I'm going to move this to the Fangirl/Fanboy section since there is a lot of drooling over characters involved.

Oi where's the poll option for Doctor 4?!??! 4 is definitely my favourite Doctor, he's just so ... well, Doctorish. You know, the curly hair, the extra long scarf, quirky personality, just a real cool Doctor. Ten... is really cute (really really) but doesn't quite have the same... ... what would you call it? ... Doctorness as 4 does. Yays for bad vocabulary...
From Torchwood... well I haven't seen that many episodes but so far everyone has something that gets on my nerves a bit. So Jack I guess, he's a pretty cool guy... and... the face of Bo. Gotta love him for that.

I think my favourite would have to be David Tennant. I've seen at least one story from every Doctor, and I just find his to be one of the best performances.
Mind you, I will always have a soft spot for Sylvester McCoy. He was my very first Doctor, back when I was the tender age of four years old.

Which Doctor is my top favorite always changes (right now, Fifth), but here are some of the reasons I like them all:
1) Unimpressed by him in "An Unearthly Child", I loved him in "The Daleks" because he so wanted to satisfy his curiosity that he sabotaged the TARDIS temporarily. Since then, he seems sort of fun and mischievous to me (little goat's feet). 2) Clever little man. He fights for what he believes is right and doesn't give up. He works well with his companions. He's awesome! 3) With Jo Grant, he makes me think of the ideal grandfather. Nice; not always patient, but enough; funny at times (if I need humor, I watch "Spearhead from Space"); he also fights for what he believes to be right and is very protective. I can't get enough of him. He likes to think for himself and be able to do things himself, but he uses help. 4) Very funny and interesting, a bit on the nutty side. He likes to think things out alone and be independent (catlike). He often seems like he doesn't really need anyone (and does okay in "The Deadly Assassin"), though that sometimes actually bugs me. 5) Sweetie. Wherever he and his companions go, he likes to walk around and look around. After Adric died, he was sad about it (also see his regeneration scene), but he did at least make an attempt to cheer everyone up. He doesn't really seem to want to cause pain and regrets when he does. I just think he's wonderful. 6) He's so nutty and full of himself that he's hilarious, even if the stories get...well...blah. I think the only time he made me go "whoa!" was when he attacked Peri in "The Twin Dilemma". If I thought my family and neighbors were a bit on the nutty side... 7) Smart guy. If anything is going on, he needs to see. He wouldn't be great to be with because he can be so manipulative. Also, if he can take Ace to a house that she hated without telling her, what else would he do? However, some of those kinds of things make the stories interesting to watch. 8.) I can't say much. Large emotions, which I like at times, and not bad at investigating things. I only saw the movie; don't know the audios or books. 9) He did something awful, but he feels guilty about it. He can do what is necessary or what he feels is right without hesitation, even if he doesn't really like it. I feel bad for him. 10) He's funny. He gets a bit too much into the large showing of emotions, especially anger and sadness, for me, but it moves him to do what he needs to do to set things right. In something like "Gridlock", when Martha asks him about Gallifrey, he tries to hide sadness. Made me want to hug him. He's beautiful.

I'm afraid I've only seen enough episodes to really know two doctors, 10 and 5, and I love them both. This is my take on them.
10: My first doctor, and super cute. He's very intelligent, is very funny without even really trying to make a joke, he's expressive with his emotions when he isn't trying to hide them, he's crazy curios and isn't satisfied if he isn't having an adventure.
5: The 5th is more sensitive and quiet, he isn't as emotional as 10 and would really prefer a nice peaceful time than an adventure, though he doesn't really mind if he does. I don't think much of his companions (other than Nyssa) and they sometimes seem to be a bit of an annoyance to him, but he treats them nicely and even when he doesn't seem to care as deeply as 10, he's proved several times (Caves of Androzi) that he really does care deeply even if he doesn't express it.

I'm still learning the series but I love the Ninth Doctor. Right now he's my favorite with Tennant in at a close second.

No 4th? No 7th?
Aw, heck.
I adore Peter Davison, so therefore methinks the 5th is my fav, but who can leave out 4 and 7?!

I say 10 just because he's my doctor. I mean, I really latched onto him way more than I did 9. I guess orginally I was leaning towards 5 but he was never really mine. Besides, he's old enough to be my father (literally, Pete's daughter is only 2 years older than me and he and my dad swapped "diaper-changing stories," makes the squeeing a little creepy).
Yeah, 10 is my doctor.
