Mo'onasi had felt that it was time for her kids to start wandering around in the jungle, to learn more about the world around them with their paws instead of their minds. The first few times had been petrifying for the first time mother, but with the help and reassurance of Kizuka, she was slowly starting to not panic as much. Kind of. Everything still ate at her, but it was the fact that she kept some of it in, or forgave it quite quickly, that really made the difference.
Today, she had found herself with two of her little army, her little black daughter and one of her two sons. She was mildly pleased that Kimbi had tagged along, because Maji still seemed to remind her of the incident that forced them to exist. She was quickly reminding herself that it was not his fault at all, but that red colour was something hard to kick out of her memory.
She stood just outside of their den, a tight fit for the bubbling group of cubs, but just right for Momo to keep an eye on them when the jungle grew dark at night. She wanted to take a little short walk around, just to keep getting them used to their home.
---
Kimbilio latched onto his mother's side like glue. He was just so scared of everything, and certainly didn't like the teasing that his sibilings seemed to torture him with. Maybe from his mother's standpoint it was harmless, but the timid god cub just couldn't seem to think of it that way. Kituko bothered him the most, but at least she wouldn't bug him like Maji would.
"Mama," he breathed, curling around her forepaw like a snake to a tree limb, nearly tripping the mother goddess. He was scared to go out, but knew better then to talk back to his mother when she had asked him to go with her. Ooooh boy, so scary!

When the invitation to venture out of the small dwelling had been offered, there was no hesitation from Ku'i Ku'oko'a to accept and the little female wasted no time getting herself to the entrance of the cave as quickly as her little, somewhat still new, legs could muster - probably taking one of her siblings out along the way, but she really hadn't noticed.
The sweet smelling, beautiful air and surroundings - okay, so there was a drought but dying sticks was a lot better scenery than an enclosure of rocks really - Ku'i reveled in it, her light purple eyes wide in wonder and awe. "So, where are we going today, mama?" The little goddess asked with enthusiasm, little black wings rustling as she tried to contain herself from bounding around. She needed to stay close, thats what mama had said, even if she did desperately want to run around and play.

Mo'onasi gave her little tan son a nuzzle before turning to her beautiful black daughter. She had certainly been a surprise, almost moreso then the son that carried that red pelt that she had feared for so many months. She swayed her tail behind the black cub, motioning her to keep close. Her olive-coloured eyes scanned the area around them once more before turning her attention back to Ku'i. "Well, were would you like to go, Ku'i? As long as we stay fairly close, I'd be glad to let your little paws do the guiding."
--
Kimbi let go of his mother's side after she gave him a reassuring nuzzle, intent on being just as brave as his sister. He didn't think of it as a rivalry, but moreso like something to look up to in her. He would have to learn to stand on his own four paws someday, but today...he didn't really want to.
He didn't mind that Ku'i was picking where they wanted to wander, though. He felt immensely safe with their mother there. He watched Ku'i with curiosity, his little paws itching as he held himself still.

"I get to pick?" Ku'i pale eyes remained as wide as they had been, not possibly even growing any larger since she was already as excited as can be.. this just seemed to extend the length before returning to any normal size now. How proud she felt that her mother actually felt she could handle this, and her little head instantly looked upon the possible paths but much too quickly to get much of a look of them before she bounded towards one direction.
"Let's go this way! We haven't gone this way ~" She called to her mother and brother, having not gotten too far from the both of them; she was trying to be good through all her excitement, really! The little lioness even slowed down a little and took a few steps back for them to catch up ~

Momo smiled as her daughter bounded up in front of them, happily taking the lead. Good! All of them each needed to learn how to take paths, even if they all looked the same, and deal with what came in front of them. Hopefully there wouldn't ba nything too big to worry about, since she just wanted them to learn these lessons gradually before the goddess would point them out to her children. For now...
"C'mon, Kimbi."
--
The little god felt the nudge from his mother's leg, and he slowly took a few steps forward before following after his sister quietly, only giving a little squeak when he was nudged again. He was going, really! He just...wanted to be careful, that's all. Careful was good, even if he was the only one of his sibilings that seemed to find that most important.
His ears perked forward as he heard a bit of rustling in the dry foliage. "What was that?" His cubbin curiosity was returning.

The little lioness slowed further, her ears pivoting to the sound of his quiet voice. Ku'i's head followed suit and looked upon her tan brother and quirked a brow, "what was-" She began to question him before her own ears twitched to the sound of the rustling bushes. Her gaze snapped towards it and she remained quiet for mere short seconds before her expression changed to a gleeful grin. Her little body shook with more excitement, aa! An adventure today.
"Let's find out!" The little girl exclaimed to Kimbi, not even waiting for him or a response as her pace quickened into a sprint and a leap into the dry brush, bringing cracking twigs and foliage into the air as well as her giggles to find the source of the noise.

The mother goddess kept herself just in earshot of her children, wanting them to learn more about the world with their own small paws, but keeping close enough that if there were any problems, she would be there in a flash. Mo'onasi could not remember much from her cubhood, but she knew that experience was the best teacher, and words did not always stick in the minds of youthful cubs.
So she did not mind when the two of them bounded in front of her, the goddess' tan paws following directly after theirs while she kept her senses clear, keeping an eye on their surroundings.
--
Kimbi's heart stopped for a moment. Wait, what? She was running ahead of them, ahead of Mother! Oooh, this wasn't good. He didn't like it, but Mother seemed okay with it, so....
The little tan god cub bobbed after his black sister, peeking around the foliage, hoping that nothing would jump out and attack them. He did listen caaarefully for that rustling again, but he couldn't hear it. Did whatever make it leave? Or was it....*gulp*...watching them? Oooh, he hoped not.
"Wait up, Ku'i!" he panted, gallopping up to her side, nearly bumping into her. He caught his breath quickly, still listening. "Do you hear it anymore?"

"Com'on Kimbi ~ you're sloooow" The little goddess' giggles increased as more twigs flew into the air from her pouncing and trotting in the dry brush around her. Little sticks and bits of dried grass and vines began to collect in her black fur and in between the feathers of her wings. She paid no attention to them, however, just grinned form ear to ear as she almost forgot why she had jumped in in the first place.
Ku'i ears perked and pivoted at his question, her nose scrunching in thought, trying to hear nay more evidence to the noise from before. Oh yeah, there was a sound wasn't there. "I dunno, do you hear anything?" She paused, turning her head for anything. "Maybe if we split up we can find it ~ it seems real fast and sneaky ~" Ku'i nodded, pleased with her own idea and hopped out of one batch of dead twigs and grass into another.

Kimbi creeped off away from his mother closer towards Ku'i. He wasn't slow! He would just call it cautious. "I'm coooming, Ku'i!" He felt the little bits of deal leaves get stuck between his toes as he climbed around the piles of dead foliage to catch up to his sister, only for her to bounce away, wanting to seperate.
"O-okay," he studdered, really wishing that they hadn't run off away from their mother like that. He didn't realize that the goddess was quite close, and the relatively quiet jungle was easy enough to navigate through when you were as big as an adult.
Kimbi's gold eyes scanned through the dry brush, trying to find what made that noise. He found a little pale feather drifting around the ground. Was that it?

Their mother's reaction to their sudden departure into the brush hadn't even crossed the little cub's mind. Repercussions, signs of danger and trouble and even just if this was just a bad idea for someone so small also hadn't come to mind when she leapt into another pile of twigs. She was little, of course she didn't... and honestly, if there was danger, Mama would have stepped in for she was big and awesome like that.
Ruffling her wings a little from the last leap, the little goddess surveyed her surroundings quietly - an idea she had picked up after taking a glance at her brother - as bits of the heavier debris fluttered to the ground. Cobalt eyes continued to glance around, not paying much attention to her other actions since they weren't really needing that much watch. She craned her head to one side, trying to pick up any sign of noise or visual and was beginning to get frustrated with having no luck. There were a few scattered bugs here and there but none of them really seemed to be big enough to make a loud enough noise. Oh, how disappointing.. had it gotten away? Ku'i sighed then blinked, noticing another feather similar to the one that Kimbi had found. Well, that didn't seem like one of hers, hers were all black!
"Kimbi ~ are you losing feathers?" Ku'i called over to her brother, a hint of teasing in her tone.

Kimbi shook for a moment, a little upset that his sister would claim that he was loosing feathers. Of course not! He wasn't that nervous now...was he? With a worried look, he craned his neck around to try and get a good look at his wings, not even thinking about stretching them out so he didn't have to strain so hard in seeing them. Boys were too silly sometimes.
He could tell that a lot of his feathers were still there, he'd show Ku'i! He swirled his head around to tell her, but he had moved so fast that a light bought of dizziness struck his head, and he flopped over to his side, the world leaving his feet in a split second. "Oof!"
Managing to fall in a pile of leaves, they all poofed up around him, settling on the cub as he was quickly buried in debris of twigs, leaves, and other small, dead vegetation.
Kimbi's ears perked right us as he heard a chuckle. Was that his sister? It didn't quite sound like her, though...not really like anything he'd heard. But maybe Ku'i was just trying to frighten him. "Ku'i~! Dun laugh at mee~!"
Little did he know that a bird was watching him. Not the smartest bird as she was sitting on a large stick that laid on the ground, but looks were always deceiving.

It would have been easier to tell that someone else were in the vicinity of the two cubs if it weren't for the fact that Ku'i had found herself in a little bit of giggle again. Though, the bird's chuckled were of a different nature and sound than the little girl's own, it almost sounded like a weird stereo effect going on. One moment she had been pawing at the little feather she had found herself, to then hearing a sound of distress and a crunch as her brother tumbled into his own pile of leaves and things. She turned instantly to the source of the noise, not sure it had been Kimbi, until she saw parts of her brother sticking out of dried vegetation and a little cloud of picked up things now falling around him.
It couldn't really be helped from her that she almost fell to her side in laughter, he just looked so funny - he always tried so hard to be careful and now look at him. Dirty and covered in things as she was, she was almost proud of him for taking the venture even if it was unintended. "I... can't help it..." She managed, after taking breathe.

Kimbi sat where he was, his face just peeking over the pile of dead vegetation with quite the look on his face. He didn't look pleased at all, a little glare sent out at his sister as he sulked. How mean! He could sort of believe it, though, but he just felt like taking this moment to pout at her.
He gave off a 'hrumph' sound at stuck his tonuge out at Ku'i, but soon realized that it wasn't the smartest idea, as a couple bits of crumbled leaves stuck to his tongue, yuck! Pawing at his mouth quickly, he whined as he tried to get all of the bits of leaves off of his tongue. Though he got most of it, he missed some, and they regretfully made it into his mouth. Double yuck!
Kenna cocked her head at the boy cub, wondering just what the hell he was doing. Did he like to eat dead leaves or something. She gave off a squawk as she glided down onto the ground, giving herself a better position to peeeer at the tan cub in a loooming manner. "Never knew a lion would start eating dead leaves," she said, taking a bit at his lion pride. Pah! They were all the same when it came down to it. Big and stupid.

Aa, just as she was on her way to calming down too. Ku'i rightfully missed the little glare and pout that had been sent her way from her tan brother as she pulled herself off from the ground. Small giggles were still present as her attention went to flexing her black wings, the main reason for the need to stand up again as it wasn't the most pleasant of sensations when they kept pressing into the ground because she was laughing so hard. It kind of hurt really.
"You make it too easy sometimes, Kimbi!" The little goddess exclaimed in glee, turning her attentions to her brother once again. Her mouth snapped shut instantly, cheeks puffed a little as she stared at him and tried to keep herself from laughing at him again over his current actions. He really did seem to fall into all this, didn't he. "... Are.. you okay?" She asked with a few chuckles, ignoring the bird in the process.
Wait... "Ee?" She blinked, realizing there was a third party in the conversation that definitely wasn't mama.

The bird snapped her black beak at the little black lion cub. "Ee, indeed! I swear, little cubs are so ignorant. Running around wherever they'd like to, without even thinking about aaaanyone else," the little bird complained, rambling in the end. She flexed out her wings before giving them a good flapping, brushing a few of the leaves up at Kimbi.
Ewww! First he was full of leaves, and once he managed to get most of them out of his mouth, the little bird had managed to get a couple more to attack his face! "Ack~!" the little godling cried, trying to push them away before anymore stuck onto his face. Quickly deciding that he sould get out of most of the pile of mess, he wiggled his way towards his sister, leaves and twigs falling off his body when they became exposed. He really got to see the bird for the first time, and peered at it curiously. "What is it, Ku'i?" He knew it was a bird but...but it talked back!
