(I know it's not exactly Medieval, but I still need the information and thought I would discuss it here. Also I reference my own history and time line here so bear with me. )

I have recently developed a need for information on Gatling Guns. The simple mechanics of the machine make it perfect for construction after the loss of technology, and it's successfuly high body toll makes it a devastating weapon and thus one you would see on everything from ships, to pill boxes (bunkers). I also like that it's Civil War, and thus seems odd mixed with Renaissance ships, but that’s what a world without technological boarders is all about.

The Gatling Gun
The Gatling gun was the first successful rapid-fire machine gun. Invented by Dr. Richard Jordan Gatling, a physician, the first model had six barrels revolving around a central axis. Gen. Benjamin F. Butler of the Union Army first used the gun at the siege of Petersburg, Virginia, in 1864-65. Shown here are two drawings of the improved 10-barrel, .30-caliber model which fired 400 rounds a minute. The gun was patented on May 9, 1865, and was officially adopted by the U.S. Army on August 21, 1866. It proved superior to other rapid-fire guns of the time and, for more than 40 years, the Gatling gun was used by almost every world power.

Now that you know why I do what I do I have compiled a few resources on the topic and would love to discuss Gatling Guns, similar weapons, or see your links on the topic. Just try to avoid traditional machine guns, if it isn't hand cranked or worked similarly it won't fit the technological period I'm looking for. I do not personally support any of these links, use the information at your own risk.
