Lol, I found this essay when searching for Cloud and Tifa related stuff. xd It's humorous to see this person blow their stack. Reason for this thread: Neutrality.

"CLOTI vs. CLERIS = WHO ******** CARES ANYMORE?


It's been going on since '97. The infamous love triangle that turned an awesome game into a world (or Internet, to be exact) of Hell. Cloud/Tifa vs. Cloud/Aeris. Tifa fan vs. Aeris fan. Hate shrines, "debates", anti-forums, one ontop of another. Everybody has run into this at least once. Pretty much everyone has seen one of those flame wars. They take place on Final Fantasy forums, guestbooks on websites, e-mails and even on Wikipedia articles.

But why?

Honestly? What is the point anymore?

If this was any other person, this essay would more than likely turn into a big fluffy pink bundle of love talking about how Cloud/Tifa and Cloud/Aeris fans should coexist, live in harmony and have eternal friendship. However, because Rosie isn't a dellusional ********, that isn't what this essay is going to be about. Essays like that are a waste of time in my honest opinion. Do you want to know why?

Because Cloud/Tifa fans and Cloud/Aeris fans are NOT going to be able to coexist. They are not going to be able to get along. And that stupid ******** war will probably go on until the end of time.

Because the fans are RETARDED.

That's right. Both sides are ******** retarded.

These fanatics were responsible for turning a great game into a flamewar from Hell. Ask anybody. They'll tell you from the start "I used to like both Aeris and Tifa, but then I got the Internet and saw what those mean Aeris fans were saying about Tifa and it made me hate Aeris" and vice versa. What is that telling you there? Before everybody got connected through the Internet, people were okay with the games. They liked the pairing of their choice, they liked both characters, they enjoyed the game, but then they got online, met some ******** and started a big controversy over something that was meant to be ENTERTAINING.

And then these morons meet on forums and chatrooms to "debate" about this s**t. Sadly, the ones "debating" are these ******** losers with a mindset of a 12-year-old who think that arguing/flaming = peaceful debate. And to be honest? When you've finally stopped caring about this whole love triangle drama, you can take the time to sit back and realize just how ******** ridiculous these people are. They get so serious and so into the "debate" that it makes you wonder if they're EVER going to lose their virginity in this lifetime. And nobody really has anything new to offer for "proof". Cloud/Aeris fans use "Japanese culture" and "love beyond the grave" s**t. Cloud/Tifa fans use "childhood friendship" and "koibito" s**t. It gets recycled over and over to the point where it isn't even conscidered to be an arguement. It's just repetitive bullshit.

What these morons seem to be forgetting is that arguing about Cloud/Aeris and Cloud/Tifa is completely and utterly pointless because they are never going to be able to convince anyone. Both sides are too dellusional and obsessive. Even if you had solid proof, a quote from the staff, an FMV of the characters making out, or anything of the sort that proved that either couple was canon, you STILL wouldn't be able to convince these fans that Cloud/Tifa or Cloud/Aeris are the OTP. The battle would probably still carry on 'cause one group would argue about how that couple didn't make sense to them, and then the other group would barge in and talk about how wrong and stupid they are for not thinking so.

Neverending? Yes. Stupid? Absolutely.

And honestly? Both sides are equally stupid. The people at the Cloud/Aeris forums are in their 20's and 30's still arguing about a ******** game. The people at Strifeheart are hormonal teenagers who flame, b***h, spam and get all holier-than-thou on the Cloud/Aeris fans. Both take turns lurking/spamming/flaming each other's forums. Both act unnessisarily serious and fanatical when they "debate". Even the way both forums are organized are incredibly similiar. In fact, both forums and fans have so much in common that one could wonder why they aren't ******** believe me on the "similiarity" thing? Let's make a little venn diagram here:

Seems to be the "realists" out of the two groups (but still just as retarded)

Were responsible for the Anti-Tifa and Anti-Aeris shrines, hatelistings, clubs and many other things
Both sides seem to be ripping each other off in many ways (EX: Eternal Love = Cloti, Endless Love = Cleris. CxA Forums = Venting Forum, Strifeheart = Opinions and Rants [which is obviously the same thing]. The list goes on)
Seem to rely more on what the staff of Square-Enix says about their preferred couple instead of thinking for themselves
Both use the whole Kingdom Hearts bullshit to the point where it makes me gag
The adults act like children
The children try (and fail) at acting like adults




CLOUD/AERIS FANS -

Overkill the color pink
Fans range from age 12 to 30
Are responsible for the most poorly organized AMV's on Youtube
Has a tendancy to sugarcoat things
Uses the whole "I'm a victim" facade
Dellusional and Desperate
"Aeris is the better character"



My advice if you're an FF7 fan? Get off the Internet. If you can't do that, then stay off of FF forums. If you go onto FF forums, don't make an Aeris vs. Tifa topic because all that's going to do is attract the retards. Avoid Cloud/Tifa or Cloud/Aeris websites at all costs because you'll run into a flamer/spammer who will eventually start a whole bunch of s**t. Don't say "I hate Cloud/Tifa" or "I hate Cloud/Aeris" ANYWHERE because you'll more than likely start up a "debate" their too. If you have a Youtube account, dont' make a Cloud/Tifa or Cloud/Aeris AMV, because you'll get the s**t flamed out of you for not supporting some retard's favorite couple. Hell, don't even upload the Date Scenes from Final Fantasy VII because you'll be accused of being a bias ********. Play the game, avoid the drama, have an openmind, and I'm sure you'll love both Aeris and Tifa and support whatever couple of your choosing without having to worry about all the drama that goes along with it.

Trust me, when you avoid the flame wars, LTD's, and all the other bullshit, it makes the game a lot more enjoyable.

Haha, in the forum Strifeheart, they fit ALL of those things that person listed for Cloti. ESPECIALLY THAT 'holier than thou' THING.

And I overkill with Pink. Am I Cleris? Nope.

Most those things are true for crazy rabids, who won't see anything but THEIR way.

I don't support Cleris, but I can respect it, and the select fans of it that are actually nice, and can see both sides and understand that Cloud could love either girl. I think Cloud could very well love Aeris. He cared for her a lot. I just believe that Cloti has more going for it, and I will defend it as I see fit. I won't bite someone's head off if they like Cleris though, and I actually do favorite some of the cute Cleris art.

Um well I'm fourteen (turning fifteen on the 28th! <3). And I think that's wonderful that clerith fans, and clotis too have fans 20+. Isnt Ranma 20 or so? I mean to say that you CANT be a ff fan because you are 'too old' is pretty dumb because I doubt you'll just stop liking it. Plus if your in you are a teen you were probably pretty little when FFVII first came out so I think the older people know more.
