What happened to my little into? Hehe... must have been deleted since it was out of date.
Well, lovie, I decided to get rid of it, and here I am again, editing the front-page. XD This is going to stay as a main thread, you know.

Welcome to our clan, the wind seems to whisper as the mountains are bypassed. The Clan of Illusions is still small, but they more than make up for it in rich, unadulterated land. It will be difficult to come by a trace of civilization here, but for now, the fresh mountain air is, well, fresh, no?

Taken from the land descriptions writ by her Highness Reine Ar'kzal.
Mountains surround the Clan lands to physically ward off all strangers;
however, look closer and the paths will become visible. A harsh training climate,
the mountains are only for the rugged and most merely use them as a means of leaving the territory.
Although, they do seem suspiciously full of magic....

Once you reach past the mountains, the land opens up into a rather pretty forest,
filled with all sort of wildlife and vegetation. It is cheerful--not at all gloomy--but take care:
druids reside here in the forest and not one being of the Clan knows exactly when
their unpredictable tempers shift from red to blue...

There is no other place like the river of the Clan. It is the only fresh-waterway
that loops through all of the land, and water elementals gather to gossip, bathe, and occasionally train.
As well as being the only way to reach the Château des Illusions, it also serves as a distraction to outsiders,
using illusionary powers to lead them right back to the start of the mountains.

Banshee, the well known name of Seplaverta while shifted into a black and teal-marked panther, strolled out of the forest and stopped at the edge of the river to take a drink and examine her reflection. Curiously, the teal markings on her face didn't seem to glow when viewed in the water. A butterfly flitted past her face and distracted her from her previous thoughts. How fun, she thought as she chased the butterfly up and down the river, pouncing to catch it only to let it go so she could play with it again.

Renee knelt down next to the stream and stuck her finger into the water. The sunlight coming through the leaves on the trees dappled her gray coat making her look almost like a rock. It was peaceful here, suiting the assassins mood. Not that she had many. Renee watched as a minnow swam just below her finger, Renee gently stroked it back and watched it dart away. She gave an amused snort and leaned back away from the water. It really is nice here, she thought to herself.

As Banshee pranced around the river happily with the butterfly she was tormenting, the assasssin by the river caught her eye. She leaped forward curiously and lost the butterfly, to her disappointment. She watched as it flew high in the sky until it was out of view then turned her gaze towards the assassin, mistrust in her eyes. She disliked shady characters, and this assassin didn't look anything like a friendly daisy. She sat down without shifting her eyes and continued to stare. A newer member of the clan but...

Silently she waited for the assassin to make the first move.

Renee watched from the corner of her eye as Banshee sat down and watched her. It didn't really bother her, she'd been stared at all her life for one thing or another.

"Its a nice day, uh?" Renee said evenly waiting to see what would happen, her primary attention still on the river in front of her.

"Very nice, yes." came the voice of Seplaverta as she shifted back into her original form. Her cloak was heavy and very inappropriate for the hot weather gracing the area so, thanks to a new trick she had learned when it came to shifting and clothing, it seemed to vanish into thin air. She stepped next to Renee and squatted, attempting to see what she was seeing. "You're new here?" she asked after failing to find anything.

Anticipating the answer, she plucked a golden flower from the ground and held it in front of Renee. "Welcome," she said with a cheerful squeak.

"Thank you." Renee said taking the flower and breathing in its scent. She gave a slight smile then looked over at the slightly older woman. "And yes, I'm new here." she said. "I've never been in a place thats so relaxing...its very...refreshing compared to where I usually work." she finished adding a mischievous smirk.

"What about you? What do you like about it here?" Renee asked after only a slight pause.

"Me? The forests." she said with a broad smile. "There's nothing like perching on a tree and listening to the earth talk. And it's so, so -for lack of a better word- green." Seplaverta felt silly for describing the forest in such a child-like way so the subject had to change. "I'm Seplaverta, by the way, you're named...?"

/That's "Renee," isn't it?/ T'evair chattered as she emerged from the vantage point in the trees, a ring of daisies wreathing her midnight hair. Odd, opalescent orange eyes peered happily down to her friend and the unknown one. /Mother asked for you because she needed a help around the castle, right? It's always good someone's here to help fend off monsters!/ Pulling her white summer dress off of the branch she hung on, feeble withered wings batted pathetically as she jumped down.

/Well, I can hope./ the girl sighed, referring to her wings. /By the way.../ She took a sly glance at Renee. /You won't tell Lady Elana I'm here? I just don't feel like training on such a good day!/ Turning her dark head to the sky, the young heiress breathed in the fresh air.

Renee tilted her head to one side as she looked at the child. She'd always liked children. "Thats right, I'm Renee. Renee Aarons." she said. "And you are the Queen's daughter? I didn't know she had any children, but then again your mother only hired me a little while ago." she then turned to Seplaverta. "Its nice to meet you. Both of you really." she said allowing herself to smile at them.

Seplaverta was quick to meet T'evair as she landed to give her a hug. "Hey there!" she greeted her happily. "Skipper," she added to make fun of her and scold her at the same time. "But I won't tell, I promise."

Turning her attention back to Renee for a moment, Seplaverta bowed her reply, "You are much nicer than I first suspected. It truly is wonderful to have a new face around. I don't really see much of those who already live here as it is."

Renee let the smile slip from her face and felt her cat ears droop a little. "Thanks." she said retreating a little into herself. She'd been a little to exposed at that moment and it made her uncomfortable. "I don't talk to many people period." she said stuffing her hands into the pockets of her jacket. "Guess it's a hazard of my profession." she said smiling weakly trying to make it into a joke.

Inside Renee gave herself a dressing down, she was always afraid of the extremes of her emotional state, and here she was getting a little carried away and now she was going to confuse the two, and maybe ruin the chance to be friends.

FriendsRenee mulled over the word. It was slightly strange to her...she didn't have many friends...

Noticing Renee retreat a little, Seplaverta hesitated continuing any conversation. "Um, I- uh-" Words failed her and she hated herself for those moments of utter stupidity. Finally she managed to utter a complete sentence "Your profession is... intimidating. I won't lie."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2007 6:13 pm

"Its a facade." Renee said quietly. "A good thing for someone like me to hide behind, because it explains...no it allows for me to behave this way." she said pulling out one of her hands and flexing it.

She then looked up at Seplaverta. "Well, enough about that." she said putting on a cheerful face that had nothing to do with her internal mood. "What about you. I'm afraid I don't know what much of anyone else does around here."

Elana was dozing near by, half asleep from being soothed by the plesentness of the surrounding area when she noticed the three out of a wandering eye and watched silently.

~T'evair, I don't mind that you're here, I could use some peace and quiet myself.~

For the past couple weeks after returning Elana had been in training again, intisapating something to happen in the near future. It was nice to see a change in sceanery (sp?), the peacefulness was much more desirable than where she had been training with those harsh surroundings.
