I've got enough to do without playing videogames!
...
Ignore the fact that I'm on Gaia, please.

XD I've also got enough to do without video games. Unfortunately most of those other things require inspiration, motivation, concentration, getting up off the couch, etc. Video games... I can just sit down and play and not think about anything else for a while. cool
Well, I waited outside GameStop for two and a half hours waiting for the Midnight Opening release of Halo 3. I made a new friend XD
And Halo 3 rocks, but the new control layout is kind of awkward. *shoots a Grunt*

I think it was released in Sweden yesterday night... And I played it today!? How did my brother get it...? Perhaps it belongs to one of his friends... They're having a video game playing night here, so I guess one of them bought it and brought it here.
Anyway, I liked it, but as always, I suck at video games and wasn't able to shoot anyone...

I'm pretty good a the "shooting the other people" part.
I'm awful at the "don't get yourself shot" part. sweatdrop
Unfortunately, all my "Halo buddies" live back in my hometown, and they don't have their own Xbox 360's, so I'm stuck either playing through campaign alone, or finding random strangers online to play against/with. It's still crazy fun, though. cool

Xeigrich Then you're missing out. mrgreen I just... don't... GET them... Does that make any sense? I played Halo once as part of this sort of... study? I guess? It was an excuse to play halo in class, really, but it was okay. I wouldn't go out and buy the game for it though. There was some game online just like it, anyway, that we played while we had a sub in compsci. (*references XKCD's comic on "compiling!"*) SO I'm like the only guy who hasn't gone and partied all night in front of the console. Oooh, exciting. Actually, I haven't gamed in a while :O How sad. I can't... actually... bring myself to be sad, really. Wow. Weird. Maybe I'm growing out of video games. Or maybe I'm just too busy to bother right now. *glances at whiteboard* Why the hell am I online!?

Or maybe I'm just too busy to bother right now. *glances at whiteboard* Why the hell am I online!? I used to not 'get' FPS games, until I played Halo on PC and realized that I wasn't losing interest in video games, I was just losing interest in slow, repetitive, redundant RPGs and platformers, which were all I had ever really played. Stuff like Final Fantasy, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario, Ultima, etc. I believe The Legend of Zelda series has been the only constant in my preferences in all my 16 years playing vidjagaymz. Sure, FPS games get redundant too, but it's harder to get bored while running around with an adrenaline rush pulling the trigger like mad. I never got that kind of rush of fun when playing Final Fantasy :b When I was little, I'd play any game I could get my hands on, which was mostly the same games I'd had for years, and whatever emulated games I could find. I'd play them over and over and over, sometimes just because it was better than lying on the bed, drooling on myself (as there was nothing fun to do outside in the 110 degree humidity). These days, I'm REALLY PICKY, and I only play games when I really feel like it, not just as a way to pass the time. I don't like the feeling of sitting down to play a game, and halfway through a level, it's like biting into a stale chip in a bag of your favorite flavor of chips. sad So, then, Forgedawn, what kind of games do (did) you play?

hmm.
Zelda now, mostly. Beat the new one. Only ones I've got that haven't beaten are Windwaker and Majora's Mask--mainly because I got bored with WW and the gamecube got buried (and I didn't feel like going "treasure hunting" for triforce shards anymore, ugh), and the N64 also is buried razz I was playing recently, though. I replay Ocarina of Time every now and then, though.
Used to be a few PC games a lot... Cosmo's Great Adventure, Jazz the Jackrabbit, Duke Nukem (the 2D version), #1 Agent, that one with the mines, 7-up Spot, Silver... Man, those were the days. *goes and gets some of that gum he found in the vending machines downstairs* Mm, tastes like nostalgia.

I've played and beaten dang near every Zelda game, although I too got bored by the end of Windwaker... I think I just needed to go beat Ganon and I'd be done, but I just never went back and did it.
By the "new one" do you mean Twilight Princess? Because I think The Phantom Hourglass for DS is out, now (not a big DS fan, so it will be a while before I get it).
I never played many PC-games, mostly because I didn't have a computer at home until around 2000, and even then it was an outdated piece of crap that could only play NES emulators and solitaire. By the time I got a computer that could actually play modern PC games, I'd already gotten so deep into console gaming that playing PC games just never felt right.
The only games I still like to play on PC are classics like Diablo II and Command & Conquer 2: Red Alert, which are really hard and frustrating to play using a controller.

Twilight Princess, though it'd be funny if htey came out with a "Legend of Zelda: Toilet Paper!!!" razz I despise DS and do not have one. Eh heh, those games were uhh... when I was... hmm. 5? *struggles to count years* I really suck at time. That thing ran on some weird dos-ish-OS and had 3.1 installed as an executable program. xd
