Has anyone used this feature that the administrators have provided us with this last week? I am wondering of its effectiveness. There are many different definitions of a 'swear' or 'vulgar' word. Many different cultures use different forms of words as swear words. So how effective is this?
Question: What is your definition of a vulgar or 'swear' word?
Question: Depending on the context of the word when used, does it still promote it to be a 'swear' word.
If someone doesnt know what feature I am talking about. Go to your profile and click "Edit Profile" which is located under profile once you are in your profile. Scroll down and you should find a 'filtering system' with 3 options. Off, Medium, High.
This feature is to make 'american vulgar' words appear to be something else. Depending on the level its set at.

I have mine set on high, and so far the only word I have seen edited was the f word....and when it edits stuff it shows the first letter and then some stars..Other four letter words are left unedited. It is useless. It doesn't hurt to leave it on, though.

ChibiWawa I have mine set on high, and so far the only word I have seen edited was the f word....and when it edits stuff it shows the first letter and then some stars..Other four letter words are left unedited. It is useless. It doesn't hurt to leave it on, though.

i have mine set on high....and it even edits names......like Tiancum(from this guild) it edits c** out of his name....it shows tian***

There are only 6 censored words. rolleyes Several of which are not censored should be before some of these. There are 3 out of 4 vulgar words censored. And 3 out of 5 sexual vulgar terms censored.

They should censor things, yes, but they should also make it take the things in context.
IE - Tiancum's name. While the end has been created to be a sexual reference, its part of his name.
I've had .... issues .... with censoring things. On a chat room I go to a girl got kicked for using the term "c** Laude". Its latin >< She shouldn't've gotten kicked.
