DATES 1st- tsuitachi 2nd-futsuka 3rd-mikka 4th-yokka 5th-itsuka 6th-muika 7th-nanoka 8th-youka 9th-kokonoka 10th-tooka 14th-juuyokka 20th-hatsuka
Irregulars 14th-juuyoka 20th-hatsuka 24th-nijuuyokka
Dates are a fairly easy thing to memorize in japanese, seeings as how you only have memorize 31, and even less if you think about it. The 1st through 10th have their own translations, but after that there are only a few irregulars. For 11-19, you would put 'ju' then the second number (i.e. for 23rd you would put 'san'), and then nichi, which essentially means day. So, it would come out 'ju-san-nichi'; or, in engrish speak, 'the twenty-third day'.
Ex. 11th-ju-ichi-nichi 16th-ju-roku-nichi 21st-ni-ju-ichi-nichi 27th-ni-ju-nana-nichi

Here's a link where you can click on the words and hear them pronounced. http://japanese.about.com/bl_dates.htmI'll double whatever prize Fluffy has (if it's a Gaia thing o.O) if somebody can find the Japanese translation for "who", "what", "when", "where", "why", "which", and "how". PM me with the source and you'll get something cool...after I sell my tickets. o.o No crappy websites where you type in the word and it translates it for you either...don't trust those. <.< P.S. Are we going to learn this tommorow? o.O If we are I can get you months and years maybe.

UndeadChocobo Umm, you posted this here on the 19th..juugo-nichi? o.o And here's a link when you can click on the words and hear them pronounced. http://japanese.about.com/bl_dates.htmI'll double whatever prize Fluffy has (if it's a Gaia thing o.O) if somebody can find the Japanese translation for "who", "what", "when", "where", "why", "which", and "how". Are we going to learn this tommorow? o.O If we are I can get you months and years maybe. Ju-go-nichi is the fifteenth, you're a bit off. Oh, and the prize (now that I've decided) may not be something on gaia if the person doesn't get on much. *coughs* almost everybody *cough, hack, wheeeeze* X.x

Akamaruy Oh, and the prize (now that I've decided) may not be something on gaia if the person doesn't get on much. *coughs* almost everybody *cough, hack, wheeeeze* X.x Yeah, make sure you don't send Travis any of the new stuff I'm finding. I'm trying to force him to make a Gaia by cutting him off on the Japanese packets. And you still didn't answer my question about tomorrow. stare

It's okay, but go ahead and erase the post because I was hoping for the other members to answer after today's lesson. Yes, we are learning the dates, and yes, it would be nice if you could add some extra material. (It might even force Travis to come)

Ok, I'll bring some stuff with me. Didn't see years on the website I was using (don't want to use a different one because I don't have time to cross-reference right now), but I got months, days of the week, and seasons. biggrin Also, having the prize as a Gaia item might make people want to be on more...or something...besides, if they answer the question, they must be on Gaia. o.O
