A mocha colored female slipped quietly through the jungle's trees out into what many call 'the open' her fur was picked up and tossed around by the sudden wind that whipped through places there were not protected by the great trees. It head been awhile since she just walked away from the small group of leopard..well..half leopard freaks. Mleli, her older sister, was a bit of a grouch and sometimes Ajali just needed a moment to be free of her sister's great family.

Muscles tensed and released as the area was scanned for predators, and none found. It as possible that Ajali was paranoid for lions, the word of a young one being harmed when she left her den within had spread to her from Kifuno, the snake she shared her tree with. With no threats in sight she continue on her way, she knew the perfect place to sunbathe, a rock that took the heat of the morning and stayed warm all day. The midday sun beat down happily on the open world and she was sure she'd be so warm soon that the wild wind would no longer seem so cutting.

Chui was walking slowly. His head, as usual, was aching, and it made progress on his little trek to the jungle. He stopped for a second, shaking his head slightly to try and get rid of the pain. "C'mon Roozani," he said aloud whilst shaking his head. "I'm almost there, just shut up for a little while.." The young leopard began walking again, his salmon gaze on the ground just in front of him. "You know," he said, "If it weren't for you I'd be there already!"

If not for the fact that he was actually alone, he would've looked like your everyday leopard. However, the scene of him talking to nothing but air made him look......well, to put it simply, insane.

Ajali blinked looking around at the sudden sound of someone talking, her brown eyes settling on a tiny form walking across her path. Stopping quietly she watched him. Who are you talking too? She thought and decided it was better not to ask.

"Are you lost, dear one?" She called happily to him, it would be sad to think of someone being lost in this jungle, maybe his mother was near by? He looked too young to be out completely lone.

The sudden sound of a voice surprised the young leopard, and he stumbled over himself, rolling several times before coming to a stop. He grunted and pulled himself up into a sitting position. Chui's head throbbed even more now, and he looked around for the source of a voice. His vision landed quickly on a leopardess not too far away, and he smiled and stood up on all fours, bounding over to her.

"Hi!" he replied in greeting, happy to see one of his own kind after such a long while. "No, I'm not lost. I'm on a journey!" He said it rather nonchalantly, as though it was completely normal for someone his age to be roaming around alone.

"Well, aren't you just the cutest thing! A Journey? What're you searching for?" She giggled like a child happily. Mleli might be a grouch buy Ajali was one of those leopardesses that talked to much and laughed even more, nothing could keep this leopardess down, nothing.

"I am Ajali, I've got a neice that's your age, actually a whole slew of neices and nephews your age," she nodded to prove her point, "They think their Auntie Ajali talks too much, I'm sure I do. Where is your mother or father? Who're you traveling with, little one?"

"I'm headed for the jungle," Chui answered, "And I'm just looking for some shelter. Life out here is too hard for me.." He said the last part a little quieter, not wanting to admit that he was still very weak compared to a lot of the other rogues he'd seen or heard of. His ears perked up when she mentioned leopards his age, and he looked up at her with wide eyes and an equally large grin on his face. With the surge of excitement, he managed to quiet down the other side of his mind, much to Roozani's dismay.

Chui thought for a second before answering, not sure how to answer the question about his parents without making her worry. "Uhm...well, see...I don't have any parents..." he said finally. "I don't know if they abandoned me or if they died or anything, but I've been alone ever since I can remember.." He tried to cheer himself up, though, with thoughts of mingling with others his own age. "Hey! You said you have neices and nephews my age, could I meet them??"

"Oh, you are just as sweet as the grasses aren't you? Life is pretty tough out here, I live in there," she turned her head in a motion towards the jungle, "Life is hard in there too, but at least I have a family." She frowned, it was going to be a sad day. Her heart pounded heavily at the thought of being all alone, she was an orphan once and knew what it was like to be lonely, she almost always had Mleli, who she saw the bright side in.

"Of course, I think my little Duma needs some time away from the others to find herself," she smiled and decided today was not the day for rock bathing, it was a day to play with a little leopard, "What's your name, sweets?"

Chui puffed his chest out a little proudly, a wide smile on his face having been complimented one too many times. He felt his spirits lift even more when mention of a younger leopard came again. "I'm Chui! You know...kind of like how pink fish are chewy, but not really. I think my namesake came from that, and how my eyes are pink like those fish are." He sidled up to her, widening his eyes so she could see them clearly.

The day seemed to be a good one, despite his continuously throbbing head. But even that was dying down, thanks to the conversation at hand. Perhaps the night would be as merciful, and sleep would come much more easily to him. So long as he had company, it was a lot easier to keep Roozani under control. The crazy other half of young Chui might be too much of a handful for anyone, after all..

"Chui, now that's an..interesting name!" She nodded happily her cheerful personality never kept down for long as she thought about the little cub, "Before..when you were alone, who was it that you were talking to? I didn't see anyone. But, then again I talk so much I talk to my self as well!" She joked little did she know this youth came with a twist!

"We live in a great tree not far from here, if you look around you'll be sure to find some of my family, they're half lions..but they still have traits that look like me, and their mother. Browns, whites, and black." They were large group, like a commune in the middle of the jungle.

"Are you hungry, Chui? We could look for something together?" She was worried that if he was alone then he wasn't eating properly, always the looney Aunt Ajali was ready to feed.

Chui openly frowned when the subject moved to his other half, Roozani. Had he been talking aloud again? He shook the look from his face and brightened his expression into a small smile. "Oh, I was uhh...talking to a so-called friend of mine. An imaginary friend, I guess...." He sounded a little hesitant to talk much about Roozani. It was something he preferred to keep to himself.

His ears then twitched when she said the most interesting thing about her family. Half lions? The young leopard tilted his head slightly, completely unfamiliar with the species, nor with the fact that it was even possible to have such a one. "Wow...half lions? Do they act like lions do? You know, with all the growling and the mane fluffing and stuff?" He had a genuine cluelessness in both his eyes and his tone of voice.

"And no, I'm not hungry, but thank you!" He took a seat and smiled up at the Ajali, his tail swishing to and fro behind him. "Actually I just ate. I'd rather meet this Duma of yours though! And the rest of your family. I haven't been able to mingle with my age since forever."

"Ahh, being alone can do that to you I guess," she felt awkward about inviting this little one in without at least consulting Mleli, "You know, maybe if I went to get Duma..then she can play? A few of the others have run..well, off and some are there, not many." She didn't like the idea of her neices and newphews running amuck, but some were.

"I'm glad you've eaten, I was an orphan, thank goodess a nice leopardess took so many of us in," she smiled. She wasn't going to pull anymore about the little one's imaginary friend but it intrigued her, he talked alloud to someone that didn't exist? Odd. If he asked she'd tell him to wait here and scamper off to drag Duma here. Duma was her favorite, if only for the fact that she was colored like Mleli and was both leopard and lion but named for a cheetah, Ajali's little prank.

"Yeah..." Chui replied, "But he's not really the best company, I can tell you that much," he finished with a laugh. He frowned a little when she seemed to take back her invitation into their territory of the jungle, but shoved the feeling off. It was, he assumed, for good reason, and he felt it was a good idea. Though no one else knew, he was pretty dangerous when Roozani took over.

"I haven't run into too many nice rogues around. You'd have to be the first, I think." The brown leopard smiled up at her again. "And if it's too much trouble to get Duma here, I don't mind. I'm used to being alone for the most part anyway, so it's alright if you don't wanna go back and get her." His smile became a little hollow-looking with a slight implication of loneliness in its background.

"Haha, the voice in my head isn't much company either," She giggled again like a child and was delighted to have him ask to see Duma. Ajali worried for the girl she spent so much time around her mother and family, she needed some outside friends and that's what seemed best.

Without a thought Ajali turned to go back into the jungle, but the swiftness with which she turned reminded her that it was quite windy today, "How about you stay right inside of these trees and wait for me to return, I'd take you right to the tree, but my sister can be a grump sometimes and it would be hard for me to explain bringing a stranger." And she quickly disappeared into the foiliage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Passage of time..dun..dun..dun..XD)

The little leopon growled unhappily at Auntie Ajali, leave it to the looney bird like auntie to make her meet someone new. Her ghostly pelt bobbed and weaved between the trees of the jungle until she came to the open, she feared the open, but not like others did, she feared leaving their mother, she liked the way mommy acted and was going to be just like her, or so she thought.

Ajali had slunk back and watched from a far with the instructions of, 'find the nice other leopard, he seems very sweet, you'll be happy to make a friend. I wont bug you, promises, promises.' Leaving Duma to look for a leopard cub. Growling again she looked around.

Chui nodded and followed her to just the edges of the thicket of trees, then took a seat beside a particularly large tree. "Alright," he called after Ajali, leaning lightly against the trunk of the giant beside him. He was tired, so he wanted enough energy to be able to play with Duma, whom he was very eager to meet. "Be nice, okay Zani?" he said quietly to his other half, praying that he'd listen to him for once.

He'd been waiting for not too long when he heard a bit of growling come from nearby. "Hello?" he called, standing up straight and walking a little further into the forest. His salmon orbs looked around for any traces of things that were, well...not trees.

"Over here," She grunted in response to the bodiless voice, she still had yet to see this..'chewy' who was called chewy anyways? Was he like a peice of meat that tasted funny? She was in foul mood, but Aunt looney bird wanted her to play.

"Are you the meathead I'm supposed to meet?" She called again irritably, deary hopefully she'd be nice to him once she saw him! Her white form wiggled as she looked around for the leopard she was supposed to meet. Ajali wanted to step forward at her nieces sudden mean comments, but thought it would be mean to ruin her perfectly planned playdate. It wasn't that Duma didn't /want/ to meat Chui it was that she didn't /need/ Ajali to make friends for her.

(she'll get nicer. XD She's got to actually see him/she'll soften up.)
