Who: AearHwesta & Seer What: just watch ^_^ Where: The Hiril Anorfalf and her dock When: early morning, 25 September 2007; After Seer has been talked to by Valefor & Rune Why: they're in love! It's high time somebody confessed!
Within his cabin bed a blue and white angelic male stretched. Dawn would be soon. He fluffed out his fur and feathers, then gave himself a quick bath & preened his wings carefully. As he had since the day Seer had learned of his habits the sailor was both light & heavy hearted. He was quite harried too... he had gone 'cold turkey' so to speak after that unknown female on the beach. He had to. It had hurt Seer... and he could never do that again.
Russet eyes glanced at his lonely bed, half tempted to return. In his dreams he could hold her, pretend she was beside him as she had been through that storm. Shaking his snow spotted head Aear hastened his step from his cabin to the galley for a quick bite to eat. His step lightened as he went. There was a chance Seer might stop by before he set out today. She knew the schedule of the tides. Her visits were his true joys these past days, bringing both sunshine & agony at once. But it was worth it to bask in her smile. Each day more difficult than the last for he had to keep himself in check and on guard constantly when around her. It was like he had known though: he had to answer her call as surely as the sea's.
And both were calling today. Maybe the fates would favor the sailor and let him have a time of sailing with the lass today. Absolute bliss and torture. He moved around the Hiril Anorfalf checking her over carefully as the dawn broke over the horizon beyond the docks. His gaze often flicked to the southwest, for it was from there Seer would most likely come. The portal to the kitsu Realms lay that direction. Laughing at himself silently AearHwesta focused his attention on getting the ship ready to sail.

The young phoenix colored angelic was indeed on her way to see Aear, this time with a purpose about her that hadn't been there before. Her fiery colors seemed to absorb the equally fiery light from the rising sun, causing her to blaze in a glory of flame and ash and shimmery mixed colors. Even her strange nonsensical symbolic markings seemed to glow in the light.
She'd gotten up very early this morning to bathe with some very pretty smelling shampoo, and gotten help in brushing herself dry until every hair and feather would have shone even without the help from the sun. She had something very important to do today; though she wasn't sure if she intended to do it right off the bat or wait until after she and Aear were out at sea. She'd been intending to go out on a sail today even before her talk with Valefor and Rune... so it seemed like the perfect occasion to confess her feelings to Aear. And hopefully get him to admit his as well.
Seer spotted the sailor prowling around deck, making sure everything was as it should be, and she couldn't help but smile fondly at the sight. It made her heart ache to be with him; she was suprised she'd been holding back as long as she had, it hurt so. She had to tell him today. She had to.
Intentionally she angled herself to come in opposite the sun, glowing all the more when she dropped her hind legs and flared out her wings to land. Then with more bounce in her step than usual she all but pranced over to throw her paws over his back in her usual greeting, though this time she snuggled her chin down against his back and gave a happy purr. "Can we go out sailing today?" She wanted to see what sort of a mood he was in before she spilled the beans, though she couldn't seem to help being more affectionate than usual since she'd made up her mind. She couldn't help it, she was happy right now.

He caught her scent before ears or eyes had a chance, so wonderfully Seer but with a whiff of... something pretty. It went well with her scent & the sailor was eager to smell it closer. Steeling himself Aear turned to watch her come in, his smile for her arrival almost boyish. Then stunned at the overwhelming beauty of her arrival. Nothing in the world was as beautiful as the sight before him. "Seer!" He exclaimed happily, tails swaying in a welcoming wag.
Aear was ready for her welcoming 'hug' smiling as she threw her paws over his back loving and enjoying the feeling, saving it for his dreams, steeling himself from reacting too much while letting himself react as much as he dare: putting a paw around her and hugging gently. He tensed a brief moment, shivered then realized while regaining composure at the unexpected -and much too much enjoyed- snuggle of her chin to his back and the purr that accompanied it. A low echoing purr very faintly answered inside of him. It was very difficult for Aear to keep in control but he did it. "Sail, Lass? Why o' course!" He smiled, tails moving a bit more energetically. Sailing! Seer! Te terrible joy & ache! "Was hoping ye might want te today. Everything's perfect fer it."
Love flickered and was quelled quickly behind the honest joy in his eyes. He could have these moments with her. It was more than he deserved.

Seer chirped happily and wagged her tails, giving Aear a lick on the back of the neck before trotting off to her usual routine before they went out. Once at her station she waited patiently for Aear to guide the ship out, a thoughtful and slightly distracted smile on her face.
The morning air at sea was exhilarating. Ah, she'd missed it so. She hadn't gotten in much sailing since she grew... she really didn't know why, things just seemed to have gone that way. Once they were safely out and there was no real need for her to remain at her post she trotted over to the rail and hopped her forelegs up on it, flaring out her wings to enjoy the rush of air. The sunlight hadn't stopped giving her its loving glow and now glittered off the many tiny water droplets from the seaspray that dotted her fur and feathers.

Her little chirp was so endearing... he smiled at that & managed to barely repress his body's shudder at the lick she gave the back of his neck. AearHwesta had to wait until her back was tuned and shake himself out firmly to attempt to rid his head of the thoughts that called to mind.
Once he felt his mind was suitably his own again and he had given a nod and a smile to see Seer so dutifully at her post the sailor hoisted anchor & got the Hiril moving out to sea. The winds were perfect for sailing a ship such as this today. The sky brilliant. Not as brilliant as Seer, glowing upon the deck. He watched as she went to the rail, enjoying her beauty as she enjoyed the wind and sea. Enjoying how she enjoyed the wind & sea. Magical flame, with her rainbow hues of colors like some molten fantasy. The sea spray clinging to her sparkled, making her hard to look at. Aear touched his head to the helm, closing his eyes to the sight of her to calm himself again. More the fool he... jealous of the glittering beads of sea-spray!
When he was calm and the sea before them safe for some leagues in te direction the wind carried them ArearHwesta set the helm to course and trotted down to Seer's side. He did not dare touch her, putting his forelegs over the rail and closing his eyes to the overly brilliant sight of her more than the spray of the water or the wind in his face. Seeing her on top of her scent being so near, filling his nose & being, would just be too much to take at once for very long. And he wanted to remain by her side for a while. As long as he could."Tis a great thing, having ye sail with me once more."

Seer turned to look at him when Aear came up beside her and saw that he had closed his eyes. Was she having that much of an effect on him these days? The desire to draw closer was almost unbearable... she felt like she was going to burst if she didn't do something. "Aear..." she murmured, voice dropped to a husky whisper in spite of herself, "I need to tell you something..."
With face flushed and heart pounding she put one paw over his shoulders and turned his head with the other to face her. "Aear, I love you." She pressed her nose to his and repeated it softly. "I love you..." Then she went through with the rest before she could get too nervous or he could protest and kissed him.

A shiver went through him at the way Seer said his name. Perhaps his control was not as great as he had hoped, for he must be imagining the husky quality in her voice.
Before Aear could do anything about his dry throat so that he could say something about how he would listen to anything she wished to tell him her paw was on his shoulder and he was letting her turn his face to hers like a kit being led, his eyes opening in surprise that she would do something like that. She could have simply asked him to look at her.
Aear stared into her violet eyes, concentrating. She was so beautiful, but something in her eyes… what? The sailor could not believe his ears. No. He must have heard wrong. The wind in his ears… Her nose to his was more difficult to deny, his eyes widening –aching for her, hopeful, yet uncertain… disbelieving. Then she said it again. I should pull back… lass doesn't know what she be saying…. But she did not give him that chance, her mouth upon his. Dreams of her combined with instinct and soon AearHwesta was kissing her back, eyes closing. Not passionately, though there was certainly the trace of that like the sharp hint of cinnamon. His kiss was tender, loving, longing, joyous & quite experienced as his forepaws moved to hold her, gratefully pulling her close. AearHwesta felt he could die happily right there. He loved her. She loved him...
All at once he backed away, a pained, guilty look in his eyes quickly covering the blazing joy & love that where there. "Nay..." His voice cracked brokenly while full of love and husky as well. "Nay Seer-love. I should ne'er touch ye like that. Like..."
Anguish. What had he done? Given in? He closed his eyes from the brilliance of her, a silent sob shaking his body. He could still hear her voice, husky, honest, saying that she loved him.. Not a child's love... he had heard that... felt that in her kiss. "Nay Seer-love. It isn't right... " So his words said, but the light trickle of tears from his closed eyes as he turned his cheek to her shamefully said his heart felt otherwise and longed to kiss her again, to hold her close forever. But he didn't dare.
He could not tell her she did not know what she was saying. He knew Seer. She would know what she was saying. But... "Ye deserve a lad better'n me, love."

Seer was hurt for that moment when he pulled away, but stubborn determination took its place and she moved to him again, tucking her body close to his and putting a wing around his back while she ducked her head under his chin.
"I love you. You mean so much to me... who could replace you? Who could replace the Hiril, and our sailing trips? Our time together? You know me better than anyone Aear. You know I've given this a lot of thought." She kissed the underside of his jaw. "And would you really trust someone else to take me sailing and take care of me as well as you do?"
She sighed and shook her head slightly without moving her head away from its close contact with him. "Besides... aren't I the one who's supposed to decide whether or not you're good enough for me? I..." She did pull back a little bit then, but only to take his head in both of her paws and force him to look at her. "I've made up my mind about this, Aear. I'll chase you if I have to. I love you and I'm not giving up on you."

Another aching, silent sob shook his body as Seer tucked herself beside him. Aear had only enough strength in him to draw aways from her that one time. His heart knew he could not pull away again. He could deny her nothing... not even himself. Especially not himself when he loved and wanted her beside him so much.
But he could not speak as she made her points, shivering in joy and disbelief with his eyes still closed as Seer kissed the underside of his jaw and elicited a low rumble of pleasure from him. In his mind he could see her dark little maw pressed there even as he felt the breath of her words.
His breath was both relief to get a chance to calm and pain that she was no longer as close as a moment ago but in that moment AearHwesta tried to collect some calm before she took his head in her paws. The look in his eyes as they opened was mixed: defeat & resignation, the feeling that despite her words and maybe even because of her words with their wisdom regardless of her age that he was not worthy of her, delight that she was so strong & determined, joy as he realized what this would mean, fear as well, but stronger than all the other emotions was the love he had for her washing over the barriers within himself.
"There's nay need fer a chase, love." Aear said tenderly though his voice was breaking. Sighing he closed his eyes lightly kissing her nose before pulling her close to him in a motion that was far from smooth in an almost desperate need to hold her & have her near. He shuddered, cheek to hers, muzzle by her ear. "I can't fight us both forever, Seer-love. Only had enough in me to resist ye once... I'm weak wi' love fer ye. Yer in me soul... ye call te me strong as the sea herself... wouldn't get very far i' flight fer ye'd be callin' te me like a siren..." He sobbed softly, though only a few tears fell. "Please... ne'er go sailin' w' som'on else... less'n I be w' ye..."

Seer rested her chin over his shoulder and purred softly, partly because she was happy, partly because she wanted to comfort Aear because he seemed to be about to fall apart. The love in his eyes, the words he spoke, settled on her like a blanket of joy, tempered only by the doubt he held of his worth. "We'll be happy, Aear... I'd know, wouldn't I?" She nuzzled behind his ear tenderly. "And why would I want to go sailing without you? Besides... if any other kitsu has a ship I've not heard of it." A flash of mirth danced in her eyes and she stuck her tongue out playfully at that. "One thing, though... would you mind... smiling?"

He did better than smile. At her one request Aear chuckled softly, burying his muzzle in her neck beneath her ear then kissing her there very lightly. Once. Twice. Three times. He pulled back just enough so they could see each other's faces. He was smiling like a youth in love, a sort of wild dreaminess. There was still considerable amounts of disbelief in his russet eyes but the joy over powered them. "Nay love... wouldn't mind at all."
A flash of sudden impishness in his eyes was her only warning before Aear leapt from the deck, strong forepaws wrapped tightly around her holding her to him. He flapped his wings for added height then spun the two of them like a supercharged top, kissing her deeply but quickly mid-air then twirling them back down to the deck of the Hiril. And he was laughing. Deep and joyful and vibrating through his chest. When their paws touched down his laughing eyes sought out her violet orbs. "Will tha' do, Seer m'love?"

Seer squeeked in suprise and then squeeled in delight for the brief moment before he kissed her. Then they were on the deck again and she was laughing, hugging him to her and wagging her tails happily. "Yeah, that'll do."
