Look up the JKD concept schools and inquire if any of the instructors there have been trained by/have trained extensively with either Jesse Glover, Dan Inosanto, Tommy Carruthers, or Edward Wong fron Vancouver, Canada. That should tell you whether the school is good in certifications because all those people I named are either pivotal members in developping Jeet Kune Do or people who have had direct lineage training from those people.

Also, I think I know someone who lives in Toronto. His name is Fitz and I think he's a bouncer now. Look him up and ask him what martial arts school he goes to, 'cause he's a talented martial artist.

Hi, cool - I recognise Jesse Glover, Dan Inosanto names from my research and I have found a couple of places in the T-dot that say they have are from that lineage.

I am concerned as they keep saying JKD 'Concepts' - Any thoughts as to what they are referring to by this?

If you have this Fitz gentlemans addy I will certainly speak with him regarding this, or if you want to pass my info along that is fine too. ryanclark13@yahoo.ca is my addy. And no I have no fear of spam, that's what email filters are for lolz!

There is a MT and also a Krav Maga school that I have found that has some strong recommendations that I would like to check out additionally.

Thanks!
Ryan

Hi,

Just following up to my recent query. Anyone know what is JKD 'Concepts' are? Other than the obvious (ie.taking ideas from it etc.) My gut says billing like that is likely to be BS.

Thanks!
Ryan

Actually, Danny Inosanto's JKD school is a JKD concepts school. JKD concepts is just specifics. Since Bruce Lee wanted to make sure that people knew that JKD itself was a philosophy and not a martial arts style, the martial arts style that he developped (which was PREVIOUSLY called Jeet Kune Do) was changed to JKD concepts, since the style characterizes this martial philosophy; albeit the fact that it's a concrete style.

In short, No. JKD concepts school are far from BS.
