"Oh yoooou! yooou!" a very annoyed very loud female voice broke over the sound of the smooth waves. frustrated howls and grunts of a struggle followed soon after. one would assume that there was a dispute between two bodies going on in the sand. until one actually saw what this "dispute" was about.
a large lavender fin, flailed angrily in the dry sand, having lost its colorful gleam due to the layers of sand not caking it.
her entire upper body was tangled up in what looked like sea weed. drenched white hair plastered all over her face as she squirmed and struggled against her green captures
"I'll dry up! I'll dry! up let me GOOOOO" she gave another loud struggle then fell limp into the sand. huffing and tired. attempting to blow the hair from her face.
this could be a problem.

What was this place? It was like the sky had fallen down and squished the trees. It smelled funny. Was this what the sky smelled like? It made funny noises, like ksssshhhsssss, ksssshhhhssssss, like it was breathing. It was very shiny -- were the shiny things stars? The baby cervitaur toddled closer to look at the sky-on-the-ground. But when he got closer, he saw that the sky was moving! It was climbing, grabbing the sand, trying to eat the ground up!
"Raaaaar!" Furze hollered, charging down the beach on wobbly legs. He kicked at the sky to make it stop eating the land. His little hooves made a splash and he gasped -- the sky was cold! But it backed away, rolling off with a hissing noise and clutching the sand with fizzling white fingers.
Triumphant, the cervitaur followed it, kicking it and sending sprays of it flying everywhere. This seemed to make it angry though, because it only returned, stronger than before. His eyes widened in fear but he kept kicking and hitting it. He was the only one there to defend the land from the sky. If he ran away, the ground would get all eaten up and there would be nowhere to stand anymore. After a few minutes he was tired, soaked, and freezing, and still the sky was moving higher and higher up on the sand.
Eventually the sky managed to knock him over. He dragged himself up and coughed and spat. The sky tasted really bad and burned his eyes. "Go 'way!" he whined at it, waving his tiny fists. "Go back home!"
But the sky didn't go away. Even as he stood still, panting, he watched it moving back and forth, breathing ksssshhhhhssss, ksssshhhhhssss. Why was it going back and forth? He wasn't attacking it anymore. That was just weird. He skittered away from it. Looking to his left and his right he could see that the whole sky was heaving back and forth, back and forth, all by itself.
Curious, Furze followed the beach, watching the sky in case it tried anything funny. His hooves slipped around in the sand and it was slow going.
Soon he heard someone yelling up ahead. He tried to pick up his pace. The sky must be eating someone! He had to go stop it! "I'm comin' I'm comin'!" he yelled. "I'll save you!" He ran and ran after the sound of the voice. But when he got close enough, he was puzzled. It didn't look like the sky was doing anything at all. Actually, it looked like the sand was eating the person! A new enemy!
"Raaaaar!" The baby cervitaur galloped awkwardly over to the scene of the crime and started kicking the sand that was covering the person and trying to eat her up. "Bad sand! Bad sand!" He lost his balance and fell over, but squirmed back up and flailed at the sand with his fists. "Get off!"

head snapping off the sad at the sound of a child's bellow. Lavyn struggled to shake the hair from her eyes as the voice stopped close to her, and started yelling at the sand.... the sand? utterly confused, feeling spray of sand hitting her sore body, she managed to get one eye clear.
blinking in surprise to see a baby Cervitaur, a little white baby... boy probably.
"uhh" she said confused. "hey hey hey!" she called trying to get his attention "why are you yelling at the sand?"
land creatures just got more and more strange. though she figured she could hardly judge them on what a baby is doing.

When the person started talking to him, he stopped attacking the sand and peered at her. She looked weird. "Sand eatin' you," he explained patiently. He jabbed a finger at the sand, then jabbed it at her, then mimed vast chomping motions. Then he gave it a final kick. It appeared to be lying quite still, and he beamed proudly. "I stops it." As an afterthought he glanced over at the massive blue plain and added, "Sky fell down."

stares at the little one with a wide eye, not entirely sure of what to make of his... conclusions... slowly though, forgetting her discomfort as the sun dried out her skin, a wide smile spread across her face, her cheeks turning pink
"ooohhhh" she squeaked, wiggling slightly against her bonds "my hero!"
slapping her tail a couple of times, can't contain how ADORABLE this little guy was.
"oh don't worry about the sky. listen my little hero, you think you can get the real monster for me?" glances around.

Furze's eyes lit up at the idea of a real monster. He rubbed his hands together and hopped in place. "Yeah yeah!" Something to fight besides the sky and the sand!

Struggles against the sea weed. "its holding onto me right now. and I'm afraid if it does not let me go, its going to cause me to shrivel up like an old hag" put on a dreaded look and wiggles again "you'll get this monster off of me won't you?"

It was a strange monster, but Furze didn't second guess it. He grabbed onto it with both hands, dug in with all four hooves, and dragged at the seaweed with all his might. Being small even for a toddler he didn't have a whole lot of might, but fighting seaweed was a lot more productive than fighting water. "Raaaar monster get off!"

Smiling brightly as the little one started tugging at the weeds. Still keeping her smile up as a feeling of doom falls over her. Well of course he would not be able to get her loose, he was still such a tiny little thing.
”Yeah that’s what I told it!” she explained. “Oh hey there little hero” she said after a while of watching him tug at the sea weed. “Do you know if your mommy is around nearby? Or your daddy?” she asked nodding encouragingly. He was just a baby, he had to have parents, and they would be just perfect to help her out of this bind.

"Mommy and Daddy are at home," he said, then added proudly, "I runned away."
This monster was being so stubborn. But it wasn't fighting back, just sitting there not moving. He bit it, but it tasted bad just like the sky-on-the-ground did. "Blech!" He made a face and stomped on the monster in retaliation. "Yucky."

her smile drooped slightly, "oh..." he ran away from home? he was a strange little boy "um well... is your home far?" she asked eagerly. blinking as he kicked the sea weed. "oh, well, its covered in sand honey," she said with another blush and adoring smile "its going to taste pretty bad"
she had tried that earlyer, but found she could not reach it with out mouth to stars biting at it.

Furze's expression turned a bit suspicious. "Why you wanna find Mommy and Daddy?" He was worried that he was going to get in trouble again. That was why he ran off in the first place; it would be pointless to let this stranger find them and bring him back. He decided to do some shrewd bargaining. "If I get the monster off, you gotta promise not to tell Mommy and Daddy where I am."

Layvn tilts her head, then let out a nervous chuckle "I promise I won't tell." not that she really could. the moment she got the chance she would get back into the water. "and even if you can't I won't be able to tell"
she squirmed a bit more at the thought.
"why did you run away anyway little guy?" she asked, twisting her pinned hands understand the seaweed.

"Good." With that worry out of the way, Furze went back to tugging at the yucky-tasting monster. In between exaggerated grunts of effort he said, "Mommy and Daddy say stay in the corner. I'm a bad boy!" He sounded quite pleased with himself. "So I runned away."

oh yes even for a baby he was a very strange little guy. but at the very least he seemed to know what he wanted.
watching him tug. "well, don' you miss your mommy and daddy? I'm sure they miss you allot"
mustering up what energy she had left to struggle with him. her body was starting to hurt. especially her fin that was exposed the most to the sun.
letting out a soft whimper, she wriggled from side to side, trying to get sand over her scares in an attempt to block it from the heat, and get as much moisture as was possible under the sand.
"o okay lets try something elce" she said, trying to shake the hair from her face again, he was still so little, she didn't think he would be able to push her back into water. or back into a position where she could roll in herself. "go around the Seaweed and try and find one of the ends of it. maybe he can untangle it like that."
