Not drawn to scale lol You've recently heard about a new place opening up in downtown Durem. Some kind of tavern or pub called the
Soulstice Saloon. Standing at the top of the stairs leading down into the sub-basement establishment, you think
It doesn't look like much .... Which is true considering the sign hanging above the stairs in rather simple in design: a plain wooden sign with equally plain and simple blue script letters stating that the place was the
Soulstice Saloon.
The exterior is about as non-descript as you can get and looks like half the other buildings in Durem. Taking the stone steps downward to the plain wooden portal, you can push it inward to be greeted by a short flight of wooden steps and a dim interior. From your vantage point on the steps you can see the bar on your right, extending along the mirrored wall. All sorts of bottles of every shape, size and color can be seen, suiting to the tastes of any patron within.
For the moment, the bar seems empty and as you take the few stairs further down and into the saloon itself you can see one long booth running along the left wall with small tables lining next it and the middle of the establishment boasts many large round tables for those large parties and gatherings. In the back a cozy setting meets your gaze with a fireplace and several comfortable and plush chairs scattered before the hearth. A nice setting for those who wish for a quiet atmosphere to read or enjoy a nice mug or cup of tea. To the right of the fireplace and near the corner is a jukebox with music to suit everyone's musical tastes.
A sound from over by the bar catches your attention and you turn to see a young woman who seemed to appear in front of the door marked "Office," in a cloud of smoke. Stepping away from the door with a cough and a wave of her hand, clearing the smoke away, you see the young woman dressed in way that can only be described as "mythical." With skin that looks metallic and sporting attire that could be attributed to the infamous Norse God Thor himself, yellow eyes hidden behind the blue visor of her helmet spot you. A smile curved her lips and she helps the small owl sitting on her forearm onto it's perch behind the bar. Giving you her full attention and that bright smile still in place, she gestures to the bar and cheerfully greets you, "Welcome to the Soulstice Saloon! What can I get you?"
[+] The Staff of Soulstice Saloon
Jubilation. Former Saloon owner & bartender. Now she just tends bar ... occasionally.
Spike. The Saloon's official bouncer. Part of him missed the good old days. The crunch of bone, the splatter of internal organs... But his reverie was quickly broken as a new batch of semi-sober party-goers staggered up to his bar. Technically, he was only an employee, but he preferred to think of it as his bar, because he could, in theory at least, kill the owner and all the other employees, and perhaps a few patrons in the process.
But no. He was good now. It wasn't easy, he still enjoyed all the mayhem and pain, but there was something else there, too, a deeper sense of pleasure and contentment. The source was his soul, the outlet his continued good behavior. He did what was right, not because he was forced to, and not because it was what would please Buffy, but because he chose to.
The extra few quid/gold were nice, too.
Solidify. The establishment's resident Entertainer--interpret as you will. After hearing about this new place opening up through some friends, Solidify decided to apply because he really needs to stop playing World of Warcrack so much. He, quite frankly, needs to get off his lazy hippie a** and get a job. Instead of working though, he's constantly goofing off and likes to dress up in drag (as either Glory or Scarlet) He works in the bar as an entertainer of sorts. He also loves to give people psychological advice with their problems, and he's actually really helpful at times. He has two main sides of himself:
The "Willow/Arc" side: Shy, timid, and self-conscious. This is his 'I am human and need to be loved' side.
The "Glory/Scarlet" side: Proud, confident, and brass. The 'I don't care what anybody thinks I'm gonna be as bitchy and politically incorrect as possible' side.
He also fancies himself as bit of a celebrity. Tickets to see him perform are about 25gold per person, which he feels is adequate given the "homely" nature of the place, though he really does like it here, it's like his second home. He's known the owner for about what, five years now, so she wasn't gonna turn him down and he got immediately hired a couple weeks ago.
