The Headmaster sat at his desk, pen swiveling deftly over necessary reports, letters and schoolwork with an air of duty. He was still cleaning up the residual bits and pieces of the events in China, trying to balance each of the student's progression and concerns at the same time; sometimes he felt like a mother hen, caring for his chosen teachers and children alike.

Norman put the pen down momentarily, steepling his fingers together, blue eyes skimming over the work he was so diligently pouring over. He was still concerned about what the whole mess had meant, even if everyone else had already moved on. Now he had a new staff member to look after, the well being of his old ones, all while maintaining a neutral standpoint of figurehead and leader. His job was truly never done.

Unknown to Norman, a blond haired young man stood silently at the doorway. The closed door blocked his view into the office and also prevented Norman from seeing him. But for the young man, he could already feel what was going to look like, talking to the leader of this school. He wasn't sure he was nervous. Instead, he felt a light excitement. If Norman could accept him, then he could start life here...all over again.

Of course, compared to other students in the school, the young man looked a little too old. If he was a student, he would be one of the higher divisions. But it was clear that he was not---or at least not making himself appear to be---a formall student. The young man wore a simple white shirt that seemed to be too small for his well built body and wide shoulder. His dark pants were ragged at the bottom, but it was at least clean. One could think of his entire outfit as an odd fasion of sort, which could be complied by his smooth short hair, not purposefully combed, but still neat in observation.

Taking a deep but unnoticable breath, he raised an arm and knocked slightly on the door, light enough to prevent echoing in the large hallway and loud enough for the person inside to hear.

Dark brows arched at the knock, the man lifting his head to observe the door. "Come in," he called in a clear but not unkind voice, wondering who came to see him today. Norman's days were often spent in solitude, and each visitor was something of an unexpected but welcome guest.

He sat up a little straighter in his chair, adjusting his monocle and clearing his throat out of habit. The man organized his papers a little - making sure that those that shouldn't be seen were innocently covered - shuffling them around his desk in manageable little piles while he waited.

The young man paused at Norman's words. He then lowered his eye-level and reached out for the door nob, turning it slightly and pushing the door open with care. He opened the door slowly without any noises, and kept his eyes straight-forward. The young man's eyes were of different color, one of them dark blue, and the other a deep red that looked rather hollow. It was as if there wasn't an eyecall in the young man's right socket at all. His other eye, however, was gentle, and had a sense of confidence in its light.

When the door was opened wide enough he could see Norman sitting behind his desk, trying to look as formal as possible. The young man smiled a little. His face seemed a tad too beautiful for his strong physical body. Staying where he was, the young man closed the door carefully behind him, and turned to Norman.

"Hello, headmaster."

It was a light greeting, and the young man bowned a little in the process to show his respect. His voice was soft and mature. One could almost see him as one of the faculties in the school instead of the student---if it were not for his clothing, which he cared not to adjust.

Keen blue eyes fell upon the youth as he entered, taking in each small detail quickly while a smile touched his face. "Ah," he remarked kindly, pushing his hands against his desk to stand, "you must be the young man Doctor Manneth told me about." Norman extended one of his hands to the chairs opposite his desk, indicating with a nod, "Please, have a seat. I'm sure you have some questions for me, and I have a few I'd like to ask myself."

He stood in full and walked around his desk, quite daper in his tuxedo. The suit fit him flatteringly, and made the man rather aware of the other's lack of definable clothing. For all Norman could tell, he could have washed up from a time lost to the history books. The boy looked older than most of the students, but the Headmaster couldn't tell if it was an age difference, or simply because the face he was looking at seemed as though it had seen much more than would be fitting of his age. The warm blue eye and the lack of the other only lended to the idea.

At the far side of the room, strong fingers curled around a cup, the man glancing over his shoulder, smiling, "Can I interest you in some green tea?"

The young man nodded. He did not say anything however, as he proceeded to do what Norman suggested, making himself comfortable in one of the assigned chair. It was only afterwards the young man looked up at Norman and, once again, gave him a small smile. "Thank you." The young man said with a controlled voice, not too loud nor too little for Norman to hear. It was almost if he had been well prepared for this meeting. His voice, his expressions, the way he walked and talked and sat...all seemed very natural, which made him more like an adult than someone with the looks of his age. In addition, the young man had an air of confidence and a suppressed pride. Even if Norman was dressed in formal suits and him in something inferior, that aura balanced the difference, making him on almost equal grounds with the headmaster. Even so, the young man was humble in his words, and the respect he had shown to Norman was sincere.

"Green Tea would be fine. Thank you." The young man said, turning his sight so it would remain gently on Norman. The young man made no other movements, and merely paid Norman yet another small yet grateful smile.

The Headmaster was used to dealing with people who showed a wide spectrum of emotions upon setting foot in his office; this boy's reaction was nothing that unsettled him, for Norman never felt himself superior than the next person. He believed everyone was at the school for a purpose - the only hierarchy he was firm about was respect to the teachers. They didn't have to like him, be grateful, or otherwise show any sign of emotion, so long as the person who sat across from him knew that they were not in the school of miniscule reasons. This school was special, and each person who took a part in it was building something great for every living creature out there.

He walked back and offered the cup with a polite, "It's a little hot, be careful," before resuming his seat at the other side of the desk. Norman leaned forward on his elbows and smiled with all the pride of a father, pleased that the boy was both quiet and patient. "Now, let's be civil rather than polite, shall we? I'm Norman Prinwaltz." He extended his hand cheerfully, a twinkle in his blue eyes.

He took the cup in his hands. The heat surged through the cup and stung at his palm. The young man frowned a little at the unpleasant feeling, but the hand that held the cup was firm and still. He wasn't sure where he'd gotten the ability to endure the heat, which made him wonder, his eyes glancing briefly at the cup, then back again when Norman made his way back to his seat.

The cheerfulness of the headmaster made the young man smile more broadly than before. He put the cup down on Norman's desk, and extended the other hand, reaching to take Norman's offer.

"I go by More, More Krovaski." There was a hint of amusement at saying his own name, as it was the only thing that he had remembered about himself. He didn't sound depressed, however. Instead, his tone was upbeat, almost as cheerful as Norman as if he was trying to match Norman's attitude.

"More Krovaski," Norman repeated, giving the boy in question a firm and friendly handshake. "Nice to meet you." He took a seat, settling in comfortably with an easy smile. "Krovaski, huh? Sounds Russian," he mused, more to himself than More. The Headmaster wasn't well versed in names and heritage, but it sounded good to him; who knows, maybe he wasn't that far off!

Watching More, he inquired kindly, "How are you feeling?" It seemed like the most logical thing to ask first, as the boy had been washed up on the rocky shores. Lorioth had done wonders to take care of the youth, as he looked quite healthy despite his missing eye. Even that didn't seem to bother More very much, which gave Norman an impression of independence and a keen mind.

First things first; the psychological evaluation would come with the boy's answers.

More smiled knowingly. It seemed common to him now that the headmaster had made his comments and asked a question. After all, that was precisely what the white haired doctor had asked (with an anxious expression so worried that More was afraid he's start crying).

"I am feeling well, thank you. And thank you for letting Dr. Manneth take care of me." The young man responded calmly in a quiet but gracious voice. He leaned forward a little, taking the green tea and took a sip, despite the fact that the liquid was still quite hot. "I am still getting used to my...lack of background and this school. But I think I will get used to them quickly."

Norman nodded once. "You're welcome, Mr. Krovaski. I think the good doctor would have taken care of you regardless, what with those girls creating such a fuss." He chuckled as though sharing a private joke, brushing his hands over his sleeves thoughtfully. "I'm simply glad to see that you didn't sustain any real damage." The Headmaster took a moment to sip some of his own tea, briefly fogging his monocle before he put it down a safe distance from his papers.

"That will take some time, so take all of it that you need," he said in a gentle voice, turning his attention onto More's good eye. The lack of an eye was a little bizarre, but it didn't bother Norman in the least. "So, More. What can I do for you today?" He smiled again, a warm and encouraging expression that he often doned for the students; regardless of how often he used it, it was an honest smile, one of hope for each youth that he shared it with.

"You have all been so kind to me." Putting down his cup, More whispered, more to himself than to Norman. He then looked up, and continued, with a rather serious expression on his face. "Thank you for your kindness. I truely appreciate them. I will remember...to pay you back, all the things that you and the others have given me."

A weak smile curved up from the corners of his mouth, and More rose from his chair. He then bowed deeply from where he was, hair almost touching Norman's desk. And, without rising, he went on.

"But even so, I am afraind that I must ask another favor of you, sir. As Dr. Manneth suggested when I came upon this idea...I was wondering if you will allow me to stay here in the school...as a student or a worker...as someone who can live on this island, with all of you...wonderful people."

The Headmaster wasn't so sure More would think everyone so wonderful if he knew abut the other silver-haired doctor, but chose not to comment on that. To each their own. It seemed Manneth had given his prescription of healing for the boy...now Norman had to choose whether or not to accept such a request.

Those kind, intelligent blue eyes rested on More and his serious face, watching his demeanor, weighing the impact the school would have on his psyche. The youth was determined, despite the uncertainty of his future; kind, not knowing the circumstances of his present; receptive, not knowing the means of his past. More was standing before him, against all odds, and rather than leave to find himself or otherwise pursue his own goals, he was asking to lend what he could to the school. There was desire in that one clear blue eye, and Norman did not miss it.

"How about this," he said slowly, rubbing his chin between his thumb and forefinger. "If you feel indebted to the people here, then I will allow you to repay their efforts by enrolling as a student. This will, hopefully, help jar your memory...or at the very least, bring you some peace and give you direction." Blue eyes never moved from More's one. "Would that be a sufficient means of payment, Mr. Krovaski?"

The young man's face snapped up as Norman was speaking. The single blue eye looked brighter than before as excitement overlfowed from his contrained expression. When Norman was finished, More didn't bother to keep his emotions intact. Instead, he supported himself by pressing his arms firmly on the dest, estatic face shooting forward, narrowing the gap between the headmaster and himself.

"Really?" More asked in an usually upbeat tone. He then leaned back, noticing that he had came in too close to Norman. His eyes closed themselves , forming a complete happy smile on his face. It was at that moment that More looked and acted more like a boy of his age than someone older. His expression was that of excitement and relief, as a few soft laughters left his mouth.

"Thank you so much!" He proceeded to look at the headmaster with a most thankful expression on his face. "Thank you so much for letting me stay here first of all...and the offer is wonderful! I don't know how to---I'm so happy..." Straightening himself a little, the young man bowned down once again, this time swiftly, and looked up at Norman after he was done.

"I will do my best! And I will not disappoint you, all of you."

Norman's eyes were a touch wide as the boy was mere inches from his face, but softened as the youth showed a more boyish side. It was good to see such enthusiasm, such excitement for the prospect of his future; it was moments like these that gratified Norman and made him feel like he'd made the right decision to step in as Headmaster. A small smile lingered on his face as he watched More regain his composure, chuckling a little himself. The man felt that his new student would be more than an ample example of a Savior.

"I know you'll do your best," he replied warmly, his smile spreading to a touch of a grin, "and you've already pleased me by accepting the offer. Try not to worry about all of us so much as disappointing yourself; we're here to help you, so don't hesitate to reach out to any of us if you feel the need." Norman wouldn't say it outright, but that invitation was extended to both school work and his personal needs. More was going to have a lot of growing to do, and the Headmaster wanted to make sure his staff was there to support him.
