.[Customs: Rules].

  • While ..... visiting us in the shop/guild we ask that you follow a few rules so that we can make sure this stays a friendly, welcoming environment. Above everything else, we follow the golden rule, and you should treat people how you want to be treated, here. Be mindful of this rule, because you will get what you give, and if you give us disrespect, you will not be welcomed here. Remember, Gaia is meant to be a place where we can come to hang out for -FUN-, please don't ruin it for others by guilt-tripping, insulting, belittling, upsetting, or disrespecting others, or us.

[ 09.27.07. - Thread Rules ]

  • Follow the Golden rule! Treat people how you want to be treated. Use common sense. Under no circumstances are you allowed to purposely upset/anger/hurt, harass, badger, "hint-hint with a baseball bat", or otherwise disrespect anyone here, be they staff or customers. This is a public shop, and I expect for us all to respect one another. This means voice your opinions in a considerate manner. This also means do NOT rip off thread layout or graphics, or coloring from this shop. Offenders will be tracked down and punished! <3

  • Discussions and light OOC RP are perfectly fine in thread. Please keep all formal Role-Play in the guild, though. You'll find it's easier to keep track of (especially with the new forum post system) and you won't have to worry about people interrupting or forgetting to use "OOC-brackets".

  • Please keep "quotes" to a maximum of three. Too many quotes make the thread look crowded and tacky. Likewise, please use URL's for images that would otherwise stretch the page, rather than posting them as images.

  • Staff's word is law! That doesn't mean that staff is allowed to act like total jerks, however. What it does mean is that you need to respect what staff has to say regarding the shop. If they give you an answer, unless they aren't sure, or there is a conflict of information and/or interpretation, their word is final. We do not support or encourage going behind mommy's back to ask daddy, since mommy said no. When momma says no, it means NO, so don't do it.

  • Be courteous! Do not start voicing sudden complaints/flames/tangents about the shop or staff in the shop. If you have an issue, take it up with us (via PM to the mule, or directly to another staff member) first, give us a chance to work it out for you, please. :]

  • Don't beg, whine, and/or pester us about your pet's growth, when sales will open, when customs will open, pricing, or when breedings will be done. We do understand how hard it can be to wait for all these wonderful things, but please remember that we have lives just like everyone else. We'll get to things as -soon- as we can, and if there will be an extreme delay we will take what steps are necessary to make sure that you're informed and/or taken care of.

  • Have fun! Please, enjoy yourself while you're here, and participate often, even if you can't get in but one post a day! We love to see people active, and we also -love- to do games and the like! (Tahja is especially fond of Caption Contests and randomly randomizing pages ;])

[ 09.27.07. - Role-play Rules ]

  • Illegal god-modding is absolutely prohibited/restricted/forbidden. The only instance when such an act is allowed is when you have written permission from the other owner to do so (permission must be written into the previous post, or a disclaimer at the start of the RP.). We will respond to this issue as it is/if it is reported in complaint.

  • Out-of-Character knowledge must -stay- out-of-character. Unless you've discussed and cleared it with all parties involved we do not want to hear complaints about people abusing OOC-knowledge by using it IC'ly. If your there is no way for your character to know something (within the correct time frame) in-character then it had best not make it's way into the RP. This is another form of god-modding and it will not be allowed. We will respond to this issue as it is/if it is reported in complaint.

  • Be realistic. That might sound like a stretch given this is a fictional shop, but there is nothing magical about these dogs beyond what is already listed. They cannot jump extra heights, see through walls, climb trees, run marathons from the Northern tribe to the Southern tribe in a day's time without resting or eating, and they cannot survive fatal injuries. Puppies are of a child's mentality, they do not fall in love and want to grow up to have one another's babies (exception would be a "hopeless romantic", but don't overdo it, and keep it innocent). Stay within the role-play parameters that we've set for you, please and thank you! We will respond to this issue as it is/if it is reported in complaint.

  • Know the risk before you take it. Others are not allowed to kill your UtNL/character without your permission, however, if you willingly put your UtNL/character in a dangerous situation we will allow and enforce IC-consequences. We will, additionally, now allow people to skirt around these consequences by using "Private Role-play" as a block. You are not allowed to invade another pack's territory and flounce all over the place, marking bushes and disrespecting the leading alphas and get away scott-free. That is not how role-play works, and that is not what the "Private" tags are meant for. We will respond to this issue as it is/if it is reported in complaint.

  • Stated above, you are NOT allowed to kill or violently injure another person's character/UtNL without express permission and clearance from shop staff. Keep OOC issues out of role play, please. We will respond to this issue as it is/if it is reported in complaint.

  • Please use "{ORP}" to describe open role plays, and "{PRP}" to label private role-plays. "[OOC]" should be used for journals, shops, and any other out-of-character threads. "[LOG]" should be used to indicate an AIM/MSN/YIM/Email role-play.

[ 09.27.07. - Event Rules ]

  • Each event has it's own set of special rules and proceedures, but overall, common sense/common courtesy applies.

  • Be good sports, weather you win or loose. Don't rub it in anyone's face if you win an event, and please don't "emo" if you loose. Also, a note for the record, false starts happen, it's not the end of the world! :3 Sales happen too often (or will) for it to be made into a big deal.

  • All events will use the tek-tek.org price guide. Shop items 10k+ will be accepted at shop value. Shop items 9.9k- will not be accepted. Only certain Rares, Uncommons, Boxes/Gifts/Trunks will be accepted, and this will be decided mostly on a case-by-case basis (ie: each event will have a list, depending on the colorist hosting it).

  • When staff announces an event date and time we will try to include conversions for all the timezones. For your reference, however, in the F.A.Q. you will find a quick cheat-sheet time guide. Unless you are 100% certain that you are correct please do not attempt to convert the time for others, this will just cause confusion. If there are any questions or uncertainties about the time specified for the sale, take it up with a member of the staff (preferably the colorist hosting the sale).
