Now, I've wanted to do this for some time, and so has a friend of mine. I propose a band roleplay.
If you want to join, then FOR GOD'S SAKE, DON'T PM ME!!!!! Do that, and I will grrrr at your unborn childrens! That being said, The conditions for joining are simple. Give a sample of your writing. We will only be accepting literate roleplayers, and god modders will be burninated.
Once we have things sufficiently underway, we can begin to add rival bands and such. But for now, we need literate roleplayers who don't godmod, and meet the basic requirements. Oh, and artwork for a description of your character is okay, as long as you show us that you can write as well.
Next post is the rules, and the consequence for breaking said rules.

Okay, I happen to be the other, slightly more to-the-point half of 'we'. And 'we' will be here to mod your bums--so our word is law.
Currently, I am at the Mutil8's house, so I'm not just another account of hers--and she's not Schizophrenic (at least, we hope not), and all this logging on and off of my account and hers is not just one desperative person wishing they had friends--as you will notice, our styles and speeds of writing are generally different, and I tend to lean more toward detail...
sometimes.
Anyway, if we don't like you, we WILL let you know--but we will likely be nice about it. So if you receive a polite request to leave, then we suggest you take it, before you have to feel our fiery wrath.
However, if you continue in dumbassery for too long, then even MY infinite patience will reach its end.
That being said, we have a few rules to lay down, so listen up:
1. No list intros, PLEASE!!! If you want to give us a picture, PROVE THAT YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO WRITE, AS WELL! I, personally, DETEST list intros, and will automatically ask you to leave.
2. No killing/moding other peoples' characters. You know it's just generally not nice, and we won't tolerate it. If you want to get into an on-stage brawl WITH YOUR CHARACTERS, then feel free--the more conflict, the more fun, usually... but don't take it to a personal level.
3. If you would, PLEASE don't use the sparkly bbc code--normal colors are perfectly fine, and if you have more than one character, then it is highly suggested that you USE colors. I, in fact, will have several.
4. This isn't a funeral--HAVE FUN! If you're not an outright jerk to everyone (you COULD have a character do that to MOST of them for fun <3), you should get along with us just fine. Remember--the purpose of roleplaying is for enjoyment--and we're not stiffs. We just don't want people to be too a**-like.

This is where the accepted and the burninated go. Burninated meaning blacklisted...
Accepted 1.Mutil8 (Hannibal) 2.Azzy the Great (Memorandom) 3.
Burninated 1. Rakashi Uchiha 2.
With any luck, there won't be many on the Burninated list. I hope.

Now, Warning: I have an entire band of my own characters, and will be playing ONE FULL BAND!
The main point of this roleplay is not really to garner together and start a band, but more like to play a show full of bands, and present the conflict and compromise that people go through.
TRUST ME, it's fun!
Okay, scratch starting--I had a HUGE post pending and Gaia gave me an error message. I'll have to ask Kitsu to start...

Imagine a setting, tucked away in what might have ben a fat man's basement, then fill it with the most talented blokes there about, and you'd have the Moon Bear Cafe. Draped in psychadelic blacklight posters, and frequented by the strangest people you'd ever like to meet, it stood for the epitome of all that was underground, and far from mainstream.
Now, enough about the goddamn Cafe, let's get down to the nitty gritty.
Figures draped in shadow lingered around, but amongst the droves, there were the bands, the likes of which were revered by those around them. Sex Gods and Goddesses, perveyors of the rockstar creed.
It is in just such a place that a young boy of about 15 sat. His dark blue hair glittered in the low light, and his bangs cast shadows over his glimmering sapphire eyes. He glanced around timidly, his usual confidence not in evidence. His band had just dropped him a week ago, and he was desperately trying to think of just why.
It couldn't be the boy's voice.. no, not that sultry melodic spectre. Was it his tendancy to paranoia? Maybe. What ever the reason, he simply sat there, humming to himself and pondering his next move.
He was brought to attention by a high pitched feedback screech, and then an announcer's voice, low pitched and beefy filled the dimly lit space.
"And now, for your listening pleasure, and nosebleed inducing joy, I present Memorandom!!!!" The voice went on to yell. The boy was taken up in the spectacle, enthralled with the beat of the music.

Atop the majestic crest of the stage and illuminated by the dancing lights, the owner of a smooth baritone voice stood near the mic, having lowered this instrument before he was able to use it.
Reaching a not-so-majestic five-foot-one, the boy was quite often mistaken for a younger man, though the short patch of hair on the end of his chin proved him to no longer be a boy. That, and the magnificent mane atop his head that caressed his chin and beauteous neck had been an unfortunate garnet red.
A man, clad always in black, he tended to come off as what one might consider 'Gothic', but the upbeat tone of his music narrated otherwise. Ska was not a depressing sort of genre--in fact, the energy in the quick-paced beats and insistent drumline often meant that it was a lifting sort.
Pale, retreating lips parted to hit every note as sturdy hands strummed at his guitar, the entirety of his body in motion at one point or another as he continued with the song. His stubborn, chin-length, shaggy bangs shifted with his movements, only to fall incorrigibly back into place. His marble skin and his catlike features had gotten him a great deal of fame--but he was not the only pretty face behind the band; in fact, each member had his own appeal.

Moving on up the hierarchal scale, there came the man seated in the shadows (as compared to the rest), banging out the demanding tatterings that a punk-rock-with-a-brass-section genre required.
Blessed with impossible lengths of watery bronze hair, the boy would've likely been lucky enough, but the appeal of his simple looks continued, even from there. Whereas their singer was more resemblant of a cat, this man was a regal tiger--even his somewhat thin frame seemed to emanate power, and his attitude was much more akin to an animal of such brilliant design.
He had disposed of his shirt for the time being (as the hard work he had to go through simply keeping up with the pace and the heat of the drumline was more than enough to warrant it), showing the fact to the world that he was a man, despite his glaring androgyny. It was clear that he had effeminate features, despite their solitaire front, but his glaring eyes were often what held his fans spellbound. He was the 'strong and silent' type, often cross-dressing primarily for the shock factor.
Nevertheless, his fan-base never really saw much of him--to them, he was the mysterious, dark, and handsome stranger; always glaring and frowning at every chance--even in group photos--despite the fact that he, covertly, enjoyed the attention.

Continuing through the ranks, we come upon the bassist... an unusually tall and lanky young male who claimed to have hailed straight from Japan--and even though his blood was mixed, making him look like a liar, a name like 'Yamaru' didn't lie about his heritage.
Short, choppy layers of dark brunette lay atop his head, a pair of thick-rimmed glasses before his eyes. He was the cute sort, with a pungeant tongue and a sharp wit that only showed through when he insulted you--but if you managed to get on his good side, the thin, delicate (and rather girlish) male could let those leering eyes wane glittery, and simply melt a stone heart with a proceeding of cute whinings and wimpers.
Clad in the general Grunge gear of the nineties, the frail figure was almost completely hidden beneath the billows of his overlarge clothing. A red flanel and pair of somewhat-ripped blue jeans donned him, though they were easily able to fit at least two of him. It was strange that the emaciated boy was able to suspend such a brutal instrument, let alone play it! No one could argue, though--those thin, spidery digits danced marvelously across the thick strings.

And on we continue down the line, to the oh-so-underappreciated brass section.
Today, the platinum-blond of the resident Trumpeter was half-dyed a wild electric blue; suitable to his whimsy at the moment. He was a long, tall, lithe, and serpentine sort of man, his eyes sharp and serious, though they smiled along with him, unlike those of the melancholic drummer. When he liked you, those eyes seemed to pervey hypnotic powers.
His own clothes often changed, according to his hairstyle, and today, he seemed to be following his tride code of blue--his clothes were little else, though they waned dark and navy.
Overall a somewhat pleasant fellow, he was usually just as quiet as the man he admired who sat only ten feet away from him while he played the sweet, metallic notes. Abstrusely, he seemed to be a lot more easy-going, despite his cool, pristine appearance.

And finally, we came down to the final member of Memorandum; a rather strange fellow who'd been no less than an enigma since the very beginning, despite his outright ways.
With one side of his head of eccentric purple hair sheared off almost to the head while the other side stood against the pull of gravity and trailed into a waist-length rat-tail, it was easy to tell that he wasn't... quite... the normal type. In fact, he seemed to find enjoyment in peoples' confusion and the general idea of mayhem, though he was always cheery; never disagreeable.
'Complex' was quite an appropriate word for description.
Nevertheless, he practiced the Saxophone in the back with the Trumpeter, playing near the same notes, despite his workload being more along the lines of bass. Of course, his instrument was nearly three-quarters his size, being only a miserable five-foot-three; just two inches above the singer, which which he and the drummer often traded spots.
Altogether, they brought the audience their show with flair and enthusiasm; bringing themselves a name as a single entity and as five, all the same. Perhaps the fact that five individuals could work so smoothly together and be so different... was why this band was interesting.
