Who: Valefor & Rune... and whomever of Trel's household enter into the scene. What: Valefor goes over to the House to see if she can find out if anyone has noticed Aear's "odd behavior" that Seer mentioned. Where: Trel's House in Bass'ken Woods When: sometime after Change is like a Subtle Breeze... or a Sledgehammer Why: 'cause. Clouds covered the sky like a gray blanket, promising the release of rain that did not seem imminent. Like the weather was waiting... waiting for something. Charged, but close to taking the needed rain to another location without giving the life-giving water that the plants hungered for. Not that the plants around the house in the clearing were drying out as others might or as perhaps they should naturally. Truthfully, there were many that should not still be growing in this season, some in this climate. All were healthy: well watered and well tended. Their little mistress was actually not to be seen among them. She, along with the other psychically Talented in the household were still not up to par from being drained when the accident involving Edward Elric's new automail occurred. They were none of them burnt out, but all were convilesing except for Theron & Nyahm who had been shielded by their mothers & had taken less active parts in the affair. The kitsus Rune & Zell spared casually in the yard, the sounds of the fistfighter echoing above the treetops while the WhiteSeeD -in her uniform- was silent. From the barn to the east of the house four pairs of eyes watched -2 equine, 1 feline, 1 avian- from the larger creatures that lived there.

Valefor flew with purpose today, as straight a line to Trelweny's household as she was able, sparing not even her Aeonic powers from her intent. It wasn't even that the matter felt as though it were direly urgent... it was Valefor and only Valefor that needed this sorted out quickly. To know the truth about Aear's feelings. No matter her own pain at the thought of seeing Aear with someone else... if he held true feelings toward Seer... Valefor could imagine no one better for either of them, honestly, and if they could be happy... Ah, no one's happiness meant more to her than those two.
The two forms sparring in the yard were familiar to her, if not from personal meeting. She had seen them before, and Zell at least she'd heard enough about to want a chance to meet him for herself. But that could wait, today.
She called a halloo to warn them of her approach as she banked and glided a few paces over the ground before flaring her wings. They whipped the air very nearly into a miniature gale as she backwinged to land, but it was brief and soon she was grounded and folding them up on her back. "Ah... Greetings. Zell and... Rune, yes? I hope you will forgive my hasty entrance..." She trailed off for a moment, fiddling with the end of her ponytail while debating what to say next. "Hmm... have either of you seen Aear recently?"

Rune held up a paw as the fistfighter nearly started to pout childishly that their sparring was interrupted. He hushed quickly, blue eyes bright as he picked up on the intensity that seemed to be around the aeon. "He's mostly at his ship..." Zell frowned. "Well he had been. For a long time there. The triplets were going nuts without him..." his voice trailed off & Zell looked a bit confused. Wait... shouldn't Valefor know? The nautical angelic always talked about her & Seer.
"Recently, yes. He's not here right now though. He returned to the Hiril Anorfalf." The White SeeD studied Valefor carefully. She knew of the kitsu's past life, but other than in the hunt for Miaka's egg had not seen the aeon. This did not seem to be a house call. Something else was bothering her. But... "Perhaps you should try there to find him."

Valefor listened quietly, noting well Rune's scrutiny. She had once upon a time prided herself on her observational skills... recently they had proved lacking. She was trying to rectify that. "Actually... I'm glad he's not here." She was quiet for a moment. "Has anyone here noticed how... oddly he's been acting of late?"

"That he's back is almost odd, truthfully, after so long clearly avoiding all of us." Rune wondered if Seer had been able to find him, if the sweet angelic was feeling better. "He's been happy lately. which the girls and Himbeere are all over. Well, all over him usually. Which is totally awesome 'cause it gives me a break. Pretty much just sticks to the kits. And that egg that's a grandkit of the Severus that teaches Lily her potions." Zell frowned lightly, thinking. "Doesn't really talk to anyone else though."
Rune waited until her fellow SeeD lapsed into thought once more. "He's been happier, yes. But I can tell something is troubling him. He's happy, but on edge. And distant. We've always been able to talk casually, since he was the one who found me on the beach and I have a good working knowledge of ships and the sea. But since he came back though he's civil... he's very distant." She searched the aeon's eyes, trying to see them in the holes of the mask. "Is that what you mean?"

He was out on the Hiril... all the time. Back recently, but distant, and only feeling safe in interactions with the kits and little ones. Yes. What Seer had spoken... seemed to be the Truth she'd claimed. "That's part of it, yes. Not all..."
She was silent for a long moment, fiddlingly with visible nerves at her long, feathery ponytail. "Seer said... she found him the other day. She's been going to visit him just about every day since for at least a little while. She said he seems... uninterested in the ladies anymore. And that he's showing every sign of having very real, very serious feelings for just one girl." She gave Rune a long look. Seer had told her after their talk about when she'd gone to see the SeeD. Rune was perceptive; Valefor had a feeling that the SeeD would know who the girl was. She wasn't going to tell them about Seer's feelings just yet; somehow it seemed like something else needed to be said, or confirmed, first.

Zell fell to a sitting position, stunned. "He do wha'?!?" Likewise Rune sat. Intentionally however. Soft green eyes remained on Valefor but grew more thoughtful. She fluffed out her green wings then pulled them like a cloak around her back. Rune remembered quite vividly the visit from the lovely Seer. So the worried angelic had found the sailor afterward, and ...
Her eyes widened slowly, brow-ridge arching questioningly at the aeon. The possible timeline held too much coincidence. But she did not want to bring it up to Valefor just yet. Not until she had at least a few more minutes to mull it over in her head. "That would explain a lot. Especially if he is seeing this girl frequently and getting to spend time with her." Valefor was speaking as if she did not know the girl... Rune would follow suit until she was more certain herself.
"If he was in love & seeing her... that would certainly explain his happiness, I think. But if he is... " Rune pondered. "He doesn't want any of us to know. So he's avoiding us." She needed to think...

Valefor nodded thoughtfully. "It does make sense... it makes me wonder if he won't tell her how he feels because of his past behavior..." But Seer had indicated that Aear had told her about his past and that ultimately it had no effect on her opinion or feelings about him. Other than perhaps to fuel her imagination on certain subjects...
Valefor shook her head at that. This wasn't the time for her to be thinking about that either. "Either that or he's worried about telling her because of who she is. I can see where she would bring up that particular issue..." She sighed. Zell obviously was suprised about this, but Rune seemed to at least suspect... and there was no real point in skirting the issue much longer.

"hmm... something like that. I would suspect... that's a facet of his concern. Likely he also does not want to frighten her away. Perhaps the ladies' kitsu has learned one in the hand is better than two in the bush."
Rune paused, glancing at Zell then. Hyne... he would blab this to everyone once he was out of shock. "Zell... why don't you see about some hot dogs?"
It was like cold water hit the male's face. "Hotdogs? Booya!" With a leap Zell was up and bounding into the house.
Alone Rune sighed. "Seer, isn't it?"

Valefor nodded to Rune's first assumption and watched as Zell ran off, deciding after he was gone to follow Seer's advice and removing her mask. She shook her head a bit after to fluff up the fur on her fine-boned, slightly avian face. The mask tended to give her "hat-hair".
"Yes... It's Seer. And... what's more, Rune... she feels the same way about him, but she's afraid to tell him because of the position that would put him in." She shook her head in a more normal, and more negative, way this time. "Even if I were sure if I should get in the middle of it to clear the air... let them sort things out after they're not hiding from one another anymore... I wouldn't know what to do."
She sighed softly. "Honestly I'm happy for them... or would be... though I guess I'm a tad... jealous? And really the whole situation just feels a bit surreal."

Rune blinked as the aeon removed her mask. That's right, Aear had said something about it being a mask once. This was a very beautiful exotic kitsu. No wonder she had caught the sailor's eye and kept it. She could put things together to how close they had become. For one thing... Valefor often went to Aear's ship. Rune alone of the family tended to visit him out there fairly regularly. Still it was nothing in comparison she was sure.
Wait... "She does?" Her soft green eyes were big. Now that indeed was news! How would the smitten sailor take such news?
"I... suppose that's only natural, with as close as you are to both of them & what you have shared with AearHwesta." She did not mean the adult pleasures, but rather the relationship itself -something that if not clear was there in her voice. Strawberry tipped tails flicked then wrapped around her feet. "so are you asking for my advice on this? To speak to AearHwesta? Or something else?"

Valefor tilted her head to the cloudy sky. "I'm not entirely sure. I wanted partly to be more certain about what had been going on. Another... perhaps I do need advice. What do you think about all this?"

Except for the pursed, contemplative set to her jaw Rune looked at ease. Though she had her own problems with romance, this was not that. "Here. Let me start off with a timeline I've been playing with since the matter was broached: while the two of you were raising Seer you saw each other fairly frequently, She grew, and he saw more of you, but less of her perhaps already attracted yet not wanting to give in shall we say to his nature. But still Aear was much himself, though I noticed him more thoughtful. then there was this meeting with Igni that Seer told me of. He spoke of her 'not being for the likes of them' and was quite passioned in protecting her from what could have been a friend's advances. Aear disappears on the Hiril, Barely making port. I think that might be when he started reaslising the strength of his affection for her, if not realizing how he loves her already. Seer comes here for advice, which I happen to be the one to meet her. Sometime therein she must have found Aear... learned of his nature & past. He must now realize he fully loves her, for his happiness is nothing short of someone in love... but how we get to now..."
That was a lot for Rune to speak at once, but she said it in a slightly detached instructor type mode which likely made it easier for the often shy female. "But what do I think about it? I think it could be a very lovely thing indeed. However it will likely be turbulent & awkward getting through the confession of feelings." She sighed. "AearHwesta will not tell Seer of his feelings unless pressed, I wager. but then I already said that, didn't I?"

"That sounds right... I know that for the last while she's been going to see him for at least a couple of hours every day. Seer tends to chew on things for a while to try and figure them out... I suspect she's been examining her feelings rather carefully in that time. It was yesterday she... told me about all this."
Rune's thoughts appeared to echo her own and Valefor couldn't help a chuckle. "Ah... yes, I suspected that of him myself. The question is, I suppose, if there's anything we can do to coax them into it. Short of physically dragging them together and telling them to spit it out I haven't come up with anything yet. Though Seer's going to be a lot more open to suggestions to tell him how she feels than Aear will be. I don't know if her confession would be enough to spark his own, though."

A nod as she mentally inserted when Seer spoke to Valefor into her timeline. The rest... she gave a soft smile when the aeon chuckled then slipped into thought. After a while Rune spoke again. "Physically dragging them poses some problems. First catching AearHwesta. Second, if they are already sharing time happily that may put a sour taste on things. However, if Seer should tell him..." Rune paused regathering her conclusion. "I think it is highly likely Aear would feel liberated enough to speak his heart as well. The downside... I don't know if that will place them 'together' so to speak. I've not read his thoughts on this. Those are what might cause him to try and refrain despite love from being with Seer. That he's so much older, that she's innocent, that he raised her as his daughter, that he's done what he has. Seer may be mentally more accepting of Aear than he is of himself at this point. And if that's the case, he won't see himself as worthy of her."
