The earth was the same as it always had been. There was peace and everyone was working together to stop global-warming. Unfortuanatly their efforts were too late. In 100 years all of the arctic ice had melted and the oceans rose and covered all of the land. 3/4 of the earth's population drowned or died by other means such as heart attacks. The only reason they survived was sitting on huge inflatable rafts and growing seaweed underwater.
Well, God had mercy on the poor people of earth and made the sun shine so bright one day that it evaporated most of the water. Now the only water left was underground so everyone got their water from wells. Everyone was out to claim the land where the oceans used to be and since everyone was seperated from their own countries the rich people claimed land for themselves and hired poor people to guard it. Well, now that there was more land, everyone got a pretty good piece of land, except poor people who had to work on the land just to stay alive.
Since there were no cities, let alone government, demons saw this as an opportunity to seize the world for themselves. So, they disquised themselves with a spell that when on earth and not fighting, they would look like humans, except for their tails, if they had one.
God saw that demons were flooding to the earth to take it over and he sent his best angels to earth to capture them. Once captured, the demons were thrown in cells in a darker part of heaven. From there, dark angels would guard the cells and torment the demons. These dark angels, you could've sworn, they were trained by Satan himself and some of them were. Of course, for more powerful demons, God sent dark angels because they knew the most about their weaknesses.
The humans you ask? What about them? They saw what was happening and set up an elite army called the Slayers who would slowly kill any demon they saw. But there were still other lone slayers who would kill demons one their own because they were skilled at assasinations.
