eyes scanned her surroundings, searching for a familiar face. A friendly face. Anyone that might know how to help her.

Bijin sighed happily as the giant building appeared. He almost ran to it in utter joy. Then he noticed a older girl standing by the entrance. She looked a little lost. He remembered his first trip to the mall, he felt very frightened too. But she looked too old for this to be her first time. He walked over to the winged woman, having gotten over seeing people with random animal parts long ago.
"Anou, are you ok? You seem lost."

Flerida instinctively stepped back at hearing a voice, she spun on the ball of her feet, the talons digging into the ground for balance. Her wings unfurled in case whoever it was meant her any harm, but upon seeing it was just a little girl (a familiar looking one at that), she tucked her wings back behind her sheepishly. "Um, yes, I am lost." She responded, feeling her cheeks grow warm upon realizing how silly she must look.
"You wouldn't happen to know how to get to Hameln from here, would you?" She asked.

"I sure would!" Bijin smiled brightly, but then looked at the mall. "But don't you want to go shopping first? They have super awesome stores in here! And they don't mind if you have animal parts. Since you have the pretty wings and all." He giggled a bit, his hands coming up to his mouth. "Oh! Manners. My name is Bijin." He bowed polietely, which looked strange coming from a girl but it was his culture. "What is your name? You look familiar. I think we've meet before." He put on his cute thinking face and finally remembered. "Hai! We've met before, when Rune-san was making his dam! You are Riddy."

Flerida bit back the urge to correct Bijin for calling her Riddy, but since the younger Fable was the only one who knew how to get back home, the avian teen just nodded. "Yes, I'm Riddy. Oh so that was you with the girl with bunny ears." She recalled as her head bobbed. "Shopping?" she canted her head, "Where will you go shopping? I don't see any market or bazaar anywhere nearby." The only structure Flerida saw was the towering building and to the teen it looked like a dungeon or a tower where princesses and magical creatures were kept from the days of old.

Bijin giggled. "We go shopping in the mall of course! There are a lot of stores in there that sell all sorts of things! There's also the food court where we can get lots of food! And the arcade! Come on, I'll show you!" The ever perky Fable held out his little hand to the taller female with the "I'm so excited" look on his face. He was really cute with this face, mostly because of his age.

Flerida looked a bit worried, "We go to the Maul? That, that sounds a bit dangerous..." She was about to insist that Bijin should show her the way back to Hameln this instant but found herself unable to say the words. The expression on the younger Fable's face simply made it near impossible to resist. "Al-alright I will accompany you to this maul." Though she wondered just what was going to happen. Taking the young boy's hand, which she found to be quite soft, she let him lead her around.

Bijin happily escorted the female avian into the mall, where the sights and sounds of the bustling commerical center rang about. Children played on the merry go round. Parents looked for new clothes. Teenagers hung out and laughed at each other's jokes. It was a nice place to be with everyone yet all alone at the same time. "The mall is not dangerous Riddy-san. You can buy all sorts of things here. I know! Lets get you something pretty!"
The young boy kept hold of Riddy's hand and took her to a few stores, but none had what he thought the bird girl would like. They were clothing stores, and she looked as if she already had nice clothes. Then he saw something that caught his eye. The Build-A-Bear store. It was perfect!! He drug Riddy over there. "Here you go Riddy-san, you can make your own perfect stuffed animal! You get to choose it's fur, stuff it with fluffy fluff, give it a special heart wish, then give it a name!"
Bijin demonstrated by getting something for his mother. He found a pretty white bear with blue eyes. He put a small fabric heart in it that said "A Mother's Love". Then he had the stuffing put in. Over by the computers, he named the bear Okaa-san. "See? Its fun!"

So many lights, so many colors, so much sounds it was a wonder Flerida didn't cover her ears and close her eyes from the overload of stimulation. Instead she merely squeezed Bijin's hand a little harder than she intended as the younger Fable brought her from store to store.
The realistic mannequins frightened Riddy somewhat, and she wondered whether they were real humans who had been cursed to become statues and until their curse could be broken they modeled clothes in the meantime. Or maybe they were being punished?
At the Build-A-Bear store, Flerida just watched Bijin. She give him a small smile as if trying to hide her discomfort. "These won't come to life, will they?" she whispered to him. It was evident Flerida had little exposure to modern technology.

"No, they are just for you to hug and love." He demonstrated by hugging his mother's new bear. "The only thing alive in here are the people who are shopping and the people who are selling. You seem....a little nervous Riddy-san. Is something the matter?" He blinked innocently up at the avian woman.

Flerida chewed on her lower lip, disliking how silly she must seem. She was the older of the two and should be considered the chaperone, and yet she acted as if she was the one being chaperoned. But she couldn't help it, Riddy did not like technology. "Y-yes, I'm fine. I'm just not used to seeing so many things at once."

Bijin put on his cute little "thinking face" and tried to think of something that Riddy might enjoy in the mall. Then it came to him. There was a store here that sold all sorts of little knicknacks. Most were made of stone or wood. He took Riddy's hand and went to a map to find where he needed to go. Once there he followed the path that lead up to the store. "Here we go Riddy-san. Maybe you will like this store."
The store looked like hippy heaven. Paper laterns of asian origin hung in the ceiling, beed curtains were against the walls. There was a great deal of insence and pretty stones in one area. They even sold hermit crabs near by. In fact the only real technology in here, other than the cash register, was the motorized fountains and the lightbulbs in all the lamps.
((I have a store like this in my mall, its pretty sweet))

Flerida let herself be led by the little boy, though she didn't quite know if Bijin was a boy or a girl come to think of it. When they arrived at the store, she felt herself lighten somewhat. Folding her wings behind her so as not to knock over anything, she went inside. A small smile crept across her lips as she eyed the assorted things on display. "These are very pretty." she whispered to Bijin, as if afraid to raise her voice lest a sales person approached them.
Flerida was a rather shy teen and in the event someone did come close, she'd probably hide behind Bijin. Though what good that would do was unknown as she was taller and larger than the younger Fable. "How often do you go to this maul?" She asked him.

"When I have the money. Okaa-san gives me an allowance every week when I do chores. So I can buy clothes or snacks. Does your Okaa-san give you an allowance? He was suddenly distracted by the Buddah figures made out of stone and the asian statues. Suddenly he called to his friend. "Look Riddy-san! A bird scuplture!" The smaller Fable held up a small statue of an eagle carved in wood and stained a dark brown.
