Introduction This is a fantasy RP entirely of my own creation. It's somewhat of a practice RP as well as a serious one. I'm planning it to be more story driven as I cannot do combat at all. I don't particularly understand how, so if anyone would like to help me figure that part out, it would be awesome. Anyway, like I said, as this is both practice and serious, it's open to anyone to join in. I'd like to stick to RPing in every post but making notes and giving instruction to those who need in OOC in those same posts. ~:~
We have all of our profiles up and the game has now begun!
If anybody is interested in still trying to join in, feel free to PM me and we can try to find a way to get you in. Please remember though that it may be impossible to do such a thing.

Story
~:~
History
Once, the Hikari and the An’ei held dominance over their land. They lived in peace and enjoyed a quiet tribal lifestyle. For many centuries, this arrangement suited them fine and life was good. In recent decades, however, this life has ended. Humans, bent on conquest and power, found the lands of these people and decided to colonize. At first, the peace remained. The Humans were left alone and they left the other people of the land in peace. Once their numbers grew, though, the Humans fought for dominance in this new land they had discovered. A great war broke out between the Humans and the combined forces of the Hikari and An’ei. Not used to full scale war, they were easily overcome by the vast numbers and technology of the Humans. After many years of war, the Humans held dominance and control over this once peaceful land. Realizing that with time, the Hikari and An’ei could learn to use their powers together against them, the Humans segregated the two races, keeping them in designated settlements with little to no contact with each other. They surmised that if one race launched a battle for freedom, they could easily be defeated due to their daily loss of power, but if both joined together, the battle could be swayed out of the Humans’ control. ~:~
Current Situation With the Humans keeping tight watch on their activities, the Hikari and the An’ei have resigned themselves to living separate lives. They have taken up their tribal lifestyle once again and live peacefully in their settlements. The Elders of both races advise their people to go along with what the Humans order, wishing only for peace after so much fighting. However, some of the younger Hikari and An’ei want to have life with one another again. They secretly find ways to meet with one another. Until recently, the Humans were unaware of this secret contact. Now that they know, the Humans have imposed a new law on the land. They are lenient on punishment for the contact, simply sending any caught in contact back to their own people, but should any couple start a family of mixed race, they are to be murdered along with any child or children they create. Many of the Human soldiers do not understand the reasoning behind the murders but carry out their orders regardless. Since this new law, the Hikari and An’ei have secretly been trying to protect the mixed race families. Some manage to go into hiding, but unfortunately, most are still found and killed. By the new law, the families are to be murdered before their people as a show of power and to warn of what will happen should disobedience continue. Recently, however, one family that went into hiding has disappeared but has not been put to death in the usual public manner. The Elders, fearing for what could have happened, began secretive communication of their own. When neither people could surmise the fate of the missing family, they decided that something finally had to be done. An intelligence team comprised of members of both races was formed to find out what had happened to this missing family and, if possible, rescue them. The time has come to finally make a stand against the Humans and find a way to win their land back.

Races
~:~ HumansHumans are a large race of people. They have no real affinity for magic and their strength comes in their sheer numbers and brute force. They are, however, versatile, and can learn a great many trades and even simple magic if enough work is put into their training. They have no distinctive physical traits and their appearances vary from person to person. They are the dominate race of the land. The Hikari (translated by the Humans as “Children of the Day”)The Hikari are a smaller race of people. They are a magical people whose powers are steeped in light. They are known for their fantastic abilities to heal, but their magic can be used for a great number of other things as well. Physically, they are distinguished by their white hair, golden eyes and a skin marking of a stylized sun. This marking can be found anywhere on the body though is most often on the back of the hand or forehead. This mark glows yellow when magic is being used. The name of this race comes from their peaked abilities during the day and their loss of power in the night. The An’ei (translated by the Humans as “Children of the Night”)The An’ei are another smaller race of people. They are a magical people whose powers are steeped in darkness. They are known for their lethal offensive magic, but their magic, too, can be used for a great number of other things as well. Physically, they are distinguished by their black hair, blue eyes and a skin marking of a stylized crescent moon. Like the Hikari, this marking can be found anywhere on the body though is most often on the back of the hand or forehead. This mark glows blue when magic is being used. The name of this race comes from their peaked abilities during the night and their loss of power in the day. Other RacesMany other races exist in the world and some travel from land to land. Most have already been conquered by the Humans and some try to fight for their control. Others have yet to be discovered by the Humans and still live free. One notable race is the Ankoku, a vampiric race similar to the An’ei. Note: These "other races" are NPC only

Players' Role
~:~
Players Players will play as members of the intelligence team. While most of the team will be comprised of Hikari and An’ei, there are rebel Humans who oppose the treatment of the races that they share the land with. Some of these rebel Humans could join the team if deemed trustworthy. The team needs to be well balanced so “applications” of sort will be required to ensure that there are relatively equal numbers of both Hikari and An’ei. ~:~
Profile As said before, most players will be Hikari or An’ei with only a few Humans, if any at all. To start with, only one character will be allowed per player. Depending on how many players there are, second or even third characters may be allowed at a later date. Use the following format to create a character. Name: Preferably first and last, though only first name is required. Gender: Male or female. Simple as that. Age: Most Hikari and An’ei on the team will be young adults (18 or older). However, rebel Humans may be older or younger. Race: Hikari, An’ei or Human. Other races are NPC only. Physical Description: A description of your character. Include everything about the way they look, including typical clothing and weaponry they may carry. For Hikari and An’ei, also specify where the mark is on the character’s body. Hikari must have white hair and golden eyes and An’ei must have black hair and blue eyes. However, Humans have no restrictions on their appearance. TEXT DESCRIPTION REQUIRED! LINK TO PICTURES ONLY AS SUPPLEMENTS!Personality: A summary of the character’s personality. Include basic beliefs that shape the way they behave as well as a basic run down of how they interact with others. History: Not necessarily required but definitely helpful. Histories will need to be approved to ensure they fit into the basic storyline. Skill Set: Proposed skills and abilities that the character has. There is no need to get overly specific here, just list off the basics of what the character can do. Hikari will be likely to have skills more on the healing side of things while An’ei are more likely to have offensive skills. However, both races also have opposing skills to what they are known for. Humans are versatile and can have a wide range of skills. However, their magic is weak in comparison to that of the Hikari and An’ei. Also include non-magical skills that your character has. Note: I don't know how much the skills will come into play right now as I'm not sure how to go about dealing with combat right now.

Rules
~:~ The rules are pretty basic and I do plan to join in this RP rather than being solely a GM. I'll make this note just to be safe: I hold the rights to change these rules any time I see fit. To make that not seem so harsh, you can also contact me about them if you want them changed, added to, are confused by them, etc. So.. here go the rules. 1. No god-moding - as in, don't declare yourself all powerful and try to run the game like you own it. 2. If a conflict arises where two players post conflicting replies at the same time, the RP will stop until it is dealt with. So if you notice this happen before I do, post in OOC that the RP is on hold and contact me. I will then work to sort out the problem, probably by contacting both players involved. 3. Read ALL replies before replying. 4. Keep it PG-13. Romance is fine, just keep it clean. If you really feel the need to go further than that, continue in PMs and be sure to announce OOC that you're doing this. When you do that, make sure that you keep up with the RP as it continues as you may find yourself interrupted and called back to the group. Be sure not to do this too much though, as you won't really be contributing much to the game and could get left out if you're gone all of the time. 5. ALL profiles must be submitted to me via PM or some sort of instant messaging/e-mail. Any posted on the thread will be ignored. 6. All posts must contain RP. 7. Be sure that all OOC text is clearly marked as such by using brackets or parentheses or some other marker. 8. Follow the Gaia TOS. This forum might be private, but we still need to follow those guidelines. 9. Literacy is required. If you don't write in paragraph format, you will be ignored. Now, you don't have to write a novel for every reply, just use decent grammar and descriptions in your writing and use correct punctuation. 10. Be courteous to your fellow RPers. Don't flame them and keep cursing to a minimum. Now, I understand if your character uses a lot of bad language and that is fine, but in OOC, keep it civil. 11. Be patient with RPers who are still learning. Remember, this is an instructional/practice RP as well as a serious one. If you notice something that is blatantly wrong with a post, please feel free to give advice and tips as to how to improve it, either in OOC or by contacting the player privately.

An'ei Player: Wahoozerman Name: Axus Ichman Gender: Male Age: 21 Race: An’ei Physical Description: Axus stands at about five feet and ten inches tall. His build is light and spry, with muscles defined enough to show, but not enough to show off. He has no real remarkable features to speak of other than the black hair that brushes the back of his collar and sweeps across the blue eyes that mark him as An'ei. The mark of the moon, as seen on many An'ei, is located on the back of Axus' hand. His skin is well tanned and smooth except for his hands and lower forearms, which are rough with the effects of many burns and cuts. The easiest way to define Axus' sense of style would be 'flashy in a simple kind of way.' While his clothing is not expensive or fancy, he wears it well and uses it to great effect on his personal appearance. He favors tones of brown and green in his clothing, so he mostly wears leathers or fabrics with muted colors. One particular outfit he is fond of consists of an off white shirt under a leather vest and a pair of baggy brown pants. Over the vest and shirt he wears a belt circling from his right hip to his left shoulder. On the shoulder of the belt is a curved piece of metal that fits snugly over Axus' own shoulder. going along with the leather and steel motif is a leather armband sewn with a long steel plate along the back that goes around his left forearm. He also wears a simple leather belt around his waist with a steel buckle. From a holster on the left side of the belt hangs a strange contraption. Little more than a tube of combustable substances with a triggering mechanism, this contraption is able to produce a cone of flame that fans out from the mussle for about six feet. On the other side of the belt is a long thin dagger with a blade of around eight inches and a handle of four. On the back of the belt there are four small black round objects with a string sticking out the top of each. Each of these little black metal balls is filled with enough explosive powder to create an explosion nearly a foot in diameter and send little shards of metal up to five feet away from the blast in every direction. These little things are why he wears a pair of leather gloves at all times. The tips of the index finger and thumb of each glove is rough, and will ignite the fuse of the bombs if they are pulled quickly through. Personality: Axus is a nutcase. He is rash and impulsive and seldom takes time to think things through. Luckily for him he usually manages to have the boldness, tenacity, and dumb luck to make it through with his skin intact. He also tends to think highly of himself, not in the snooty way, but in the way that once again, gets him into trouble. He constantly bites off more than he can chew and winds up in situations that take all his luck, and probably the luck of quite a few more people, to get out of. When he isn't in deep s**t, he is generally cheerful and cocky. History: (None at the moment) Skill Set: Oddly enough for an An'ei, Axus has very little magical ability. The most magical ability he can muster is making various substances and powders more combustable. Because of his lack of magical ability, Axus has done his best to master a more technical side to things. He has become very good at fixing mechanical and technical things, as well as rigging up contraptions on the fly from random things he finds. Axus is also very flexable and spry, giving him great ability as an acrobat as well as a high ability to sneak. ~:~ Player: wanderingpoet83 Name: Zeke Yaktah Gender: Male Age: 24 Race: An’ei Physical Description: Zeke stands about 5"6' He has a wiry build, lacking in brute strength but still very capable athletically when he actually pushes himself to do so. He is probably best known for his youngish looking appearance, which causes him also to be mistaken for being several years younger than he actually is, even by his own kind. Humans have an exceptionally hard time with this often believing that he is a young teen. Zeke quickly learned to accept this fact about himself and often uses it to his advantage with the humans in anyway that he can. He is also known for his long wavy hair which he will sometimes grow out in front so that he might hide his eyes, which are sometimes said to have an intense look about them. Zeke bears the crescent mark on his left hand, which he normally wears a glove over when he is among the humans to disguise when he is using magic. For the most part, Zeke seems to prefer wearing baggy clothing that contains multiple pockets, even sometimes wearing a cloak that he has made to look both like the surrounding area and the human settlements as well as being able to contain a multitude of secret compartments. This mode of dress has often earned him the nickname of "Anything Zeke" as he always seems to have the right tool or object for the situation at hand. As for weapons he often prefers both throwing daggers as well as a few longer fighting daggers. The daggers typically are concealed all over his body, almost always ensuring that if he is captured he will have one on him. Occasionally Zeke will add on either a single hand claw that has retractable blades or a small cross bow that he will attach to his right arm. However, since these weapons are slightly easier to be found during a search Zeke only uses them sparingly. Personality: Zeke has always been a tough one to figure out. Growing up some of the adults would joke that he was very similar to the human's onion. Full of layers. He is generally nice and warm to other An'ei and Hikari and is well liked in both tribes as well as most humans he encounters. However, he doesn't take on new friends easily. Even those who know them well, or at least try to claim so, often have a hard time being able to say what he is thinking at any giving moment. Yet that is the one thing that they are often fairly certain about, he is thinking almost always, calculating and planning, able to spring into action with a plan in hand at any moment. However, despite his often pleasant demeanor Zeke prefers to keep to himself, often going into the human settlements to visit or spy on his own. Temperament wise he is known to touch both ends of the spectrum. Most often he is very calm and easy going seeming to care about nothing, but he is also known to show spurts of anger and aggression or passion rallying others when needed. The Elder's occasionally spoken of him as the Hidden or Sleeping leader, one who may come to take a stand someday, but as of yet has shown no signs of interest or actual mobilization. History: (None at the moment) Skill Set: Zeke's abilities tend to have a wide range, but tend to be primarily focused in the areas of stealth, sabotage, subterfuge, and deception. More specifically he is very adept at hiding and camouflage, infiltration, and persuasion (especially with humans). He is an excellent marksman and has taken down targets from great distances with both his throwing knives and crossbow. Fighting wise, his style is one based on technique, dexterity, and speed. He prefers to take out his targets as quickly and silently as possible, however, despite his sometimes avid interest in using a hand claw he does not relish in killing and will often stun a target before killing them. His other remarkable skills is his ability in lock picking as he frequently uses a combination of magic and skill to get the job done, quieting his own sounds with magic as well as using his magical skills to give him greater insight. The other kinds of magic that Zeke often enjoys using are ones to further enhance his stealth abilities giving, as well as a number of curses and offensive magic (only used as a last resort.) ~:~ Player: saiyouri_asakura Name: Kurai Denrei Gender: Female Age: 20 Race: An'ei Physical Description: She is tall with long black hair pulled back into a knot with a black band with a sharpened metal hairpin stabbed in the knot. She uses it for self-defense and pulls it out and either throws it or stabs with it, depending on how far she is from the enemy. Kurai has piercing blue eyes and wear a chocker around her neck with the symbol of a moon. Wears a black tanktop with black pants so she is capable of running fast. She also has a pair of black gloves with grips which help her grip her weapons well, and also climb. She has black pants but her right pant leg has a band so she can strap a dagger to her leg uses it accordingly. She has black moccassin-type shoes, that enable her to run quickly and efficiently without making much noise. On the top of the moccassins, she has sewn on little crescent moons. Her birthmark of the crescent moon is on her left cheek, and lights up when she uses her magic. Personality: Kurai is a quiet, unfriendly person. She doesn't like working together much in groups, but respects her elders wishes, and will if necessary. It is very hard for her to trust humans, she's not fond of them and they will have to really prove to her that they can be trusted before she'll accept them. Other than that, she tends to keep to herself and usually likes sleeping in trees usually above the other members in the group. Her power is strong in the nightime, she usually volunteers to be the night watch. And she has also been taught in the art of creating barriers, so she tends to create small barriers around the campsite. History: Kurai was raised by her grandmother, who is an elder in the An'ei village. She was taught how to control her magic and also how to use weapons. Kurai doesn't know that she is a member of a mixed family, which split up when she was two, to protect the family from being killed. She has a twin sister who is a Hikari, but she doesn't know about her existence at all, and she has no idea of the whereabouts of her father. Her grandmother decided not to tell her about her family's past, and instead hid this fact from her for a long time. Kurai knows her grandmother is hiding something, but doesn't ask because she knows her grandmother would tell her when the time was right. At age 18 she began running small errands and missions, and by age 20 she was asked to be a part of an intelligence team. Kurai agreed and joined the new team, wondering what lies ahead for them. Skill Set: Kurai's magic and physical strength are balanced. She can use her magic to stun, blind, or injure an enemy, but cannot do severe damage. She also can use a pair of sais and stab the enemy quickly and deeply. Then she'll use the dagger that is bound to her right leg to finish the job.

Hikari Player: Gemmetra Name: Esper Tolnus Gender: Female Age: 19 Race: Hikari Physical Description: Esper has white hair like all of her people, that falls down to her mid-back in gentle waves, though she normally keeps it in a ponytail. And she has golden eyes. She normally wears white, flowing dresses, but for her new job her outfit it brown slacks, gray boots, and a long-sleeved gray blouse. She always has a satchel with her that contains all kinds of odds and ends that she may need, and she has a black leather belt. Her mark is on her left shoulder. Personality: She's always ready to help people, even if she doesn't really like them. So it's almost a fault in a way at times. She regrets little things easily, and cries when she feels too stressed. But she has been known to have bursts of courage that not even she is sure where they come from. She believes that something can be done about the humans tyranny with little bloodshed if they play their cards right. And that maybe all three races can live together someday. Though at the moment she isn't very trusting of the humans. And she's a bit gullible and superstitious at times, so other races intimidate her (including humans and the An’ei). History: Her older brother Evan had a mixed blood family, and was killed. It weighs heavily on her mind, because she feels she could have done more to help protect them. Even though there's probably nothing that could have been done. That's why she agreed to join the little group, and was chosen because of her wall-magic abilities. She doesn't want anyone else to loose family this way, and she tells herself that she wants to avenge the deaths of her brother his wife and their two year old daughter. But she feels she isn't brave enough or good enough to actually accomplish such a thing. She is also one of her villages leading tribal dancers, even though she seems very modest and meek and times, she undergoes and transformation the moment she's in her dancer's garb, almost becoming a different person. One who's confident, graceful, and even a little seductive depending on the dance. Skill Set: Esper has some limited healing powers, but they have room to grow. She also can erect mirror-like walls for people to hide behind and no one passing by will know they're there. She's still learning what other magic comes to her people. Other than that, she's pretty good and sewing, and cleaning wounds. And, of course, she can dance pretty well. ~:~ Player: Silver Chibi Name: Tessan Kemantra Gender: Male Age: 25 Race: Hikari Physical Description: Tessan is tall and well-built. He has a lean frame while not being overly muscled and has a very athletic look to him. He keeps his snow-white hair short but not too short, letting it grow to about his ears. It is naturally rather unruly and he always has to push his fringe out of his piercing golden eyes. A childlike smile normally graces his youthful features and he laughs often. His Hikari birthmark, a stylized suncrest, can be found just below his collarbone in the middle of his chest, giving the appearance of a glowing yellow amulet under his shirt when he uses magic. Tessan’s general attire tends to consist of light colors, even white on occasion. He likes to wear slightly baggy clothing and simple soft pale-brown leather boots. His clothing tends to show his figure while not clinging to his every curve, allowing it to breath. A favorite outfit of his consists of a low-cut white sleeve-less tunic and pale brown loose trousers with. It is one of the only outfits he has which actually shows his birthmark instead of hiding it. He likes to wear sleeveless shirts a lot but even when he does not, he always wears twin armbands on his left arm, over his sleeve if necessary. The bands are simple leather braids tied around his arm. The top has two small white feathers woven in, hanging down symmetrically on the front and back of his arm and overlapping the bottom band. The bottom band has tiny iridescent gemstones interwoven throughout it at equal intervals. He ties both with a simple knot on the inside of his arm out of normal view. The two bands were given to Tessan by his father for his eighteenth birthday and he has worn them every day since. When traveling, Tessan often carries an elegant long bow and quiver of white-feather tipped arrows over his shoulder. Sometimes, he also slides a simple leather sheathed knife underneath the armbands on his left arm for easy access. He makes sure to always be prepared and on occasion even carries both weapons at the same time. Personality: Tessan is very laid back. He has a happy-go-lucky attitude and tends to not let anything get to him. He likes to joke and makes an active attempt to keep the mood light when everything seems grim. However, that is not to say that he cannot be serious when the need arises. While not on to like to take a leadership role, he takes orders very well and makes sure to do his part to the best of his ability. He is loyal and friendly and will do just about anything to protect those he cares about or has been assigned to work with. He’s a very likeable and outgoing person, a hard one to stay mad at and one who rarely gets angry himself. When he does get angry, though, he is a force to be reckoned. He has a deadly efficient anger; it drives him to complete whatever task is at hand with silent precision. Tessan is not a very religious individual. He dislikes the idea of fate, much preferring in the idea of free will and the power to change one’s own destiny. He hates being told that something cannot be changed just because it is supposedly his fate. Inquisitive by nature, he would rather investigate the world about him and make choices for himself, regardless of destiny. While he holds no qualms against individual Humans, Tessan wishes for vengeance for his people and the An’ei. He is not very fond of combat, despite the weapons he almost constantly carries with him, and would rather see the Humans sign a treaty and return to their own homelands, leaving the Hikari and An’ei theirs. He sees the need for violence but definitely prefers to forgo it when possible. History: Tessan is old enough to remember the time before the law against mixed families was created. However, he was but a mere child when it was enacted and he remembers very little. Growing up in times of segregation, he knew very few An’ei growing up. He was, however, taught about the brother race of his people and of the times when they once lived together in peace, before the Human invasion. He wishes for the life of those times to be the life of the future but knows that it will be a hard road to get there. His childhood was a normal one for any Hikari child. He lived with his parents and younger sister until he was old enough to live on his own, moving out at age eighteen. The armbands he wears were a gift signifying his independence when he made the move to live on his own. He now has a family of his own consisting of a wonderful wife and a young daughter, both Hikari. He hates to leave them but knows that he has a duty to his people as well as his family. When asked to join the intelligence team by the elders, he thought long and hard before, with the support of his wife, making the hard choice to accept the offer. However, his family is always on his mind. Skill Set: Tessan is a skilled ranger, capable of hitting his mark even in the worst of conditions. His bow is by far his deadliest weapon and he has more skill in using it than any other weapon. He is also proficient at hand to hand combat, with or without his knife. He honed his talent by participating in events and competitions rather than actual hunting. He has never killed another person or animal and hopes to never have to. He much prefers to act as support, using his magic to enhance the abilities of his comrades or to heal them. He is very athletic and this somewhat bleeds into his magical ability. His enhancing magic tends to be to improve the athletic traits of his teammates, enhancing their speed or balance for example. ~:~ Player: MiharuAikou Name: Mira Shio Age: 21 Race: Hikari Physical Description: Mira's white, glowing hair is long and wavy, cascading down to her elbows. Like all other Hikari, her eyes are gold. Her skin is fair, and her mark as a Hikari is on her forehead. Mira is 5'5" tall, her waistline is 24", and her weight is 110 lbs. She wears a tight-fitting, two-piece pink outfit consisting of an off-shoulder top and a skirt of medium length, complete with white boots. Along with her outfit is a pair of golden hoop earrings and a round, golden locket which her parents entrusted to her when she was born. She also carries with her a long sword, its golden hilt encrusted with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. This sword is a family heirloom. Personality: Mira is shy but brave, smart and cheerful, but somewhat clumsy. She doesn't like boys much, and always finds a way to throw insults at them. This is because of how she had always been pestered by and about them during childhood. She believes in fate, and so does not begin revenge head-on, but waits for the opportunity. History: Her ancestors were killed in the war between the Humans and the Hikari and An'ei. She swore a vow to avenge their death someday, and was left behind a sword and a protective locket. Skill Set: Mira has a beautiful, enchanting voice which she can manipulate to do anything she wills it to. She also uses this voice to heal others. Mira is also skilled in swordsmanship. Her locket protects her and other beings whom she shields as long as she wears it open, however only to magical attacks, but when her locket is closed she is vulnerable; without it, she is weak and powerless. ~:~
Human Player: Anabel Sinclair Name: Daezi (Day-zee) Solan Gender: female Age: 18 Race: Human Physical Description: Long lean and lanky, Daezi stands well over six feet and her wraith like stature earned her more than a few teasing jabs comments while growing up (including the one that never quite went away, considering that neither her parents nor grandparents were taller than the average person) However, her obey-the-wind figure has been the doom of many an opponent who underestimated the strength of her rolling muscles and the speed behind her attacks. She might be considered pretty by some, with her razor sharp cheekbones, high forehead and slightly slanted (mostly blue, maybe grayish but no one has ever quite stared her straight long enough to know) eyes, if not for the fact that her body from neck down was peppered and sprayed with a colorful and storied patchwork of scars and nicks, amassed over a lifetime of rigorous physical activities and rough housing. Her voice is perhaps the least impressive thing about her- soft and slow, with the words reducing in volume and increasing with viscosity as her temper rises- and it is rumored that it came to be so out of a general lack of use. One look or lift of her slashed eyebrows is usually enough to convey the prevalent message to others. Another puzzling feature about Daezi is the almost imperceptible limp to her right leg, reported by her parents to have been brought about by an accident while she was still very young. Apparently her mother had been too careless around her on the farm and Daezi had come in contact with the farm horse Jasper. Needless to say who won that contact, however it left a small crushed bone and a small sickle shaped scar on her heel that never quite healed. Personality: Daezi acts on her principles, solely on her principles an they might not make a lick of sense to the next sane person but they are her principles. She put herself through the rigors of weapons training and martial arts for two simple reasons: (1) Her father made the mistake of snickering the first time his daughter was presented around in a full length dress, (2) She repeatedly lost a tree climbing dare to a boy and wanted so many do overs that by the time she finally won, both of them had reduced the tree to a stump. Almost every decision she's made has been brought on by the need to prove someone wrong and motivated by stubbornness.Nevertheless, despite her gale force temper and strength of will, Daezi has also earned a reputation for being reliable- no matter what- and the one person to entrust a life with, because she'll keep that person alive even if it kills them. History: Daezi was once called by her parents an 'evening' child, coming late in their marriage when everyone in the family had given up hope of that barren old hag-her mother- and enjoys the status of being the village's only 'only' child. She was frail growing up, suffering from many bouts of illnesses- including heat rash, which, to her eternal embarrassment, she still suffers from. Skill Set: Excellent sword fighter and marks woman, extensive ranger abilities, including stealth and 'blink'. Her magic is severely limited however to manipulating closed spaces and only recently, lock picking!

((And the RP begins! You don't have to write this much but try to write as much as you can. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask.))
Tessan sat fidgeting in his seat. He was nervous about meeting his fellow teammates, even though he had heard of the two other Hikari assigned to work with him. So many thoughts were going through his head. He thought of his family, what his beautiful little girl and darling wife were going to do while he was away. He hated to leave them, but they gave him their support so he knew it was the right thing to do to accept the appointment by the elders.
He sat, now, looking at those very same elders who had assigned him to this intelligence group. The point was to investigate the whereabouts of a mixed race family who had gone missing recently. That was another thing he thought about: all of the families he had seen destroyed at the hands and weapons of the Humans just because they were of mixed race. He didn't understand what the problem was, why they cared so much about keeping the Hikari and An'ei separate.
Tessan was the only one in the room aside from the elders. There were three of each race, all older men an women. These elders had lived through the war that had waged so long before he was born. They had been his age when it had happened. They had seen the horrors that all young Hikari and An'ei were now taught of. They were a quiet bunch, just quietly regarding him, waiting for the other five members of the team to assemble and fill the remaining five chairs surrounding the table in the small one-room building.
In an attempt to calm his nerves, Tessan took to looking around the room. He admired the paintings and draperies adorning the walls, depicting scenes of the Hikari and An'ei as they had once lived: together and happy in peace. The walls themselves were rather simple. They were made of smooth pale peach plaster. He looked at the ground next, just a plain ceramic tiled floor of a similar color to the walls.

Zeke quietly stole into the room and remained hidden in the shadows. He was uncertain why the elders had asked and later demanded that he join this intelligence group. Something big was going on and he could feel it. Taking care not to reveal his presence he faded further into the shadows using all of the various talents he would so likely use when the mission began to conceal himself.
He waited. As he did Zeke carefully looked at each of the elders of each race. There faces were grim and serious. So this had not been a casual request that they had been making of me. This was serious, he thought to himself. Slowly his gaze moved down to the large male Hikari who was preoccupied with fidgeting in his chair as if he were being secretly stabbed with needles of doubt and worry.
After looking about Zeke noticed that none of the other four members of the so called team had arrived yet. After debating with himself for a moment he decided to remain hidden and watch there entrances from the shadows giving him a good chance of getting a better idea of what they were be like and whether or not he should even join this group.

Esper made her way to the room the elders had instructed her to enter today. She quietly opened the door, and peered inside. The room was dimly lit, but the walls and floor had light colors. That was a relief to her, as darker walls made her feel claustrophobic (sp?) sometimes. Especially when she was nervous.
She silently closed the door behind her, and made her way to the chairs. One of the elders nodded to a particular seat, and she took it hesitantly. She couldn't help but feel like there was someone behind her, watching. She was sitting one chair away from a Hikari man, so she figured that she would probably be sitting next to an An'ei, like how the elders were seated.
She swung her feet, and bit her lip, both out of nervous, childhood habits. Esper kept her gaze firmly planted on the arm of the chair, memorizing the engravings in the wood.

Kurai entered the room where she had been instructed to meet the other members of the intelligence group. She looked around the room her eyes almost glaring at anything that moved. She was not fond of working in a group with others, but since the elders had requested her, and since she respected the elders, she agreed. Now she was wondering if it was a bad idea.
She walked a little further into the room her eyes scanning and coming to rest on the elders. They seemed very serious, and maybe a little worried, so she decided not to press matters much. Just go along with what they say and handle everything later. She turned once more and took a quick glance at the three other people in the room. There were two males and another female, however the other female seemed nervous. She should be, we have no idea what they want from us. And knowing the elders, it's probably not an easy request.
Glancing at the elders one last time, she then picked a seat, far away from the others and sat down. She wondered how many others had been called for this meeting.

Mira stood outside her home, her sword in hand as she practiced its use. She was very fond of this sword, which was a family heirloom, and thus she felt honored to possess it.
She whirled around, and suddenly, she noticed a note lying upon her doorstep. Walking over to it, she unfurled it and read the message. A meeting with the rest of the intelligence group...
She ran lightning-fast, just realizing how very late she could be, and finally, arrived at the meeting place, hoping that she was just in time.
Sheepishly, she squeezed through the assembled people and took her position at one of the seats closest to the elders, and waited for the meeting to begin.

Tessan was becoming more and more nervous by the minute. Forcing himself to, he smiled politely at the others as they entered. The two Hikari women he knew, but the An'ei woman put him even more on edge. Something about her just seemed to set him off, making him feel uneasy and perhaps even a little paranoid. He knew another An'ei was in the room as well, which did nothing to help his nerves. The man was hiding himself, perhaps giving off even more of an uneasy air than the woman who had come in after him.
He turned his eyes to his lap, hoping that something would actually happen soon. However, he knew that nothing could happen until the final member of the team arrived. Tessan fidgeted again in his seat, impatient for the awkward silence of the room to be broken. The elders still remained stoically silent, as if they almost expected the last member, the third of the An'ei, to come in late.

Kurai glanced over and rolled her eyes at the newarrival. How could someone almost be late for the meeting? Her elders had stressed promptness, which she had complied. She sensed a wave of unease and smiled, inwardly. Someone in here wasn't comfortable with concealed An'ei, Or glaring ones, she added amused.
She shifted in her seat for a moment, getting into a more comfortable position. She wondered why most of the Hikari were on edge. She was perfectly fine, and accustomed to An'ei becoming one with the shadows, because it was an An'ei trait.
Kurai glanced over in the corner where Zeke was, positive that there was an An'ei concealed over there. Probably still deciding whether to help or not. He has the right idea she continued thinking. Why had she of all people trapped herself in this intelligence mission request? She should have hid in the shadows and left if she didn't want to join. You promised the elders, and what promises you make, you keep she thought firmly to herself.

Esper took a few deep breaths to try to calm herself. She didn't fare well under pressure, but she had to do this. For her brother and his family. She hated this almost awkward silence as well. And she wasn't used to having An'ei around, but that was the least of her problems at the moment.
So to help calm her nerves so that she wouldn't make a fool of herself if she was required to speak, she closed her eyes, and began to practice dance steps in her mind. Soon Esper was lost to the world as she got caught up in her imaginary dance.
