Disclaimer: The following is rated RR for Religious Rant I am an atheist, if you couldn't gather that from the title. People look down on me because I'm an atheist, like I'm below them for not believing in a made up character. Then they go on to treat me like an idiot and an evil person based souly(??) on the fact the I HAVE AN INDEPENDENT MIND. Then they try to "show me the light" by "proving" that there must be a god. One girl tried to prove to me that there was a god by drawing a really bad cross. Then she asked me what it was, so I said "A plus sign", and she said in response "No, it's a crucifix". Please be constructive. More stupid conversion attempts coming soon blaugh

I believe everyone has a right to believe in what they believe in. I personally though don't want someone shoving their "religion" or "athesiam" down my throat. Ya know? gonk

Levis? Might I know this girl? Just wondering. >.< I remember the tirade in our school newspaper that basically freaked out on us because of the One Way club and how God was everywhere, blah, blah, blahhh... That was a crazy thing to put in our school newspaper. =/ I get treated the same way 'cus I'm Buddhist. I hate it when people try shoving religion down your throat.

I know, but as an atheist I am actually the least trusted minority in America. Right in front of Muslims.

see i know a little on how you felt because i had a VERY VERY close friend -we almost went out- that was atheist. he would tell me how people treated him and talked to him, and in a way it hurt me because nobody should be treated like their stupid just because they don't believe in the same thing that they believe in. one reason why i believe that our friendship worked is because we respected each other and each others belief.

not everyone tries to shove religion down everyone else's throats... and don't think of people with religion as weak or having a non independent mind people who believe in god understand that the world isn't about them and their wishes and all the stuff they want to do its not a bad thing to have "religion" and your right everyone should have the right to believe what they want, but don't go bashing religions like Christianity, Muslims, or Buddhists... i have several friends who have a different belief than me, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna be their friend, and it really doesn't mean that i am not gonna share what i believe with them. if they say i" i really don't believe in this can you please not talk bout it" than yeah you shut your mouth bout it...otherwise you can casually bring up yourfaith at the right time with out shoving it down peoples throats...
and if you don't want to hear other peoples beliefs and their faith then don't be getting in their faces bout yours

that is very true. personally i wasn't "bashing religions" considering i dabbeled in a few religions myself trying to find the right one i guess you can say. anyways im off the topic. but i mean if you bring it up casually in a conversacion and then drop it if someone asks you its cool. but there are some people that just dont leave it alone and keep raming it down your throught saying how wrong you are for not believing in a higher being and how your gowing to go to hell and all this stuff which is wrong. you shouldn't say things like that to a person to make them believe in what you believe in.

i understand that some people do that, but that is no reason for people to hate everyone that has the same religion and beliefs, or to think of the people that believe in that as all the same... everyone is different i understand u went bashing them , but i deal with so many hypocrites that get mad a t me and my friends who try to explaining our faith to them, and they say they don't wanna hear it , then hey try to shove the fact that they think i am wrong and an idiot down my throat along with their view points...its just so stupid... trying to shove a religion or belief down a persons throat will only make them want to reject it even more, if they want to know about it, they will in time if they ask or hint at it...but yeah not everyone tries to get in other peoples faces bout their faith... -Bella
