From what could tell, the sun was rising or had risen enough to give the heaps of dried bone and high blocks of rock enough light to see all a little better than usual. Well, from where the female was currently located maybe was a little harder than most to tell the time but she tended to in the shadows no matter what the time of day. Zoma often fancied on the idea of heading out to watch an actual sun rise upon the horizon, but she alway feared she would never find her way back in the Graveyard or worse yet, find her way in but in the lion's territory - though, now she wasn't so sure that would be so bad given recent encounters.
The black and white female hefted a sigh as she sat between the ribs of a long dead elephant. A front paw stretching its digits and digging into the grey dirt beneath her form in complete boredom. The usually overly cheerful hyena was just that, bored and a little down and unsure of what to do or where to go - like it mattered really. Unfulfilled, maybe thats what she was feeling, she wasn't sure. She closed her cobalt eyes as she hung her head a little lower in thought, trying to think of any next move she could make

God dammit the mornings...always the mornings...the male narrowed his eyes against the light, or as much light that could get through the fog that surrounded the graveyard before he stretched his paws out of the den and slowly stepped out.
Kimwondo wasn't particularly large, but neither was he really weak, he was a skilled hunter with a powerful bite and an even more powerful grudge against the other gender. His light violet eyes wandered over the shadows before he stepped down from the skull he inhabited and then made his way to find some food. ...Well...atleast he would have if he hadn't noticed her.
Of all hyena's he had to meet this morning, the first had to be female, didn't it? He narrowed his eyes slightly, ears flattening against his skull and some of his neck as he watched her closely and let out a loud, warning growl her way.

Her dark ears perked instantly when the sound of the growl reached her, as did the rest of her face, up and over in his direction with wide blue eyes. So early in the morning and already? The sun seemed to have just broken through and she had already gotten herself into a confrontation ... and another mean hyena. Zoma's expression turned from surprise and shock to disappointment, her ears swiveled to her skull as she picked up the rest of her body and took a small step back from the angry male.
.... well, maybe he's just not a morning person or you're sitting near or on something important? He could just be territorial, she tried to tell herself and cheer herself up. "Hello ~" She began, putting her best face forward and attempted to muster her usual personality up, "Did I intrude on something? I'm really sorry if I did ~" Zoma dared a step forward towards him, hoping that if she didn't appear to be a threat he wouldn't take her as one.

As the female stood there and tried to ask him what she'd done wrong, his snarl vanished and his ears perked atop his head, staring deeply into her eyes with a cool anger as he slowly stepped down from his skull. His paws became dirty from the dusty ground as he watched the female closely before snorting, quite rudely, in her face.
"Lemme guess...another pack member?" He asked un-enthusiasticly as he stood there, head lowered as he continued to glare and snarl slightly at her for no reason. It seemed her meer appearance had caused so much violence in him.

Well, okay. That was a bit unexpected... or maybe it should have been, given how lucky she was with her other hyena encounters. Zoma scrunched her nose on reflex when he snorted at her, and she quirked a brow but remained where she stood before him, unmoving and unsure if she should. He hadn't answered her question really, so perhaps she was safe to remain where she was - that was until he like attacked her or something and that wouldn't be fun, nope. But, she held onto the hope that he wouldn't; oh how she held onto that hope.
"Yup!" She responded, her cheerfulness still steadily returning to her, "I sure am. My name is Zoma." She gave an enthusiastic nod with her introduction oh so ignoring the glaring and the snarling. Introductions made things better, sometimes...... okay not usually with this bunch but it was worth a shot. Be nice, he'll maybe back down from that angry glare that could only signal he was so going to kill her in a few moments.
"Are you as well? So many I haven't met," she went on without a thought or care, "I wonder how many there are now....." Her cobalt eyes went skyward for a moment in a paused thought until she met his gaze again. "So, whats your name," Oh here it came.. the nickname, "Snarls?"

The male shared none of her enthusiasm, staring at her as he arched his head back and scratched his paws against the ground and then made his way towards her. He was moving slowly, almost reluctantly as he sniffed at her as he stood a metre away now and then narrowed his eyes. What a cheerful female...it disgusted him and he shook his head from side to side to get the dust out of the mane on his neck.
Kimwondo simply stared at her with dull face as he was called such an insulting nickname, before snorting at her.
"The name is Kimwondo....'Zoma'." He said disdainfully as he stood there before beggining to circle her, looking over her form as he sneered slightly at the sight of her. He seemed to be very sour and sore at her for some reason.

Perhaps Snarls wasn't the best choice of nickname for him, now that she thought about it. Snorty or something dealing with glaring and circling would probably be more fitting, especially something like Snorty. Again, on reflex, her nose scrunched and she bit back a sneeze from the dust that had picked up from when he shook off the dust from his mane.
Man, males were weird, weren't they. Though, females weren't much better.
"Kimwondo ~" She repeated after his introduction, allowing herself to hear it from her own voice. It was nice, but couldn't beat a nickname, which she just well opened her mouth to comment about before just not saying anything. She watched him begin to circle her, really not phased by the gesture but a little more confused to which she quirked a brow to. Her eyes followed, then followed with pivoting her head to watch him as far as it would allow.
"um...." Zoma questioned, "Why are you circling me?" That... couldn't be good, could it? Well, unless he was checking her out or something. Oh weird. "Are you part vulture or something?" Stupid questions with added jokes? Of course, thats how Zoma worked.

The male continued to circle her before he was asked exactly why he was doing so, staring at her for a second as she called him half vulture and then snorted once more. He certainly liked to snort didn't he?
"I like checking out people I've never met...I can't be sure you're friendly just from one meeting now can I?" He said, staring at the female before he moved to her front and sat down quite calmly. Or as calmly as any agitayed hyena could and his ears flattened against his skull.
"So...what are you doing around here?"

So far, he hadn't attacked her which was fairing pretty well in her book. This really was looking to be her best encounter ever with another of her own kind, well ... again, so far and she didn't really want to get ahead of herself and think too soon. But, it was going pretty good and it was definitely raising her spirits. All Kimwondo had done so far was snort at her, which didn't seem too bad really - though, Zoma wondered if it was more of some nasal condition he had and that could be bad. She'd have to ask him the next time he did it.
"That makes sense, I suppose," She replied with a nonchalant shrug, placing her own bum on the dusty ground, "You're just the first one to ever do it, so had to ask and such. Most of the other hyena I've met just take one look then either steal my food, attack or just be snooty. Doesn't hurt to be cautious ~" The female continued with a small giggle, perhaps a bit too perky for all the troubles.
"Aa," She paused after his question, a little embarrassed as per usual with her situation, "Um, nothing really. Was just taking a break from wandering around and such." And was lost ... like usual, but that little bit could be left out. "And I noticed the sun was coming up and such, so was hoping that I could watch the sun rise but a lot of bones and hills and rocks were in the way so it made it difficult."

Kimwondo's ears flattened back as he listened to her, but despite this, every word before he shook his large muzzle and watched her closely, he didn't look like he trusted her at all. He lifted one of his paws and gently licked it, cleaning it off the dirt that seemed to be everywhere in this damn graveyard before he finally decided to speak to her once more.
"As if you could see anything through this detestable fog anyway..." He said sourly, muzzle wrinkled back in a silent snarl.
"So...you have any relation to the pack? Mother or father used to be here?" He didn't sound very interested at all, but it was something to kill the suspense as his eyes glinted with an anger that had bore itself deep into him as a youth.

If Zoma had caught that look of lacking trust in his expression and eyes, she probably wouldn't put much into it. She was used to it, now not expecting any of it but would still continue all the same in her chipper manner ... that was until he tried something on her, perhaps. For now, he seemed more bored with her, that was what she felt from him since he was licking his paw and paying no attention. Or well, not as much attention since he did add to what she had been chattering on about.
"Yeah, it gets so thick sometimes, its hard to distinguish the time. Who knows, it could really be night time when its day," She giggled once more. "One day it would be nice to go outside to see the sun rise or fall, I've seen it a few times. It really is pretty..." Zoma sighed in content, remembering all the colors that could be seen and how peaceful it all felt.
"Hm..." She began after a pause, taking in his next inquiry, wondering how to answer. She tilted her head slightly to the side, her white fluffy mane flopping to one side and strands covered one eye. "I was more of recruited one day really, by BossLady ~ when I stumbled upon her. My family is all dead, my mother left me in here after we both found the Graveyard... I think she did at least, I'm not sure what happened to her. She was just gone one morning when I was little." Her cheerful tone never once faltered as she gave the short summary of the loss of her family.

At the mentioning of her mother he let out a small growl, muscles tensing as lurched forward slightly, the memories of his mother had been burnt into his brain like a brand and how she'd made his puphood a living hell. However he quickly recovered as he resisted the urge to go berserk and looked at the female with mock sympathy.
"Yes, well sometimes parents can be quite cruel." He said, an extremely sour tone to his voice as his claws scratched at the filthy ground, he looked like he was about the burst an artery the way he hissed out every word.

Zoma's eyes widened a little at his growl, her upper body tilting backwards and uncomfortably in a sort of recoil. She was trying not to be rude and show he had startled her with the way he had responded, which was why she had at least had the thought to stop herself from picking her form up and back up.
"Can they? I've never thought much of the intentions of my mother ... or really any of all that since I didn't get to know mine long enough." Zoma chuckled nervously with that, trying to keep her tone all light and positive through his not so happy-camper one. She shifted her forearms a little, trying to ease up on her awkward position as it was beginning to hurt her back.
"Um ....... I'm sorry if I said something wrong." Came a fumbled apology, wondering what had struck a nerve with him and caused him to react, growl and such as he did.

Kimwondo smirked as he got a good reaction out of the female, showing his yellowed fangs in a smug grin before it vanished and he lay there just watching her closely. He had the look of a true predator, a creature that desired nothing more than to rip things to shreds and at the moment was thankfully subdued. His whole aura and body language screamed it.
As she apologised he scoffed quite cruely at her words, before lowering his head to lick at his paws.
"Don't apologise for doing nothing, girl." He said blunty between the movements of his tongue before he stopped his cleaning and looked back up at her. "Words don't hurt, they simply bring up bad memories like claws through the muck." His words, as always were cruel and soured, he hadn't said one nice thing since meeting her and it was obvious by his demeanor that wouldn't change.

Again she shifted, trying to feel out a more comfortable position. Her front paws moving about her until she just gave in a moved her whole body the way it was before she reacted. The female still remained upright, now looking down upon the male who continued to wash himself, though she didn't really look at him but knew of his actions. Her gaze fell elsewhere and part of her fluffy white remained covering an eye.
"but I still feel like I should apologize. They sparked some sort of bad memory, and like you said.. they hurt and that's never ever good...." Her voices trailed off near the end and she let out a low sigh. Her cobalt eyes picked up to look at him, and a small smile crept back upon her maw, "but there are words at least to being up happy memories too right? Or are you going to be grumpy all the time and live off the bad ones?" Her smile turned into a grin, teasing him lightly to get him to maybe stop looking so scary.
