I've had and still have many characters roaming around my past and mind, but my most important one at the moment is:

Mallisa
She is the main character of my french novel "Tombe Souveraine" (Sovereign Tomb)

(alterations if any, every week. Might pull out other MC's while I'm at it)
PostPosted: Thu Sep 20, 2007 7:05 pm

Mallisa is a young girl, 14 years of age, who lives with her father and her dog Kim. She has brown hair and brown beady eyes. She has a roundish face and tan skin. In town she wears a little dress like all the girls around. Mallisa learns quickly, she is clever, but generally naive and doesn't know much of the society around her. She's learned to live as people live, but she is prone to drift off more, drift off onto adventures in the vast forest with her dog. She looks rather young due to her childish attitude, most of the children in the town are younger than her and she rubs off from them, this does give her a very argumentative outlook when someone defies her and she knows she's got more power.

Her true adventure begins when a tyranous Leech, Vipamor, sends his army to abduct the country and form them into mindless fighting drones. To save the land, one must make fast to free the captured colonies and destroy the evil leader controling everyone. Unfortunately no one can just barge in and save the country, the undead have a knack for mind control and no one is safe. The only way one can be safe is with the "amulette d'aureole" which (through history) has been a source of immunity to mind control and deliveration of posesion. The problem is only a virgin of death can bear the burden of this necklace, and the only virgin of death with enough intelligence and energy to save Hurior (the country) is Mallisa. So Mallisa is sent on a journey to attempt stopping Vipamor from trooping her people and taking him off his throne.

(there's a much more complexe back story, plot twist which I can't really metion)

there's so much more I could write about her, what to write?
PostPosted: Fri Sep 21, 2007 3:10 am

I like the idea of that <3

You mentioned she was intelligent but in what manner? Tactically? Street smart (er, nvm, you said she was naive...) Outside of influence on the children, how is she more powerful than other people? What does it mean to be a virgin of death? Simpy that they've never seen someone die? Maybe she's a virgin and her parents died - making her the virgin child of a deceased couple?

Just share as much as you can without giving away the entire story :3

Umm yah intelligent meaning she learns quickly and she is observant, though she may misinterpret things she sees, she will understand them anyways. She is not very powerful, again just a child from her colony, and unfortunately the only person capable of bearing the "amulette d'aureole". though she is flash trained to fight in like 2 days before she leaves on the adventure for there is no time left.

Virigin of death is someone who has not seen death, felt death come their way, and generally don't even know what it is. Her father is VERY protective and due to fact that her mother died at birth he keeps the whole death thing quiet. He never knew this would cause herr to go on a quest to save the country.

How come she's still avirgin of death and her mother has died, well her mother died a few hours after giving birth when Mallisa was resting.

She sets off on the journey alone with her dog, again because someone who is not immune to mind control would have been bound to lose. She does meet up with a young boy in her adventure and since she saved him from a burning house she decided she would bring him to safety, she didn't know how, but she would do all that she could. When the opportunity came to send him to safety he decided to stay with her, he could be of aid and he needs to find his father who was abducted by ghouls.

what did she dream about before she was chosen to save the world?
has that changed/does that affect her during the adventure?

...for example if she wanted to be a housewife before she was trained, during the quest does that change? if it does, why? how?

Ooo I love your question, I never thought about what she wanted to do. I don't think she's really got her mind to that right now, although she is fourteen and lives in a very labourful era, I don't think girls do much in her colony, although I guess she was thinking she would be cooking, farming or gathering for the town. Her dad works in his home and makes various sculptures of wood. He's not one to get much income for the colony. The white clan, which Malisa is from is any ways not a high income colony. Although Mallisa has a lot of passion for her dad's work, she'd rather get her hands dirty, and get down in the dirt.

Now did her having to save Hurior change her mind on this, not really, first of all she doesn't even know what to expect from the whole journey and doesn't know how it will change her, and rght now her future labour is not the first thing she thinks about. Subconscously I don't think she would change very much, although she would become much more aware of her world, her place is at home, and if ever she's missing the action she'd just go on an adventure in the woods with her dog. Fame might change her perspective a bit, in any case she's not really into the whole army thing.

ahh, kk. interesting. smile

does she accept or rebel against having to save the world? how did she first react to the news?
how does not having a mother affect her?

Umm when she was first taken to be tested as virgin of death she had no idea what was going around, and being overwhelmed by big priests and being stuck in the church with all the women of town was scary. She wanted to leave, but her father had told her everything was okay, so she stayed and sighed, and wondered, until finally she was chosen and then she just blanked out. Normally she would have a playful attitude but this time everything went so fast, and she was brought to a secret place without her dad and dog, and she couldn't even know what was going on, if she did her "virginity" would be stolen from talk of death.

So she was told to save Hurior, of course she was uncertain, how will it be, I'm not sure I want to. She's not the one to say no, especially not to superiors. With that they told her she was their only hope. So she got the amulette and was now able to listen to death etc so her adventure was explained. She was frightened, but what could she do, there was no other way, and she thought, with her observing and loving nature, it's me or the rest of Hurior. So she left and voila, though throughout the adventure she does act playful, not when she's alone, but with allies she is, and she brings the mood back up.

Not having a mother is no big deal, she did realize she didn't have one but she never knew her mother and she doesn't like to linger or grudge upon things. She loves her dad and dog, and appreciates the people of her colony and she needs nothing more. She has asked her father about her mother, he only told her she was gone and left it at that.

So what are you going to do about the dog? What role will the dog play? Sidekick, friend, support?
PostPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2007 1:37 pm

I guess you can say all, and there's a big plot twist about the dog but you learn that in the last book.

Kim, her dog, is a main character, with Mallisa, and another boy.
