If only, if only, the woodpecker sighs, The bark on the tree was as soft as the skies. Whle the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely, Crying to the moo--oo--oon, If only, if only.
If only, if only, the moon speaks no reply, Reflecting the sun and all that's gone by. Be strong my weary wolf, turn around boldly. Fly high, my baby bird, My, angel, my only.

Description Dark playful orb like eyes danced with laughter as the pup leaped around through the undergrowth. The pup's black nose twitched as new scents came from the wind. Soft breeze ruffled her purple black fur with white spots stretched under her barrel and tipped the end of her tail. Triangular ears cocked forward as she paused to listen around her. Monenoke's nose twitched once more before she returned journeyed further through the foliage.
Personality Monenoke is a playful daredevil pup, who likes to explore. She can be downright cruel when it comes to other woodland creatures especialy when their smaller then her and/or are willing to challenge her.

Ansata Myst Kamiki Akui comes bounding into the meadow- spirits high. He playfully chases a few crows pecking on the ground, sending them in a flurry up into the trees with some disgruntled cawing. Shaking the early evening dew out of his, and loving the cool, crisp chill in the air, Akui puts his nose to the wind, looking for other potential playmates. The small pup emerged from the foliage. Small ebon nose twitched as Monenoke took in the scent of another of her species. Triangular ears stood forward as her marble like eyes crossed the figure. She let a out a playful yip and leaped forward.
Kamiki Akui's tail wags lazily as he sees the pretty little pup emerge. He goes into the play position, head down, rump up, and ears pricked high.
Ansata Myst The pup seeing that this wolf was no threat, but a playmate. She crouched as her tail played high into the air. Then she leaped forward to playfully try and tackle him even though she was no match. Then she dashed off her orbs glinting with playfulness.
Ansata Myst Kamiki Akui gave a lolling laught and pounced after her. He was itching to meet new wolves, and play. He easily caught up and ludged her over his muzzle, being very careful not to use his teeth on the young one.
During the chase, his nostrils caught the appetizing taste of freshly killed fish on the wind. The pup rushed as fast as her small legs would carried her, but the wolf caught her anyway. She squirmed and yipped before pausing to smell the scent of the fish. Then while she noticed the wolf was distracted she reached to try and gently chew on the wolf's ear.
Ansata Myst Kamiki Akui chuckled as the little girl nipped at his ear. "Easy there," he said, gently using his paw to guide her off. "My name is Akui. Whats yours?" She crouched again this time she stayed still for a bit longer once he guided her a bit away. "I'm Monenoke..." She said in her small pup tones. Her tassel wagged to and fro behind her and was about ready to bolt off again.
Ansata Myst Kamiki "Nice to meet you." Akui raised his nose to the air. "Are your parents around? I'm looking to meet more of the wolves around this area. I've been keeping to myself and I haven't met many." The pup stopped crouching and sat on her haunches. Her triangular ears fell a bit. She shook her small head. "My parents....are gone." She shook herself a bit then looked up to Akui. Her amber orbs glistened as she sat up and walked closer to him. "They dissa-peared..." She said slowly just to get out the word.
Ansata Myst Kamiki Akui gave her a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry to hear that. But don't you worry, there are plenty of wolves here that will make sure you're taken plenty care of." He gave a resolved nod. "Say, are you hungry? Maybe we can catch something to eat. Fish smelled good. " She nodded like a little kid might then looked around. Then her orbs dropped to look at the ground. Her tougue rolled from her mouth and licked the edges of her mouth as she dipped her head in agreement. "Yes...yes I am!" She said, excitement tinting her small voice.
Ansata Myst Kamiki "Do you know how to hunt? Or fish? I'm rather good if I do say so myself. My mother was one of the strongest wolves in my old pack, and she taught me well!" Akui was barely older than a pup himself, but was already in love with the idea of spreading his (self claimed) extensive knowlegde to a pup less fortunate than himself. He started off towards the river, looking behind him to make sure the pup was following. "Very little..." She said in somewhat of a shamed voice. She scampered beside Akui to keep up with him. Her orbs danced as her small squeaky voice asked. "Will you teach me....please!" She asked as she padded beside him at a small trot like gait.
Ansata Myst Kamiki "No worries, pup! I'll teach you to be an expert fisher!!"
Akui got the beach, letting the scent of the river fill his nostrils. He climbed up the bank overlooking a bend where the water was fairly deep, but claer due to its movement. He motioned for Monenoke to follow.
Crouching down, he said "Now, you get ready to pounce, like this. Fish usually swin in groups over fast water like this. So, you don't take your eyes off the water. And when you see on, you pouch at it, much like you would anything else. Straight into the water, so you have to take that into account. And if you get something, bite down HARD and dun let go! They are slippery!" The pup nodded soaking in all that he said. Her amber orbs watched the shimmering surface carefully. She spotted one and leaped after it making splashes all over the place. Her nose plunged under the water to find....just water. She brought it back up and looked around for the fish. Then looked under her questionably.
Ansata Myst Kamiki Akui laughed at the pup and hunkered down. "Maybe I can help.."
After a few moments, Akui left straight into the water in a moments time, making a huge splash. He snapped a few times before feeling his teeth sink onto something slippery. The muscular fish thrashed abuot, jerking Akui's head around a bit, making him look rather silly. THe fish was a bit larger than he expected, and while his exit of the water wasn't a graceful one, he did indeed bring up a sizable fish, which he happily shared with his new friend.. The pup cocked her head towards him and watched not moving a muscles. She watched him pick the fish right out of the water. Although it wasn't perfect she didn't see it that way. She ran about in the water running about him. Then once they were on the bank she shook herself all over sending thousands of small droplets all over. She followed him glancing at the size of the fish. She then sat and waited patiently for him to eat his share. It was only fair after all, he caught the fish.

Ansata Myst Kimaria Gizmo gave a small, playful growl and leapt at Kamali, tumbling to the ground in a flurry of limbs. The floor of the den greeted him as he rolled about on the ground, his tail thumping against it joyfully. With a small squeak he would reach up and n** at Kam's ears before finding his feet and dash over to Lera, scrambling onto her side, only to roll head over heels and land on the den's floor on the other side.
With a small 'oof' sound he would sit up and lick at his nose, turning round sheepishly to face Kamali and give a few yips. It was then when he was catching his breath that a very strange scent caught at his nostrils... Dagi The lithe fox's eyes went even wider as he saw a rather large wolf pup tumble near him. "Homygoshtooclose!" He wanted to run but his stupid legs didn't want to work. Things got worse as the little thing started to sniff about and a confused look came over it. This was when the fox started to shake in fear; he was done for and there was no escaping what was to happen next. He had been noticed by this mighty predator and surely this was his last second before being devoured. Ansata Myst Monenoke padded through the bushes her small black nose twitched taking in the scents that were scattered on the air. Her marble like eyes scanned around to find another pup that looked a bit younger then she. Monenoke gave a playful yip her tail wagged presenting herself as no threat to Gizmo.
Kimaria Gizmo snuffled noisily getting up onto his paws and turning to face this strange creature, leaping backwards he lifted his lips up to reveal his small white teeth, his hackles rising automatically. This new thing smelt strange...very strange indeed, and it frightened him.
With a low growl he began to back away, up to the entrance and out into the snow, eyes fixed upon the strange thing that had invaded his home.
A strange and sudden yip sounded behind him, scaring him half to death as he whirled around to face the new danger. Was he being surrounded? Was this the danger his brother had been talking about? Flattening himself to the ground he snarled and leapt forwards, his small form flying towards the new danger. Perhaps if he could knock down this 'thing' then he could make an escape.
Mid-leap his golden eyes widened as he realised that this new danger was a wolf pup! With a strangled squeak he turned his body so that he fell to the snow just beside her, turning his head to look up apologetically.
You not danger? He asked, canting his head in confusion. Dagi Closer and closer the beast came and as he tried; Conroy the fox could not seem to make himself run. And then he saw them, the very weapons that would deliver his death, ENORMOUs FANGS OF IVORY! Well not too enomous but still pretty big. The fox felt himself getting lightheaded; might as well die unconcious if anything. Then the wolf started to growl at him; oh what a horrid sound it was! And then a bark came from outside then dan. This was just too much for the poor fox. He right on toppled over and fainted from fear. His last thoughts were something about how it was a pity to give himself up so easily to these beasts; perhaps he'd try again in another life. Ansata Myst She watched the pup curiously as he investigated what seemed to be a fox hole. She watched as Gizmo leaped out to attack her. She was confused, so instinctivly she let out a whine, growlish whimper. (xD not sure if that's possible) She then watched as he redirected his course, but just in case she moved to the side. "I'm not danger... I'm Monenoke." She said with slight humor. Kimaria Letting out a deep sigh Gizmo pushed his nose into the snow, glad that this wasn't some kind of secret attack. He hadn't seen Haku around and he felt strangely unprotected without the large Alpha watching over him.
Pulling himself up onto his haunches he would snuffle at this new female and tilt his head slightly. She seemed to be a little older than him and her fur was a pretty shade of purple that reminded him of the sky just before snowfall.
What a strange name she had! He had never heard one that long and tongue-twisting in his whole entire life. Drawing his ears forward he would part his jaws, tongue hanging out and breath misting before his muzzle.
Mon-enok-enoke He repeated, stumbling over the syllables, You look like snowy sky. He added, not really thinking about what he was saying. I Gizmo.
He then turned his attention back to the den, snuffling at the scent. Why was the 'thing' not emerging to attack him? Dagi Why hadn't he attacked and why wasn't he attacking? Short simple answer; the fox was out cold. The notion to attack hadn't even come to his mind. Seeing wolves take down huge bucks and other hooved prey didn't really make the odds fair. Wolf vs. Conroy, if he had been awake he would have sheepishly laughed at the idea.... Eessh, it's a tough world... She leaned forward and sniffed him then looked at him. She stood on each paw with her tail still wagging. "It's Mone-no-ke, but say it fast." She said cocking her head at how he said it. "or... maybe Noke for short." She paused for a second to repeat his name, "Gizmo..." Her gaze followed his back towards the den. Her ears perked foward as she tried listening for whatever 'it' was. Ansata Myst Kimaria Gizmo nodded, and also turned to face the den, a small whimper breaking free as his tail curled about his hind leg. Mone-no-no-kaye He shook his head and wrinkled his nose, running his eyes over her marbled fur. I call long-named wolf Marble. He gave a wolfish grin before taking a tentative step towards the den, listening for any sounds of movement. Gizmo had given his own little nicknames to all the pups he had met, it was just a little habit of his.
The silence which greeted him made him even more nervous than a sound would have done. Ansata Myst She nodded, finding that she had a new nickname. Out of the corner of her eye she watched as Gizmo moved closer so she followed him soon to pass him. She noticed that Gizmo seemed nervous surely there was some terrible creature in there. She grinned, and approached it all the more daring. Kimaria Gizmo hung back a little, watching after the marbled pup with slight fear. Monster in there, scary monster! He squeaked, taking yet another step forwards, part of him wanting to stay back and the other half wanting to go with her to make sure she was okay. Dagi In all his unconciousness Conroy's legs started twitching for a few moments; causing the dirt he was laying on to shuffle about. Blek, it was dusting up his poor, pretty pelt! But that couldn't be helped. Ansata Myst "Monster, eh?" She paused, as her ears perked forward. She heard nothing, not even the slightest sound. She then continued moving closer towards the cave. The pup finally made it to the mouth of the den. Her nose twitched taking in that strange scent. She turned back to Gizmo. "You coming?" Then she heard movement from inside her ears swerved to lock on to the target. But she waited for Gizmo's reply. Now, although she couldn't help it she felt the slight sense of fear. Lethrossen He shifted from paw to paw, sitting slowly. "Gizmo is in the same pack as myself. Where did he go?" he hoped he was not annoying this female with his questions. He certainly didn't want to be considered annoying!

Setting: Conroy and Hawk have just met up in the forest and Monenoke finds them. Ansata Myst Dagi Conroy frowns as the wolf flops back. He gets up and pads to him and then once again takes a seat near his head. The fox placed a tiny, brown paw on the rather large wolf's head. And gave him a hopeful grin, his tail wagging about. The wolf didn't seem particularly bright which was disheartening and not being able to understand the wolf's latest gibbersih was even worse. Even though this was getting no where at all Conroy felt quite content on staying with this wolf, he was rather nice unlike all the others he had encountered....
"Now don't get discouraged little wolf! We shall work around this!" Ansata Myst Monenoke walked along her nostrils inhaling the scent of another wolf around. Not only that, but that fox; whom she already met earlier. She padded along to find both. A puzzled look crossed her maw as she stared at the wolf and then to the thing. She whoofed at the other wolf. She posed no threat her tail was wagging and ears were perked.
Toushin Hawk blinks as he feels that tiny paw pressing against his head. He tilts his nose in the direction of the vulpine, blinking a few more times before he rolls onto his stomach, staring at him. It's then that he also catches sight of the puppy, which makes him climb to his feet.
"Another wolf! Lookit this creature! It's chattering on about something..." He stares down at the fox. Ansata Myst She looked at the wolf and nodded her dial. "That thing tends to get in a lot of trouble with our kin." She said chuckling. She slowly approached closer with her nose taking in it's scent. Indeed it was the one that she saw before, the one that scared poor Gizmo near death. "It probably was just fearful that you might make a meal of it." Monenoke said as a grin settled on her maw.
Dagi As the wolf rolls over; Conroy takes his paw away and steps back a step. He blinks slightly as he sees that the wolf had caught of something. No words were needed to know what was going on here which was very promising. Conroy was about to grin when he saw what the wolf has located. It was the purple wolf from before... And she was BIGGER! Much bigger. Conroy's eyes went wide again and he zipped behind his newly made wolf friend and spoke in shaky yips,
"Homan Wolfie, it's her, becareful!!!!! Chomp chomp!"
AS he said that last part he made a chomping motion with his jaws and growled to illustrate his point. Toushin He turns his head to peek down over his shoulder at the fox as he hides behind him, watching with an amused look as he yips and growls.
"I don't think it likes you!" he announces to the world, looking back at the pup. He smiles down at her, his tail wagging furiously. He obviously wasn't like many of the other wolves around here. "I'm Hawk. Who're you?" Dagi Conroy still couldn't amke out the words but his common sense told him that the wolf's words were of introduction. He wondered what the wolf's name was... He needed a name. The pup took a good look at the wolf and nodded. His pelt resembled that of a bird 'Birdy' was a good name as any. He still didn't dare to come out from behind Birdy. He only stuck his head out from behind his cover. He sent a glare to the purple wolf and continued to listen some more. Ansata Myst The grin only grew larger when the thing hid from her. Although she hadn't purposely make it be terrified of her. She might as well play along. She took several steps closer then sat on her haunches with her tail wagging behind her. She shrugged at his comment, "Can't say, I don't blame him." She said, then paused to remember his scent and dubbing. "I'm Monenoke."
Toushin "That's an interesting name," he chimes, sounding rather pleased.
He turns to look back down at the hiding fox again, tilting his head curiously then looking back to the puppy. "Did you see him before or something?" He's remarking to her comment about how she can't blame him for being scared of her. Ansata Myst The grin soon faded replaced by a smile of some sort. Her marble eyes gleamed as she looked at Hawk then to the critter. Then slowly her gaze slipped off of the creature's returning to Hawk. "Ah, yes indeed, we met not to long ago."
Dagi Conroy frowned; that's it, no more being so scared! He looked up to Hawk and shot him a serious look before his next move,
"Watch my back Birdy"
He slipped out in his sneaky fox way from behind the brown wolf and proceeded to sit beside him. His head held high to show that he wasn't going to be scared of the purple wolf any more. Toushin "Oh, you did?" Hawk had managed to put two and two together, guessing that the purple puppy had scared the vulpine, which was it was still hiding.
Speaking of which, he saw from the corner of his eye as the orange fox slinked out from behind him and sat there. He couldn't help but grin at the other wolf.
"I guess he's not afraid anymore." Ansata Myst Monenoke didn't react when the fox slipped out from behind the fellow wolf. Although that grin split back onto her maw just to the point where you could just barely see her gleaming fangs. "The critter scared another wolf pup younger than I. I only did deed for my fellow kin to ensure that he'd be okay." She said speaking through her teeth and grin. Monenoke kept her amber orbs tuned on Hawk. "So it seems."

Ansata Myst Kamiki ((Yeah, I saw her grow up yesterday, she's beautiful. heart
The problem is, I really wanted to get at least a few wolves soon to help with the puppies to decrease the mortality rate. crying But thanks anyway, I don't suppose she could change her mind, eh?
And sure, I'm up for some RP :3 ))Akui was moving slower today than usual. Not bounding through the meadows chasing crows or foxes. He seemed more a mature, more content. He strode confidently along the tall grass by the river, a lolling smile on his face as he scoped out possible fishing spots. He wanted to bring a big meal back to Nyx Ansata Myst (( hmmm, I could always ask that she never joined? ....maybe.... )) Monenoke walked around her nose breathed in a scent that was familiar to her. She remembered exactly who it was, her walk transformed into a faster gait to reach a river. Her amber orbs scanned to see Akui a smile rolled onto her lips as she approached her friend. She paused before giving a friendly whoof.
Kamiki ((Hmmm.. I don't think a "do-ever" would really fly. Its completely up to you and what you think Mono would do in character :3 If Akui missed his chance, ya know, thats the way the cookie crumbles I suppose))Akui's ears twitched around as he heard someone approach. Instinctively he raised the fur on his hackles and let a low rumble in his throat escape before he saw the beautiful lavander she-wolf come into his sight.
Though she had grown, Akui recognized her instantly. "Mononoke!" he exclaimed, his expression softening. He went over to her, tail wagging. "You look great! How are you doing! My, you're growing up so lovely!" Ansata Myst
Monenoke smiled when he saw her. She approached meeting him half way with her own tail wagging. "It's been awhile." She said softly but still held excitment in it. "I'm doing fine, how is everything going for you?" She said, trying to match the same excitement, but something did trouble her. How could she tell him that she joined a pack, which was deciding to move.
(( I hate self-conflict in a character x.x oh well. Monenoke/I are going to have to decide. )) Kamiki "Everything's going wonderfully!" he said, unable to keep the excitement out of his voice. "I have a mate now, heh... " his tail wagged dispite himself at the thought of Nyx.
"Ya know, there was something I was going to ask you if I saw you. Well, you see... Nyx and I might be having puppies soon... and, well, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to... help out, or something. Ya know... like, a packmate..? " He was nervous but excited at the same time. Here is was - trying to start his own pack?
I mean, why not. He was talented, strong, and smart. Generally friendly, and while he has never had to get in a fight with another wolf, he was confident he could defend him and his friends. He just never had the reason to be pushy or mean or angry. But now.. now he had something worth protecting. Ansata Myst "That's great..." She said, then hushed her voice as he continued speaking. The smile on her face somewhat faded, "Akui I would love to, but..." She said pausing letting her voice fade, wondering what to say. "I recently joined a pack." She spoke softly now waiting a few more minutes before speaking again. "I could leave..."
(( Eh, I'm sorry I think Monenoke will follow Akui. The only reason being is that he was one of the first wolves she met and her first and closest friend. I'm sorry Kouseki... )) Kamiki Akui's ears lowered in dissapointment. "You have? Well, I mean, congradulations! You're growing up so well, I guess it would have been pretty silly to think someone hadn't snatched you up yet." He gave a supportive smile.
"I couldn't ask you to do that..." he said, pawing a bit at the dirt. "I mean, if you came with me ... it would just me, you, and Nyx. Thats hardly a "real" pack yet anyways. You deserve to be well taken care of."
...."but IF you did decide to come with me, I would take care of you to the very best of my ability. I promise you." Ansata Myst She looked at Akui, she couldn't do this to him. She didn't want to leave and possibly never see him again. She shook her head, "I can't do it... Akui... I can't stay in the pack and be happy knowing that I'll never see you again." She nodded her head on that comment. Akui was like a brother to her.
Kamiki Akui couldn't help but smile and let his tail wag alittle. He never felt so... proud in his life. So happy. Everything was finally coming together for him. "I couldn't imagine never seeing you again, either, Noke.
"Shouldn't you talk to them? They'll worry." Ansata Myst She nodded, "Yes, I'll have to tell them sometime..." (is dreading that) She knew that they wouldn't be too happy about that especialy when she just joined.
Kamiki "Would you like me to come with you, Noke?" Ansata Myst "No... no I'll do it, but thanks for the offer." She turned her body towards where the pack dwelled for the time being. "Can I meet you back here?" She said.
Kamiki Akui gave Noke a friendly nuzzle. "Of course. I'll come find you later. For now, I need to find something for Nyx to eat."

dustfeather Ansata Myst Noke followed a trail continuing her usual duty. Ever since Nyx had her puppies Akui and Noke were nearly constantly hunting. Not that she was complaining. She liked it, because she could go out and explore. She continued to pad through the forest until she heard something. Immediately she craned her neck around as amber orbs searched the foliage around her. Audits perked atop her crania, then a strange foul scent began to burn her nostrils. She had never met a "two legger" but she certaintly didn't want to. She took a step back unsuredly then took in the scent of another. This time it was something unmistakingly familiar, another wolf. dustfeather The blizzard has since gone down, and both Kaya and Shilah, restless as only the young can be at staying in one spot too often, have gotten bored and have disappeared out into the snow. With the human boy's coat - blisslessly ignoring the fact that he himself might be cold - Kaya doesn't mind going out. Since Balan has been sleeping, both children refused to go very much farther from the caves - Shilah knows his promise to talk to Balan's alpha will keep until Balan is ready to travel, or Feanaro or Hige returns. Until then, he's content to explore this area with his 'packmate.' The two are gambooling in a small wooded area nearby. The weeks have wrought an alarming change in the young human girl. She's lean - one might almost say depravingly skinny - but has gained some muscletone. Her hair, not very neatly-kept before, is now all but in tangles. It looks like she cut it, too - but inexpertly. Her arms are now criss-crossed with numerous scars, some newly healed, others older. Shilah pounces her, tusseling in the snow, but perks up as he sniffs something else around the area. His head raises curiously, tail twitching. Ansata Myst Noke stood where she was at puzzled at how she could of have gotten both scents, at the same time, with the same strength. Could my wolf-brethren ((she's calls every wolf her kin or brethren)) be in trouble? This thought made her extremely uneasy. Her nose sifted through the scents again. She finally got the nerve to approach. Her purple figure slinked across the ashen snow. It didn't take very long for the scents to overwhelm her nostrils. She then paused walking off the normal path into a patch of dead foliage and continued through there. Then she saw them, it was a very odd sight. Her fellow wolf-brethren was indeed not in trouble, but was walking with the "two-legger" Noke couldn't believe her eyes. dustfeather Shilah, alerted of the newcomer's presence, lets out a warning bark, ears flung forwards in curiousity as he pads out across the snow. Kaya rolls over and freezes slightly at the sight of the adolescent she-wolf, warily coming into a crouching position. She knows Soft Fur and Wind Call and Fire Whisper - her names for Balan, Feanaro, and Hige respectively - but she's never met a female of 'her' species before. Kaya is quite convined, at this point, that she's a wolf - a weird, two-legged wolf that's quite vulnerable to the elements, but a wolf nevertheless. She watches the newcomer, eyes slitted. Shilah, however, offers a hesitant tail-wag, coupled with a yip of greeting as he nears the she-wolf, stopping a good distance away, his tail hung slightly lower in submission and good will. Ansata Myst Monenoke watched as the two finally realized her existence. Her optics narrowed on the "two legger", whom was crawling around like a wolf. Hackles raised slightly as a warning growl was emitted form her throat, but that was all. She then looked at the pup who obviously was submitting to her. Optics glanced back at the "two legger" she heard the yip, but thought nothing of it. The she-wolf stood for a second in a position ready to defend herself if need be. Hackles slowly fell fell and ears let up from pressing on her skull. Noke had heard terrible things about these, "two-leggers" Nyx said never to trust them, so Noke being one to respect Nyx didn't trust any of them. Noke walked up slowly to the pup and sniffed him then licked his face. Then backed off showing no greeting towards the "two-legger" "Tell me why you bring a 'two-legger' into these parts?" dustfeather The odd, stripe-faced pup wags his tail harder at the lick. But the question - given the she-wolf's growl and Balan's frustrated attempt to convince Shilah of the same thing - is not altogether a surprise.
She's my pack-mate, the pup says, proudly, turning back to look at the human girl, who warily shows no signs of advancing upon Monenoke - whatever the child may be, she's not that stupid. That's Kaya. She's a wolf. I'm Shilah. Ansata Myst Monenoke frowned at the pup's comment. Noke turned her gaze towards the "two-legger", "That thing isn't of our kin..." She said slightly irritated and confused. She backed off several steps and sat on her haunches. Her gaze remained settled on Shilah. Noke shook her head, how could the pup think that it was one of them. "I'm Monenoke..." She said, her tail however did not wag. She would never dream of wagging her tail in a "two-leggers" presense. dustfeather The semi-striped pup looks just a bit put-out, but as if this was an attitude that it was slowly coming to terms with. "She's my packmate. She might look funny, but she's a wolf," the child explains patiently, as if lecturing a particularly recalcitrant child. But he leaves off there, flopping his belly into the snow gregariously, sensing no immediate threat from the purple she-wolf. "Do you live around here, Monenoke?" He questions curiously. Ansata Myst Monenoke shook her head yet a second time, "It's a two-legger under little clothing, that's what it is." She murmered knowing fully that the true saying was, 'a wolf in sheep's clothing.' Noke continued to watch the pup before tossing a nervous glance at the "two-legger." Noke paused before answering the question giving another cold gaze at the girl. What if, it can understand our tougue? She thought, What if when I answer this question it will go back to it's pack-land and tell them of our location. Then Nyx, Akui, Cheza, and the pups would be in danger. The fur on the back of her neck bristled at the thought. "Me? Nah, I'm just exploring." dustfeather The striped puppy blinks, bemused, just smiling a blank little smile. He looks slightly disheartened at the response, but perks up. "That's what we're doing, too. Well - us and Balan and Hige and Feanaro, anyways. Balan and Hige have a pack, but we have to go talk to the alphas yet." He scratches behind an ear with one hind leg absent-mindedly. "But for now we're just staying around here, 'tis nice, and Balan brings us food back. You haven't seen Hige or Feanaro, have you?" He querries, expectantly, perking up. Ansata Myst "Hige?" She murmored, remembering that name from somewhere. She searched the back of her memory for a wolf of such an aquaintance. She paused looking back at him, "I think I have seen Hige around somewhere, but it was awhile back." She said furthermore ignoring the pup's response with the blank smile before that comment. Noke looked at the pup, "Don't become too dependant on Balan, if something were to ever happen to him what would you do for food?" She said that from personal experience if it hadn't been for Akui she would've starved to death. dustfeather Shilah shakes his head. "Then it would've been too far back...he was with us until a bit ago, when he went back to his pack to talk to them. He'll be back sometime, though, I expect," He says, with the direct optimism that the very young seem to hold in endless reserves. But at the statement, the child grow unnaturally serious. He fidgets slightly. "I know," He says, a brief flicker of fear leading him to sound annoyed. "Kaya can trap some small things, she's a better hunter than I am, and I'm...learning." That would be probably the best way to describe his less-than-lethal skills. Ansata Myst Noke nodded her head slightly as the pup told her about their hunting skills. Her orbs became slits at the mentioning to the "two-legger." She couldn't help it as her hackles raised slightly again as she shot another glance at it. "Do not rely on 'two-leggers' either..." She said sharply, relying on a pack was one thing as long as you put your share of the work into it. But relying on a "two-legger" was worse then anything else. She had heard plenty of stories of wolves and creatures of their like becoming corrupt and actually joining "two-legger" packs. They became inane and blunt not even able to catch the simplest of prey. dustfeather Why not? The puppy demands, in a mixture of curiousity and defensiveness. She's my packmate, of course I'll rely on her. She's got nimble paws, she's able to do things I can't, nor any other four-legged wolf. She can create warmth with her paws, too. A bit too stifling for his taste, but she must need it when she is in her furless state. She's magic, too, she can take off her fur when she needs to. Ansata Myst "Exactly my point, she is a 'two-legger' she is NOT one of us!" Noke's voice roared, hackles rose now. "Those are not paws, they are called 'hands' and that fur coat of it's is wolf pelt. They murder our kin, our brethren and you choose to call her one of us!" Noke said before turning her amber orbs towards the "two-legger." She growled before taking several steps back. "Don't you see, they have already corrupted you." With that Noke began to walk away. dustfeather The puppy blinks at Monenoke's outburst, ears flattening slightly, but he doesn't look too perturbed - in fact, it doesn't look like much would ruffle him unduly. But it's elk skin, He says, confused, nose wrinkling up. She took it from a lower-ranked member of our pack. The 'killing' part just confuses him more. Why would wolf want to kill wolf unless that wolf invaded a territory - and even then, deaths were rare. Usually only wolves, driven insane by some disease or other, had ever been killed, to his knowledge, anyways. She's not sick in the mind, he says, watching the she-wolf stalk off with a perplexed look, as if unaware as to what he had said wrong. Ansata Myst The wolves pup's comment made her angry, they were right about the "two-leggers." she thought to herself. The she-wolf was shivering slightly, but not because of the frosty air. It was moreso hurt and anger. She was hurt that the pup didn't even realize what/who the wolf kin was anymore and angry that Hige and the other's let the "two-legger" live. Noke felt instinct flood her veins, the urge to save that pup from the "two-legger" was great. Also revenge, revenge for all the hurt that the "two-legger's" have caused. Noke looked up at the pup her orbs soft and sad looking, "One would hope that you would see the truth, but I fear that it is too late. I wonder what our ancestors would say if they saw you, one can only wonder." Compared to her outburst her words were soft the she-wolf gave the pup a nod. But as Noke turned she snapped out her jaws not to reach the "two legger," but moreso as a warning. As her jaws clenched thin air she turned and left traveling back towards the dead foliage, which had brought her here in the first place. This would be the very day, in which Noke pledged her soul against mankind. She chose the wild path to live just like the ancestors before her. No, she'd never turn tail to rely on the "two-leggers" Noke then started to trot back up the path when she reached out of view she cocked her head back and released a cry. Tunes wavered in the air as each note rose and fell. Then when it seemed it would die away she released another and another. Finally it died, and she continued her way. dustfeather I dunno. The pup scratches behind his ear again, doubtfully. I'd think they'd probably not have much to say, being dead and all. Once you were dead, you were dead, that's how Shilah saw things. He bristles, however, as the she-wolf threatens his pack member, hackles raising slightly as he gets to all fours, glowering at her. Kaya crouches, still, fingers touching the pommel of her knife. Her lambent dark eyes flicker in slight fear as the jaws snap towards her - a bit too close for comfort. But in a battle, she knows she'd be completely overwhelmed by the adolescent. I'll have to learn to fight, she thinks, grimly. Even if she has joined a pack, she'll have rankings...and won't be able to keep up any rank for long unless she can. She watches, apprehensive, as the purple wolf turns off, and disappears. The puppy trundles over to her and nuzzles against her leg, nibbing it lightly in play. Even that brings up some blood - she playfully buffets him away, but is much more solemn, settling down onto the snow quietly.

(( Private Rp with Conroy, teh fox ))
Noke laid in the snow with her eyes straying to each hybernating skelatons that were suppose to be trees. The wind slowly ruffled her fur as a melody came from her lips. The chords rose and fell fading in the wind. She then paused to think of her friends in which were gone now. She looked at her shoulder to see the gash on her shoulder still healing.
