Was I the only let down by the episode? I mean it was pretty good, but it wasn't long enough. We've waited a year for it to come back on again, at least give us an hour long special. And the little avatar short at the end was cute but couldn't make up for the year long wait. And I didn't even get to see all of it.

This episode was a tiny bit of a disappointment. I kept trying to tell myself, "They've gotta set up a TON of things, it's not gonna be that great of an episode." But, I guess it didn't sink in. xD;
I still liked this episode. It had good plot and character development, there were a handful of jokes, and of course the fight was stellar... I dunno, I'm in the thinking that new episodes are better than old ones. It's just so nice to see new dialogue and plot, y'know? I could probably recite the better part of Season 2.

It was a good episode but i felt like they didnt show toph at ALL, and shes my fav character. Well i guess i understand becuase the focus had to be on Aang and katara and her father...but i really hope they dont put toph in the backround too much this season

 I was very much disappointed. I liked the new character designs, but the dialogue I though was pretty bad. A lot of emotion/dialogue redundancy and overly-emo katara. I don't know, their emotions just weren't well spoken-about.

not enough comedy. i think the only funny part was aang's hair. and there was only one classic sokka moment - with the serpent. Most of it was summerizing the past couple of weeks when aang was passed out, and the time on the ship.

Most of it was summerizing the past couple of weeks when aang was passed out, and the time on the ship. Mm, yeah, I was disappointed with the lack of laughs. There were a few little chuckles and, like you said, the classic Sokka moment. Well, it looks like next week will be funnier. This one, like you said, is mainly reintroducing us to the story, and there's few things you can do to make the fall of Ba Sing Se humourous. (Y'know, except for the fact that Joo Dee is now ruling it.)

I know! It was so short... They should have made it an hour long event like they have in the past.

I wasn't. I mean, yes, it was short, and we all probably wanted more, but it is an intro. Intros are the hardest to do, because you have to explain junk, while making it interesting. I think they did pretty good. I enjoyed it.

I was kinda disappointed too. Reminds me of how excited I was for the season 4 of X-men Evolution, especially this one episode called "Cajun Charm". It kinda sucked because it went to fast. I think the same thing happened for Avatar season 3. The creators were way too excited in putting the first episode that they didn't expect something bad happening, or think that they were cramming too many things into one episode. I ain't saying it was really bad, but it just felt way to rushed, I suppose.
Especially Aang's hair magically growing in only a matter of weeks sweatdrop

I agree. It felt like nothing happened in the first episode. Things will probably pick up in later episodes or at least I hope.

Model Rocketry I agree. It felt like nothing happened in the first episode. Things will probably pick up in later episodes or at least I hope. Yeah. I'm glad it filled in some questions, but it didn't have the "The Third Season Is Here!!!" feel to it.

Patience. You know what they've probably been doing this whole year? Animation sequences. You saw how clean and nice the few bending moves looked in this ep, imagine how amazing they will be as the book progresses.
I felt the ep was non-stop. Good action, great plot. I'm not in it for the comedy. The story is more important.

I love the Avatar but I really wish that there was more going on in the episode. It just felt like there should be so much more. The first season began as a two-part special, and ended the same way. The second season ended in two parts as well, though I don't remember if it began that way. I think it would have been better if they did the same thing again.

It was just a huge filler to me. They tried to make things funny but failed. I think it was just because the episode was so grim. Aang almost dying and all. But it was suitable.. It would be a let down if it was all happy and joyful to start the season also.. That's what I think atleast.
