((Page 1!))Daimyn ((Okii, let's get this party started! Continued from the SW main thread, left off on page 902.)) Devvyl gave his mate a small nuzzle, canting his head and leaning into her, giving her a playful shove. Then lifting his nose to the air, he let out a single note, which faded into the afternoon air before his baritone voice reached out again, growing louder in volume, a call to all who would come with him and his mate, and follow them to the south. Nikui She smirked at him, and would give a shove back, following his movements to let out a loud howl...soon meeting his tone, though her own was a bit lighter. When her voice died down, she'd snuff into his first, licking his neck softly. "Shall we start moving?" She questioned in a soft tone, smiling once more...but hesitating to wait for everyone. Tahja Estes "Hey," Hige greeted, turning his head enough to nuzzle Selia's neck. "This is Thayne, he agreed to come with us."
He leant over and nudged the back of Thayne's head encouragingly, then he nodded and stood to his paws, listening to his parents- eh- his alphas give the call with a swelling sense of pride... and... something else...
Pulling his head back and exposing his neck, ears flattening. Hige also joined in with the pack howl, he even could make out Thayne's smaller voice after a second or so. So this is how it felt to be part of a pack...? It was the best feeling that Hige had experienced yet.
As their howling died down slowly his ears perked to listen for others responses, or had anyone joined in besides their small group?
((Luce had to go for the night, but I have permission to rp Thayne for minor things, such as moving, ^^)) Aris Ravenstar ((Don't mind the color and stuff.. *is testing out coloring Raine's RP messages*.. I'll probably be too lazy to keep it up, though. x3;; ))
Raine soon came bounding through the bushes near the others, having heard the howl of Devvyl and promptly ran towards it. The petite young wolf blinked as she walked closer and noticed the white and brown ((brown? black? charcoal?? I can't tell that color, x3;;; )) female standing next to the alpha. So she is Devvyl's mate! Raine deduced, grinning at her accomplishment (not that it was hard to figure out, now that they were nuzzling and licking each other).
"S-sorry for running off like that." She stammered awkwardly at the red wolf, padding towards the two alphas and giving a respectful nod to both.
((I'm going on the assumption that this is -after- the RP I'm currently doing with Tweek, so Raine's already met Elphie..)) Daimyn Devvyl looked around. Everyone here? Well, except for a few. They'll catch up, he decided quickly. South it is then. He started forward, looking to his mate. Selia, I met this youngling earlier; she's agreed to come with us. Her name's Raine. Raine, this is Selia.. she's my mate, and alpha female.Nikui She smiled to the pup, and would lower her head to give an affectionate nudge to the pup's side. "Nice to meet you too, Raine." Looking up to her mate, she nodded. "South it is," she replied, and stood back up straight. Looking down at Raine, she smiled warmly. "If you get tired," she began, "I can carry you." She loved pups. x3 Tahja Estes Hige gave both of the pups an encouraging nudge, which got Thayne to stand again to follow. The young male kept close to the younger ones to make sure that they didn't fall behind or get seperated from the group. He wondered, when would they be joined by the others, Elphie, and Yero, and Yero's two friends? He hoped it was soon.
The thrill of the move was starting to rush through his blood, and he expressed it with a voice on edge. "I wonder how long it'll be before the others find us...!" Aris Ravenstar She smiled politely and respectfully at the other alpha, trying to hide any apprehension. She feared however that the female would not accept her. But she wouldn't do that, would she? She seemed very kind.. However, the pup feared it all the same, for that was the one thing that could take away this new family that she had longed for..
Thankfully, she realized her worries were unnecessary shortly after thinking that. The pup beamed as she felt the warmth from the alpha female's nudge and heard her gentle words. She sighed in relief and contentment as she looked up at Selia and nodded to her. "Thank you," she replied, padding along with the others. "I'm so happy to have met you both."((Female lions are lionesses, right? So what are female wolves? Wolf..ess? Wolf..tress? Iunno. *shakes head* sweatdrop ))

((She-wolf? I don't think that female wolves have a set name actually, I never heard of it at least. X3 all this wolf stuff makes me want to re-read Animorphs again now.))
Hige watched as the snow fell, paying attention to Thayne's reactions as well. At first the pup would yip as a snowflake caught his muzzle, making Hige chuckle with amusement. He probably would have been running all over the place if it had been snowing when he was younger, now he just felt lazy at the prospect of chasing a bunch of floating white dots around.
((*just posting cause I can ^^*)) Tweet (( *throws Elphie in* WHOO! Movin' time! *makes her grrrreeen* )) A large brown wolf with sparing beige highlights and inky black stockings slid into view, Elphaba, Beta. She licked her black lips with a purplish tongue, cleaning tiny beads of blood off her whiskers. Obviously she had been off hunting. She aproached the pair of alphas her tail waving in a gentle rythym of companionship. Devvyl was more than alpha male, Selia more than alpha female. They had been Elphaba's solace since she came to the woods. Packmates. Bonds. Friends. "I came as soon as I heard," She said with a smile, touching noses with Selia and then playfully shoving her snout to ruffle Devvyl's shoulder fur(like NOOGIES xD) before hopping back a step to survey her leaders with enthusiasm. She was eager to move out, and fell into stride with the others. Her eyes caught those of little Raine. "Hello again, little one," She whuffed with a hint of a smirk. She glanced around her at the other wolves. A couple of them she didn't know very well, or even at all. (( I don't quite know how to react to Raine since we're still in the middle of the RP butchaknow. x3 )) Nikui She'd smirk to Elphaba, pressing her nose back to her beta, her friend. "Nice of you to join us," she chuckled softly at her, and licked her friend's muzzle before Elphie moved to greet Devvyl. They truly didn't seem to mind if their close friend came to them respectfully or not. She would never strike out at Elphie, not even if her friend was ripping her throat out. "We're hoping to get as far down south as the herds are moving, there should be enough food on our trip to last us till we get there. The others will be joining us soon." She confirmed, trotting softly and energetically towards their destination. Luce Ravenier These alphas were nothing like Thayne's old elders. His old pack had been rigidly hierarchial and all but his mum and the babysitters had been stiff-backed old farts. Devvyl and Selia were... well, nice. He could already tell this pack was going to be different than anything he ever would have known. The realization filled him with so much glee that he couldn't contain it all. So he romped about in the light snow, catching flakes with his tongue and on his nose. He remembered snow -- how much Mum had loved it. He circled Hige playfully, with his ears at attention and his tail like a proud black-and-silver flag, daring the older male to engage with him in a short bout of playtime. On one of his rounds, though, he nearly ran into the other pup in the pack -- the bluejay-patterned one. As it was, he leaped over her in a quick show of reflex and landed in an awkward splay-legged half-crouch. He gathered himself and trotted up to her curiously. " 'ello," he said. " 'aven' met you yet, but I've 'eard 'bout you. You're Raine, aye?" [[ 'Allooooo, everybody. ::is still alive, promise!:: sweatdrop ]] Daimyn Devvyl yipped a greeting as Elphie came into view, nudging her back with a cold nose. Took you long enough, he told her in play, as he picked up his pace a bit. Tweek Grinning, Elphaba tossed her head with a theatrical flourish. " So sorry, I had a previous engagement with a preybeast," The brown she-wolf fell into step a few feet behind the leaders so she'd be able to keep in conversation with them, or ready if needed. " Quite a following you two. Pick up any males for me?" Elphie snorted out a mist of silver. Then she fell into a slightly more serious tone. " I've heard rumors of Faenaro following us south. Is this true?"(( I think Fae said he was gonna move south.. )) Stormy Hound Following Hige's scent, Loki ran faster, hoping to catch up with the rest of his pack. She was unsure of what she was going to say when she actually found them, but ran on anyway. She smelled them as she finally got close, and decided to go slower. Upon approaching within sight, she became more like the omega she was, in body language at least. Nikui "I believe so," she responded to Elphaba, and would cease her steps slowly...scenting a wolf coming up towards them. Hige had returned moments before, maybe this was a friend of his? It smelt of that demon pup. "Hm, I'll be right back." She announced, and would break away from her mate and friend, trotting towards the back of the ground...till she stopped, waiting for the wolf to come into view. Stormy Hound Loki saw the white wolf and knew right away that she had to be the one Gaara spoke of. She.. looked nice. But those who judge by appearance alone...
Loki stopped when she was sure the white wolf could see her. She wasn't a threat and didn't want to make herself look like one. She assumed a submissive position and waited to be spoken to. Nikui "Who are you?" She questioned calmly, seeing that this wolf seemed to know her place against the pack. She'd glance back to see the pack continue moving, knowing it wouldn't be too hard to follow after them. She'd keep her head and tail high, canting her head at the female before her. She still smelt of the demon pup...the one she got a horrible feeling from..but, this wolf didn't seem to be a problem at all. Stormy Hound I am Loki. No pack, no family. Hige mentioned I might come with him South, with him and this pack. I came to ask admitance into your pack. she paused to bite at her foreleg. And to bring up a possible touchy subject with the alphas. she finished, a chill running down her spine. Nikui "I see," she smiled to the female...so, she was a friend of Hige's. Well, that was a comforting thought. Her ear swiveled a bit at the next comment the female made, "Which would be?" She questioned Loki quietly, trying not to startle the female before her. Zero Dream ((Shia gave me permision to handle Soul while she's grounded so that she doesn't get left behind. Just for the people who didn't see her post in the main thread.)) After Soul had nuzzeled Aoiko awake, the she-wolf and the adolecent dashed out, soon rejoining in pack. "Sorry for being late..." Aoiko yipped. "I didn't really sleep well last night. I guess the move got me excited... and... ... a little worried..." They where heading south... ...right where his old pack was from... Stormy Hound Loki nodded. The pup, Gaara. He befriended me when I thought he would attack, he stood ready to protect me from Faenaro, even though just a pup. He... she faltered a bit, memories stinging. He cried when I made the decision to join your pack. He thinks you.. you don't care for him. she was through, this was it. Would she be banished for even thinking of trying to get Gaara into this pack? these thoughts and many more rushed through her head, making her a bit dizzy. She shook it off internally, and waited. Nikui "The demon pup?" She said coldly, wrinkling her nose a bit...That pup, how ironic it was to run into his guardian. No, she wasn't so cruel as to pass down Loki just because she befriended the pup that Selia had grown to dislike just as she had Feanaro. "That pup isn't welcome here, he is with Feanaro. Feanaro was banished from this pack a while ago," she warned, and canted her head to look down at the femme before her more. "But, you are welcome if you so wish to stay with us."

((um...i'll do page 3 also XD!)) ((edit: PAGE 3! *has alot of time on her hands eh?* )) Stormy Hound Loki nodded. I understand and respect the wishes of you and your pack. I will stay. she would not go back to tell Gaara, feelin that it would only make matters worse. Maybe someday they would cross paths again, but she felt being in this pack with Hige was her destiny. Nikui She nodded to Loki firmly, smiled, and would slowly turn back towards the pack. "Let us go, then." She murmured softly, and broke into a run towards the pack that had continued on, not wanting either of them to be left behind at this point. She would soon return to her place after checking with the other wolves, and look to her mate. "We have a new member," she mumbled, and nuzzled his neck. Stormy Hound She took off after the white wolf, realizing she was dumb to have no asked her name. Ohwell, it wasn't really her place. She'd ask Hige later. Her spirits lifted as she joined the ranks of the moving pack, letting the energy of it sweep her southward. Tahja Estes ((Posting a QUICK post before I go try to get some lunch. ^^))
Hige had to smirk at Thayne's antics. The kid had so much energy even in this cold.
He took a playful n** at his fur as he circled him once, but his attention was divided. He couldn't help but think of Loki, and how had things gone?
He paid half attention to the pups, and a quarter to the rest of the pack, the last three quarters were on the woods around.
((OH MY GOD! O_O;; Gaara is trying to kill my baby?! gonk Hige you're gonna get your fluffy a** whooped!))

When Selia took off into the trees he perked, he had also noticed the scent, and strayed slightly off the path and waited, staring into the trees...
When only Selia and Loki emerged he felt both joy and guilt. He hadn't wanted them to be seperated, but he couldn't deny that he was glad to have Loki come along.
He put on a soft smile and approached her, nuzzling her neck reassuringly. "I'm glad you came," He said quietly. Aris Ravenstar Raine watched as Selia padded off, tilting her head in curiousity before walking a bit closer to Devvyl. She wondered idly what Selia might be doing, but mentally scolded herself afterwards. This wasn't for her to question. As luck would have it, her thoughts were promptly diverted away from that subject due to a male pup flying overhead. She yelped in surprise, ducking down as he sailed over, and then watching him as he padded towards her. "Hello!" She smiled timidly. "Yeah, I'm Raine. What's you're name?" Stormy Hound Loki felt reassured to have Hige with her. After all, she didn't know anyone else in this pack. She nuzzled him back and walked on beside him. You'll have to introduce me to some of your packmates soon. she murmered with a smile, then added I'm glad I came, too. Luce Ravenier [[ Whee! New wolves coming in! ]] Raine seemed rather shy, which was something other than what Thayne had come to expect, having spent most of his time lately around the friendly and outgoing Hige. The shyness of the bluejay pup sobered him a little, bringing out the original somber personality that Thayne had when he and Hige had first met. "M'name's Thayne," he replied with a small smile of his own. He was at a momentary loss for words as he trotted along Devvyl and Raine. "Ever been south b'fore?" Tahja Estes ((Home! And yay for packness!! I can't shake the guilt of this pack having so many, though. sweatdrop ))
"Sure thing, you'll fit right in. I'm sure of it." He kept pace with her, watching their pack as more wolves seemed to be melting out of the trees and converging at every turn. He decided to try to continue with light, aimable conversation for a while to help get Loki as comfortable to the pack as possible. "The young female colored like a blue-jay-bird is Raine, and the pup next to her is Thayne, he's the one I was telling you about last night."
Thayne and Raine seemed to be getting along so far, as well. Hige was glad to see that they were on the path to becoming friends, or rather, packmates, even though Thayne seemed to be getting back to his quiet side again. Hige was sure that eventually the two would feel comfortable enough together to be their complete selves.
Things were looking up as if to try to ease Hige's guilt. He just hoped that Loki and that pup would be on decent terms the next they met. From what he'd heard, the pup, Garra had been rather displeased with his meddling of sorts. "The two that are leading us are Devvyl and Selia, they're also my adopted parents... Elphaba is the female with the brown coat." Hige continued aloud, ears listening out for the rest of their pack. He stopped speaking at that point to let Loki take in what he'd said, and to see if he should go on and tell her the names of the others that would eventually join them, like Yero.
((*stretch* Long post. ^^)) Tweek Dark paws traveling swiftly over the frosty ground, Yero's fluffed black form appeared from the sidelines. He bounced over to Selia with a gentle woof in her ear. " Greetings, Mother!" He greeted with a happy whine, sliding into place. His leathered pads beat enthusiastically, drumming, drumming. On the move, for the first time in his life, revelling in the energy of the cold air that he drunk in like liquid oxygen the movings of the other forms around him, and the knowledge that his love was on his tail. He couldn't help but give a howl as his feet beat the ground under him. Lesotho Another set of paws, sure enough, were right behind him. He had perked up the farther they'd gone, and now that they'd catapulted into the group travelling to the new grounds he was light as a feather. The fact that he couldn't be dragged down in spirit made her smile as she galloped lightheartedly behind him, keeping up with his longer legs. Any doubts about leaving her home by the river had been forgotten in the joy in her lovers eyes. Her own paws beat the snow in rhythm with his, she flanking along his outside side. As she trotted gayly, she gave him an affectionate nudge and gave a yip to voice her happiness, though it was otherwise silent in the snow. Stormy Hound Loki nodded as she followed his speech, her eyes lighting on each new wolf as he introduced them from afar. It was exciting to see all the new faces, and she was feeling at home already. She looked up at him. Go on. she smiled. Tahja Estes ((Hee hee, XD *amusement!* Wah! I haven't had this much fun rp'ing wolves......... well technically this is only my second time rp'ing wolves, but WHOO!!!))
"Yes ma'am." He teased, grinning at her from the corner of his eye as they went. "The two that just joined up are Yero and Whinn, Yero is Selia's first adopted son, and Whinn is his mate. I'm not sure if their other friend will join us or not... and the black and blue one is Aoiko, I don't know much about him, we only met once. The fox-coated wolf is Soul, and I think she's his adoptive mother."
((*counts* Devvyl, Selia, Yero, Whinn, Elphaba, Soul, Aoiko, Thayne, Raine, Hige, Loki, aiyah!! Did I miss anyone? I apologize if so! O.O; ))
Hige reared back a bit and pounced forward, sending snow dusted leaves scattering a bit as his front paws, then back suddenly came back down to Earth. He felt like joining in with Yero and howling himself! Stormy Hound Loki grinned wide, pouncing about him in the snow. Soon she was covered in fluffy white, the sun glistening off of ice crystals forming in her fur. This is great, she puffed. I feel whole again. Tahja Estes "..." Hige watched her playing in the snow, feeling compelled to join in with her... Since he had the slightly longer stride, Hige took a moment to circle around her playfully. "Isn't it great? I never thought pack-life would feel like this." He admitted quietly. It was true, too. When he first came to these woods he was sure he'd be complete enough, even if he were alone, the family that seemed to melt together prooved him horribly wrong in a good way.
This time, Hige DID let a howl loose, a short lived one, but it would not be silenced any longer. He laughed again and took a few bounds himself leaving deeper pawprints in the ground and snow. Stormy Hound This is what being in a pack is supposed to feel like she spoke confidently, the sadness of her old pack fading away. She romped with Hige, paying enough attention to the rest of the pack to be able to keep up with their movement. Have you ever moved before, Hige? I mean.. as a pack like this? she asked. She had never moved and wondered what would go on. Will we stop at all on the way to our winter home or is it not far enough to warrant stopping?
