She wasn't entirely sure how it had led to this, but, in any case, Xianthe was now about to explain to a kit, the child of another Nobody, even, as to what Nobodies were. Really, the girl hadn't an entire idea, herself, given that her stories always changed, and were never consistent, but, as this was vaguely related to herself, and gave her a chance to talk about the Kanu and Ianthe, the female jumped at the chance, offering to explain to Xanul just what a Nobody was.

And, so, with her back turned to the kit for the meantime, the illusionist scribbled away on a piece of paper she had brought with her, drawing something that looked vaguely like Halloween Town. "Just a minute," Xianthe told him, before finally setting down her crayons.

"Okay," she began, "So, once upon a time, there was the Makanuvuli Clan. In Halloween Town."

Wait, wasn't she going to explain what Nobodies were? Then again, leave it to Xianthe to start much further than the true beginning of the story.

Xanul was pretty curious about his dad. After all, Saix hadn't bothered much to explain about the Organisation, merely commenting that it was made up of thirteen people and stating his number. Xanul wanted to know more. After all, Saix was his dad. He wanted to know as much as he could. Especially about this Nobodies.

Ever since Ayako had briefly mentioned that Saix was one, and therefore the kits were half-Nobodies, Xanul had been confused. How could they be Nobody? They were somebody! He had pestered his mother, but she didn't know much. So, Xanul had badgered Xianthe to tell him, as she seemed to be one too, and professed herself as part of the Organisation.

"Maka...what?" He wrinkled his nose slightly. This had to do with his daddy? And Halloween Town? Was that another world? Ayako had told them about past lives, seeing that Saix, and their grandfather had, but he didn't quite grasp the concept.

"MA-KA-NU-VU...Makanuvuli," Xianthe repeated, not entirely capable of pronouncing the name herself; then again, given as she always mispronounced her own name, this was no surprise, "It means, um...well, it has to do something with wild cats and shadows."

She shrugged. "It's where the old old me lived," came the simple explanation, "It's a clan of what stupid humans call 'cat people', not that those stupid humans would ever be allowed to set foot on Kanu territory."

Another few moments of scribbling, and a new picture was made, one that had, er...

Well, evidently, in Xianthe's mind, these black cat-eared blobs there were the Kanu, right? Or at least their feral cat forms. Something, anyways, that had to do with her clan.

"Anyways," the Nobody continued, "the Kanu were living in peace for a long time, but then one day, the Heartless showed up."

More scribbling, this time of the Shadow Heartless, "This is what they look like, just so you know," Xianthe informed him, "Study this, so you know later on. Maybe there'll be a test or something, I dunno."

Okay, so she was getting somewhere, albeit slowly. Still, at this rate, Xanul was more likely to hear a horridly biased story as to what had happened to herself and other clan members, as well as her personal opinions on the Organization of her world.

...It was a start, anyways, and any information was better than no information, right? Even if it was coming from a horridly temperamental Kitsu such as Xianthe.

Makanuvuli. Xanul repeated this in his head silently. "What does it have to do with daddy?" The purpose of this, after all, was to learn more about Saix and Nobodies. But then again, if Xianthe wanted to tell her own story, he didn't really mind. He liked stories. And this sounded interesting.

"What do you mean by old, old you?" He frowned. Sure, he had heard of past lives; but past past lives? It was beyond him how that could happen. Cat people. Xianthe did look a bit...cat-like. In a way. Or maybe it was all those cat accessories.

"Heartless? What are those?" He peered at the scribbling. Those black blobs were Heartless? How could one be heartless? You needed a heart to live, right? It didn't make sense, well...being a Nobody made no sense either.

Xianthe waved a hand dismissively at Xanul's question, frowning. "I'll get to that later," she said, displeased at the thought of rushing through her story, "It's important to start from the very beginning, anyways, for the teller of the story."

Did that make any sense? It wouldn't be all too surprising if this was Xianthe's fancy way of saying that her story came first, given that she knew nothing about the lives of the other Org. members before they all hopped aboard the failboat bandwagon and became Nobodies. Besides, for her, it helped to get things out, and to shed a tiny bit of light onto what happened for her.

A tiny bit, anyways; Xianthe would eternally withhold information as to how she really had lost her heart, provided she remembered it in the first place. Or, uh, well, she'd just stubbornly refuse to divulge into detail unless she was in one of her 'dere dere' modes, or bribed.

"The old, old me. Before I became Xianthe, and before I became...this...furry thing that isn't anywhere close to being correct," the Nobody told him, sighing, "Ianthe."

"And Heartless are what most people become after losing their hearts. Or, uh, if they let the darkness empower them or something something something. Only those with a strong enough will and...whatever it was they told me, become Nobodies, and even then..."

She removed her hat, giving a little toss of her hair (which was longer than she remembered it supposedly being).

"Only those who realllly hold onto their memories and all that fluff become people like me and your dad. I think. I can't remember. Roxas didn't remember anything about his past, I think. Not that anyone was interested in telling me anything anyways."

"I hope you're paying attention," Xianthe warned, staring at Xanul, "This'll be on the test later."

Xanul nodded solemnly. It seemed like the important thing to do now was to listen, not to chatter and prattle on like he usually did. Besides, he wasn't only a good talker, he was a good listener as well. Especially when listening to Ayako.

But this suspense was just too much to bear. "Ianthe?" The kit burst out and questioned. "What do you mean you became Xianthe?" Xanul was starting to suspect something was up with the letter 'X' in their names the Nobodies shared. His dad, his siblings, Great Uncle Xigbar... and now, Xianthe? But what could it mean?

"But how can you lose your heart?" Xanul fiddled with the silver chain around his neck nervously. The heart was a vital organ in the body right? If you lost it, you were dead. But then again, with magic and all, the unexpected was often true.

Hold on to their memories. He frowned. "Does that mean that includes Great Uncle Xigbar too?" From what he knew, Xigbar knew his dad. And was something like Saix, as so he had heard from his mother. Roxas? Another name with an X? He filed it away in his memory to question his father, for Xianthe seemed not to want to talk about it, for she had mumbled.

Ooh, a test? Well, this was getting interesting.

"What I mean," Xianthe began, glaring at the kit, "is that I used to be Ianthe, but now I'm not, cause I lost my heart, and stuff, and other stuff."

"You, like, lose your heart, and, um...if you become a Nobody and join the Organization, the Superior gives you a new name, or something," she said, waving a paw dismissively, "I had a different name, but I don't remember it; Anixthe or somethin'...? Xianthe's a better name, anyways."

As to how one could lose their heart? She had never been too sure about the logic behind that, really. "I dunno," the Nobody admitted, "It's, like, they steal your heart, and then you go 'poof', and if you're lucky, you become a Nobody. But you can't feel emotions or that stuff, or um...that's what they told me, anyways~♫"

Or maybe not that lucky, given the drastic changes that occurred when Ianthe had become Anixthe or Xianthe or whoever she was supposed to be. Leave it to her to come up with completely irrelevant details in the middle of a conversation.

"Xigbar?" Xianthe paused, trying to remember which one that was- oh, wait, she knew now; the Freeshooter, right? "Should be. Unless, uh...some freaky stuff happened or whatnot."

She paused, and shrugged. "Well, there was a Xigbar in the Organization I was in, anyways."

Xanul was silent for a while, digesting all these information. As Xianthe shot him a glare, he pulled his ears back, looking remorseful. Well, he couldn't help it, could he? He liked to ask questions, to clarify his doubts. As a little kit, there was still much he didn't know about the world.

"Why do they give you a new name?" He blurted out. "With the letters of your original name and an X?" He simply couldn't stand it; the suspense was burning. Did it mean that daddy had another name too? And did their names; by 'their' he meant himself and his siblings, have the same meaning too? Anul. He mused over this with a small frown on his face. "And who's the Superior?" Was it his father? But his daddy was number 7, right? Xanul supposed the number had something to do with their position, or their age.

Steal a heart? And who, or what could steal hearts? This Heartless, probably? "He is here." The kit ventured softly, his dark tails swishing about lazily. And he would most probably ask Xigbar all about the Organisation when, or if he met him. It was better to know things from different points of view.

"Because it's the 'new you', or something~♫," the Nobody replied, shrugging, "It's an anagram of your old name with an 'x' added to it. Somethin' bout, um...I forget. Maybe it's to represent you're not who you used to be?"

She shifted her weight from foot to foot, wishing she had the foresight to bring a chair; sitting on something other than her own legs was always a good thing. "The Superior is Xenmas," Xianthe informed Xanul, scribbling down a list of names on a blank piece of paper, "He's the one who started the Organization."

As for numbers? Well, while the question hadn't been brought up aloud, the girl still felt the need to explain the best she could. "The numbers are, like, in order of when you joined, I think. Um...I think; I dunno- the first six seem to know each other pretty well, so maybe that came into effect after them? It's kinda how you're ranked, too- I'd be at the very bottom, and even then, I'm not really number XIII. I wasn't given a number," she explained, lowering her voice to a whisper near the end of her statement, just in case anyone was listening in.

"So Xigbar's here, then? Huh. Dunno if I wanna meet anyone from the Organization, though," she commented, though, with Tuuli living with her, it was only a matter of time before the perma-kit decided to try hosting a reunion of sorts.

Xanul frowned. A new person. When your heart got stolen, you became a new person, a Nobody and had a new name. Which consisted of an anagram of the old name with an X. He shifted uncomfortably, thinking about his sibling's names. And his. Anul. Nula. Lanu. It made no sense. Well...yet.

So, this leader was Xemnas. "Does my Daddy have a title too?" He asked curiously. To the kit, his father was cool enough to be the leader, but well. He'd settle for anything his daddy was. Xanul loved Saix as he was; not that the kitsu found it heartening.

The kit frowned. "Daddy is number Seven." He had learnt that from what Saix had bothered to tell him, after loads of pestering. "Why weren't you given a number?" His head tilted slightly. Wasn't Xianthe part of the Organization? "Besides, why wouldn't you want to meet the others?"

Well, he was doing it wrong, to start with; there were other ways to rearrange the letters, one of which was correct, and, well...

Oh, fine, it was something for Xanul to figure out on his own, unless he cared to ask Xianthe to help him out. In any case, the Nobody handed him her list, names, numbers, and titles filled out to the best of her ability in her scrawled handwriting, as holding a pencil in one's paw rather than a hand took some getting used to. "The Luna Diviner, I think," she stated, only partly good at matching names with titles and the like (Xanul's mention of Saix being VII helped, to be honest.)

Glancing around, the girl wondered if it was alright to come out with the truth, given that she fairly much never wanted it to get out. Figuring (or hoping) that he'd forget this long before anyone asked, the illusionist decided to take a risk.

"Just between you and me~♫," Xianthe started, in a conspiratory tone of voice, "They didn't want to take me serious. Nobody ever does, when you look like a little kid. So they kinda let me in the Organization- gave me a name and title- but wouldn't give me a number. I guess in a way it was their way of saying 'we'll play along for now'."

She frowned.

"Why? Because not everyone liked me, that's why," the Nobody informed him, leaving out the fact that it was due to her destructive and spiteful behavior.

Xanul peered at Xianthe's list with a small frown, trying to make out the words from her scribbles. He knew how to read; he did live in a library with his mother after all, but it was a little hard to decipher Xianthe's handwriting. He only glanced through the list and focused on his father's. Saix, Number VII, the Luna Diviner. It sounded so cool!

Luna. The kit froze, his tails drooping. That was an anagram of his name, right? Without the X and all. "So..."He murmured, mostly to himself. "The anagram of 'Luna and an X...is Xanul." He vaguely wondered what his sibling's names meant, but he was too absorbed in this new information that he wasn't really bothered to think about it.

Then he perked up, thinking of a new question to ask Xianthe. "So Daddy's the seventh strongest in the Organization?" He pouted and pushed his hair out of his eyes with a paw. "I thought Daddy would be the leader...or at least the co-leader." What he meant was second in command of course. Which Saix really was, but he didn't want to divulge much of his past, for some reason.

"So you weren't officially in the Organization? So who is number thirteen anyway?"

Well, excuse her for not taking classes :<

"Sounds like it," Xianthe replied, carrying on with her storytime, "Just like 'Anixthe' would be Ianthe with an 'x'. Not that Xianthe isn't the same thing."

She had a point there; both names meant the same, though the latter was horridly a lazy way to go about making an Org. name. In any case, the girl fiddled with the cat clips holding the two parted sections of her hair, debating letting it loose, leaving Xanul to momentarily reflect on this newfound discovery. At the next question, the Nobody simply shrugged yet again, having no real decent explanation for it.

"He's, like, supposed to be that way, like, seventh, but, um..."

The young girl tapped her chin thoughtfully, recalling various things she never cared much for at the time they occurred. "He kinda, like, tied with Xigbar, I think, in terms of being second to the Superior. Maybe more. Maybe if the Superior's around somewhere, you can ask him yourself, or just ask Number II about it," Xianthe said, waving a paw dismissively.

At the question about her own place in the Organization, though, the Nobody froze, a dark look crossing her face; while she had been the one to inform Xanul that she never really had a place in the little Girl Scout pow-wow that was Organization XIII, it still stuck a nerve to be reminded of it, and by someone younger than her, too.

"It's...well..." the loli stammered, making vague motions with her paws, "Like I said- I got a name and title- they just didn't give me a real number. So...um...I was still, like, a honorary member, really! They just didn't teach me the secret handshake, and stuff. And I didn't want to be Number XIV, either, because XIV isn't an unlucky number where I came from."

Or in short, Xianthe, if she had been offered an actual place in the Organization, had refused it for the simple reason she couldn't have the number she wanted.

"But..." she began, taking the clips out of her hair, "Number XIII is, was, something Roxas, only he up and left one day for whatever reason. I dunno- maybe he didn't wanna sell cookies or something. Number VIII kinda later went off after him, too, I think."

"So I don't see why they couldn't have given me the number. Wasn't like he was coming back, after all."

Of course, in the end, it didn't matter, after the Org. had up and earned themselves some epic fail in the form of being defeated by a boy with a key and way too big shoes. Then again, it was the principle of the thing, one could guess; she wanted permission to keep the number for herself, as she thought it went with a theme- black cats, the number XIII, and Halloween. Even after everyone had sailed off on the failboat, it was still a sore point, as she had never gained express approval to become XIII in Roxas's place.

"So...any other questions? Can't give you much in the ways of juicy gossip, but I've got stories either way."
PostPosted: Fri Sep 28, 2007 12:07 am

Xanul tilted his head and stared up at Xianthe. "You mean he's like second in command?" The kit's eyes lit up. "COOL! I'll ask Uncle Xigbar then." He added with a smile. Still, he thought his father was way cooler. Not that he knew what Xigbar was like, but really. Xanul seemed to think Saix was a...god or something. Which Ayako found rather amusing.

"There was a secret handshake?" The kit laughed at the image of black cloaked people doing a secret handshake. It would be funny to see grumpy Saix doing that.

"They both left?" The kit peered at the list again, to make out who VIII was. Axel. Flurry of Dancing Flames.

"Does the Organization have any powers?" He frowned. He was guessing that this Axel did something with fire, but then, he had never heard of Saix having powers.

The girl nodded, content he would ask someone other than her on the matter (or the Superior, really; Xanul probably would have been in for a half-hour's worth of rambling and purple prose just for one simple question), though paused for a brief moment. "If you get to see Number II sometime, see if I can come along, maybe?" she asked the kit. True, Xianthe still wasn't sure about meeting with the others, but, eh...

Actually, she still wasn't sure. There was the off-chance that they might know her, after all, despite how smug she previously had been about her assumption that this would be different.

Well, there'd still be some that wouldn't know her, anyways. Best not to count one's chickens before they hatch, after all.

"I'm guessing there's one, anyways," Xianthe told him, "Would explain some things, I bet."

"And yeah, Axel left. I think he got sent to go fetch Roxas, anyways," she said, "Cause, like, I dunno. I think Saix and Xaldin'd know about that, since I think they were involved with something related to it at some point. Maybe Xaldin moreso than Saix, since I think..."

Xianthe trailed off at that point, deciding that she was delving into the realm of too much information, in the sense that it would soon devolve into speculation and rumors, as she herself wasn't exactly physically present at any of the events that had occured, not to mention the fact that she herself joined the Organization late in the game. For all she knew, it was all a bunch of rubbish, and Axel and Roxas had simply run off to sell their own Girl Scout cookies, or something. Or maybe they joined the Boy Scouts. Something something.

"I think they just ran off to sell their own Girl Scout cookies," she declared, nodding sagely, "Stole the recipe and ran off to start a competitive business, that's what."

"As for powers?"

She waved a hand lazily, calling on one of her shadow felines, not that it wasn't a moot point of her being an illusionist. "Um...I can make illusions, II can...hang upside down and shoot? VIII does fire stuff, IV does ice stuff ("by the way," she whispered, "never touch his lab equipment or notes- he kept trying to freeze me 'cause of that."), Demyx controlled water, Marluxia had his creepy plants and cherry blossom petals, XII, um...Larxene was mean, but she had knives. And did some electric stuff..."

"And so forth," Xianthe concluded. "May you never have to train with one of them. Unfair fights if they ever were."

"Oh," the illusionist added, as an afterthought, "your dad, uh. Is a berserker, or whatever that term is. Maybe your mom knows."
