Once again, the great God of Fish Bahari'nswi, found himself lay on a random beach blowing bubbles. He was lay on his back, with his wings spread out across the sand, like a rather fat and furry angel. His front legs rested on his beard, and his back legs were tucked in towards his stomach. He looked very content, with his thick mane providing an adequate cushion to rest his head on. "We love bubbles." He mused to himself, in between blowing bubbles of various shapes and sizes.

From the distance, all Isilahi could see was a great big mass on the beach. She'd gone in-land that morning to warm herself on dry earth and rocks, and go a-hunting for something redder and bloodier than fish. It wasn't her place to comment on Mzimu's choice of diet...but it certainly wasn't for her.

Wondering if maybe it was a creature of the Big Water that had washed up on land for some bizarre reason (they were called creatures of the Big Water for a reason), she hopped down her usual path onto the slippy sands, padding over quietly.

It was...making noises...and bubbles? Was it dead or dying...? And puffing out its last breath? From what she'd seen of the fish that Mzimu or Zizima could catch...this looked like a relative.

Bahari'nswi continued to blow bubbles until he noticed the movements of someone approaching through the corner of his eye. Usually he wasn't particularly bothered by the presence of mortals, but ever since meeting that vile leopard, he was wary of mortals that could possibly turn out to be insane.

Lazily, he lifted his head to get a better look of whoever was walking his way. Although her colours would've seemed very unusual to most, they looked quite familiar to the God of Fish. He wasn't about to go up to the mortal and announce this though, so he simply rolled left and right until he had enough momentum to roll on to his stomach, much like a turtle would do if it found itself stuck on its back.

What, at first, was total bemusement at this being's odd movements, quickly turned into hysterical laughter as Bahari rolled this way and that, like he was too pudgy to get up onto his feet normally.

Once he was comfortably lay on his stomach, the God stretched out his wing spines before allowing them to relax and rest by his sides. He then shook out his mane in an effort to get rid of any sand that had most likely stuck to it. When he was finally ready to address the lioness, he eyed her carefully. It was only then that he realised that she was laughing. "What is so funny mortal?" His tone of voice remained neutral, but the expression on his face showed that he didn't really appreciate the laughter.

It took a while for Isilahi to regain her breath and the ability to breathe again, but then she resembled a giggly little schoolgirl trying to explain a joke that was so funny she kept making herself laugh.

"I'm sorry...you had to roll a lot...I just thought it was quite humorous..."

Bahari'nswi raised a brow, still failing to see what was so funny. "We like to roll. Rolling is fun, but we fail to see what is funny about it." Deciding to just let it go, his coral-pink eyes looked over the lioness, curious as to how she could've ended up with a coat like that. As far as he knew, blessing others with the colours of his creations was not one of his powers.

"What do your parents look like?" He asked in the same neutral tone as his previous statement. Where he was concerned, asking such a question wasn't invasive at all, he was simply curious as to what her parents looked like. If one was teal green and the other had striped and spotted markings, combined they would make this superb coat. If that wasn't the case though, how had she been born with it? "Those markings you have are real aren't they? They're not just painted on?"

We. Isilahi blinked at him for a few moments, here eyes then sweeped to his left and then to his right. Who else was here? Was there someone hiding under those fin-things?

And then his next questions caught her even more off guard.

"My...markings...? Of course they're real!" she scoffed and then proceeded to groom her fur to prove it. If they were painted on, then they would smudge. And they didn't smudge.

"And my parents...I...well...I...they were...I don't remember..."

"How fabulous." He mused as he continued to look over the lioness as she demonstrated that her markings were indeed real. The God quickly disregarded the fact that she couldn't remember her parents, as it wasn't all that important anyway. The fact was that she resembled one of his favourite creations, and it didn't really matter how it had happened.

Deciding he wanted to get an even closer look, the rather heavy-looking God got to his feet and walked over to her. He was careful to arch his wing spines so that they were pointing upwards, so that he didn't accidently thwap the poor lioness. Bahari'nswi towered over the lioness, so he was also careful not to come too close. Although most females appreciated his great size, some found it intimidating.

After circling the lioness, he smiled. "You resemble one of our most magnificent creations."

Isilahi's initial amusement with this gargantuan creature gave way to total confusion and bemusement as he, apparently, very much admired her fur. Things got even WORSE as he got up from his sprawled position on the sand and revealed his true size. She paled and took a few tentative steps back.

She subconsciously found herslef trying to squish herself into a small ball as he circled her, as if he might suddenly strike or accidentally clip her with those great big fin-wings. But he was smiling...he didn't appear to be malicious, and didn't sound it...but then look at Zizima. He was the opposite. He looked terrifying at times but wasn't evil.

"Urrmm...thank you very much?" she answered.

Noticing that the female was cowering as he circled her, he took a few steps back when he had finished. He didn't really like the idea of others being scared of him. Inspite of the great love he had for himself, he wasn't arrogant to a point where he felt like he needed to intimidate or bully others. "We won't harm you, we simply wanted to get a better look at your brilliant coat."

Having taken a few steps back, the God flexed his wings and raised the spines once more, so that the sun passed through the skin between the spines and bathed him in a rather pretty pink glow. Yes, he loved to impress others. "We are Bahari'nswi, the fabulous God of Fish." Saying that, he motioned towards the sea. "We enjoy variety, and so our creations come in many different shapes and sizes." Smiling fondly, the God turned back to the lioness. "We don't suppose you know what a shark is, do you?" He was almost completely sure that the lioness would have no idea what a shark was, as he had instructed all of his best creations (this included all sharks) to avoid coming too close to the coast. As a result, most land-dwellers will never have encountered them.

Isilahi was becoming more and more confounded by this creature, who seemed to refer to himself as two lions. He was certainly the strangest thing she would see in her lifetime, barring another God. And maybe even then, they might not look so colourful or 'frilly.'

But then it all began to sink in. This was a GOD. Had she been chosen for something? Some kind of purpose? A calling? It was hard to resist that feeling of importance that washed over her at meeting a God. Inside, she was secretly gleeful and wondering if Bahari'nswi had a greater purpse for her.

Besides her coat anyways.

"A... sha-ark? Can't say that I've ever met one."

Since he had been sure that the female would have no idea what a shark was, he already had a description set out in his mind. "Sharks are our most magnificent creation. They are the lions of the ocean; swift, deadly and oh so fabulous. Like us. Currently, the largest of all our creations is the whale shark. Because we like wonderous variety, we did not create this shark to be a predator. We simply wanted something nifty to brag about." Bahari'nswi couldn't help but smile as he went on and on about the whale shark, as it really was one of the best fish he had ever made.

"That is where you come in." He beamed. "Your resemblence to our whale sharks is so close, it's creepy. Creepy in a good way, a lovely way." The God seemed to be rambling, although he would never admit to such a thing. "We would have you meet one, but we doubt that our powers would allow you to stay underwater long enough for us to actually find one. Although whale sharks are large and in charge, they are not easy to find."

If his apperance weren't amusing enough, the way he spoke was icing on the cake. She got the feeling he was very bonnie, very lively...if a little 'proud' of his creations. Although she imagine dif she were in his position, and had created beautiful things, she'd have a reason to feel proud too.

Her musings were almost visible on her soft face as she tried to chew over what he'd said, and how best to answer him.

"Lions of the ocean? How do they stay there then?" she asked, not immediately realising the pertenance of the question. She knew lions couldn't breathe underwater.

"And this...wh-ale shark sounds quite magnificent...makes me feel sort of proud to be like one."

Bahari'nswi took the lioness' question quite literally, and raised a paw to start feeling around underneath his mane. Finally, he parted his mane in the neck area to reveal what looked liked several slits in his skin. "These are called gills. They allow us to breathe underwater. That is how our creations are able to live underwater and never have to come up for air." He grinned. "Our gills are special because they allow us to breathe on land as well as underwater. We saw no point in doing this for our creations though, as we doubt that they would like land very much anyway."

At Isilahi's next comment, he nodded, his pride continuing to swell. "They are very special indeed. We are quite proud of them, as there are few creatures in the sea that are as beautiful as our whale sharks. In fact, the only creatures that would even come close are other sharks, and maybe some of our more exotic creations." Saying that, he flexed his wings. "We created the lion fish in our own image." He chuckled. "Had our sharks not been around for millions of years, you could claim that whale sharks were created in your image."
