The 2008 Viper is an evolution from the previous SRT10. It boasts 600 horsepower and 560 foot pounds of torque at the wheels. While the exterior remains virtually the same, many improvements include a VVT system (on a cam-in-block engine), a new transmission and two piece clutch, a new exhaust, sport tires specifically for the Viper, and a new hood with heat extractors. These deliver a 0-60 time in 3.6, a top speed of 200 miles per hour, and over 1g on the skidpad. All this for under $100,000, a real bargain for the performance.
All that and it still comes with the ugliest front bumper I've ever encountered. It looks like it was cobbled together from bits, that car. Not to mention how rubbish the build quality was on the ones I've seen running here in Japan. (Don't argue that it's better in other areas of the world, it doesn't matter to me.)

Dodge has announced that they are going to release an ARC (American Club Racer) version of the SRT-10 Coupe. It isn't anymore powerful, but with improved aerodynamics, stiffer suspension, and a lightened body, it is sure to be much faster on a track than the non-ACR version.
