Asad eventually came to a stop, his sweaty hands gripping hard to the wooden spear. His clothing still reeked of smoke. Beside him his lion, who he called "Tau", came to a panting stop as well. Both glanced back over their shoulders towards where the village had been. The had come out of no where, and so quickly.

They were strange...human..but pale like Bat had been. It didn't make sense...Bat had been a good man, he had taught him some of the language. Tao had been Bat's catch originally but the man had two dogs of his own and no use for an obviously disabled lion cub. Asad had kept him around with the original intention of making a nice pelt out of him later, but the lion was harmless. And he found that few could approach his home with the lion stretched outside of the doorway. Since his mane had begun to grow in, the two had been almost inseparable.

For Kayin, the weird creatures had saved him. Ciyari cared very little for her sons. Utomo and himself were often left to fend for themselves, leaving their small family for days on end to hunt. Being mute, Kayin was at a double-disadvantage. He couldn't hear the prey, but he also couldn't hear how loud his own clumsy movements were. Prey scattered, he was left hungry. Utomo had kept him alive until the day he'd been snared. Despite his constant cries for his brother, only the two-leggers had found him. However, they fed him so long as he behaved. There was no language between the two other than a few motions that Kayin had eventually picked up on. Lay down, sit, stay, go get it, and roar. Pretty basic.

The lion snorted once more, glancing through his shaggy and ratty mane ahead. It had never grown in.. he'd been malnourished growing up. Even the two-leggeds didn't provide enough to really feed a full grown lion. Enough to keep him alive and able, but not enough to promote full, healthy growth.

It was something rare and strange for the little sea lioness to be out as far as this. She had been away from the sea for half a day for no reason other than because she could. She was a small lioness, though this was far from because she was malnourished, far from it the sea and her parents had cared for her, her whole life, even now they fed her, she could not hunt alone, she couldn't even kill things instead she fostered little creatures she found that were ill. She'd even adopted a sea lion pup at one point though it had eventually returned to the sea and probably it's real parents. Siyasure had never quite grown in tot he mind set of the rest of her siblings, she was slow in the mind, easy to fool, and easy to convince. Her sea blue eyes watched the world through rose tinted glasses. Everything was good, everything was nice, the world was a place to play and explore.

It really was strange for her to be so far away from the sea, she knew where it was though, it was behind her tugging at her tail pulling her back towards its ebb and flow. She wouldn't be able to continue walking away from it for too much longer, she hated not being able to hear the water washing off the sand, splashing from the rocks. She could not smell the salt or taste the fish that she had eaten that morning.

She had just turned back when she heard the strange foot falls behind her and lifting her nose to the air she drew in the scent of a strange lion and something else. Having never seen man she knew nothing of his exsistance and being youthful in her mind despite her adolecent body she didn't know what fear was. Fearlessness was a cubs only joy and it was one that the young sea lioness had always held on to, so she sat and waited for the two creatures to come in to sight. Perhaps the lion would like to play with her? She needed a friend, her siblings were usually too busy being 'adults' to play with her.

User ImageKayin licked at his chops and shook himself out. Loose fur from his pelt and his mane flew loose all around him. He was a pathetic sight though most of the time he continued to simply smile it off. Around his thinning mane he wore a thick leather collar. A gift from Bat to Asad. There was no way a simple rope would contain a lion though Kayin made no clear attempt to free himself. It was more or less a precaution against having the lion confused for a wild beast.

Asad glanced over to the lion, giving a smile of reassurance as he stood himself up. He was certain that they'd left the tribe's lands days behind, no one would pursue them this far out- or so he told himself. "We can...take it...slow now, Tau..." He panted, reaching out to tease the ruff of mane in-between the ears.

Kayin smiled right back and turned to pad forward. It was then that he spotted another figure approaching them. Where a normal lion's ears would roll forward, his simply hung down against his mane. He stood himself upright with his mouth parted, tasting the air. Perhaps it was Kiluia? The color was similar...

Siyasuras tail wiggled as she saw the other lion. She all but ignored the presence of the man, it kind of looked to her like a big moving rock so there fore could be ignored. Padding forwards her ears flicked in to an upright poissition her head high and her foot steps dancing and playful she sauntered towards the male lion, cool blue eyes smiling.

Siyasura had always been a female of very few words, this was partially because she could never seem to get those words out in the right order so as a hello she rubbed her cheek aganst Kayin's and smiled childishly.

Sweet blue eyes blinked/ owlishly up at the human that stood at the lions side, she had never seen one of those before and it was for simplicities sake that she just shrugged the creature off as just another thing she didn't or couldn't understand.

Smiling at the adult male lion she flickered her tail and bounced playfully. She wished for a game with this stranger before she turned back towards her home and the sea.

Asad instantly noticed the lion coming at them and positioned his spear out in front of him. It didn't seem to be aggressive... a girl lion apparently, but a dangerous creature none the less. The boy glanced over to Tau who didn't seem to be all too concerned about the stranger's approach. Still, he didn't want to take any chances.

However, the lioness seemed to be just as tame as Kayin... or just overly friendly. Perhaps it was mating season? While the young human didn't dare lower his spear, he gave the lioness some space, watching her closely.

User ImageKayin, on the other hand, seemed to welcome the gesture with a confused smile. He wasn't the brightest of lions but he knew enough to know that this was not normal behavior in the least. Most lions were a bit wary of a traveling stranger, most especially one with a human. The lioness by the river had been a bit more guarded. Friendly, but guarded. This one was greeting him the way an old friend might.

"Herlo." He offered, stepping back a bit. His voice was soft, perhaps more so than an adult male's should be, and horribly slurred. "'Cuse me bu...who are you?"

Siya glanced at the human once more eyeing the spear with a tilt of her head, what was that thing? was it something to play with? Shaking her head she turned her gaze back to the matter at hand play time with the strange lion.

"uhmm Siyasura." Her watery blue eyes watched the male lion with interest, he seemed very quiet considering he was a fully grown liuon. Her father was quiet but in a differnt way. "come, play." Her words were simple and few,s he did not like to go in to, to much deapth with her conversdations, she always felt out of place when chatting to others, her tongue usually tied in all the wrong places, her words becoming jumbled and lost in a sea of slurring nonesence.

Still, she beleived she had said enought o make the other lion understand her. She wanted to play wasn't that enough information? He wouldn't ask her to have more conversation. She hoped not, she always felt foolish even around herfamily when asked to join the conversation. She lived always in her own little world where it was okay to continue to play and have fun and raise orphans of the sea.

Her mind was set to play with this new lion and she wasn't going to leave without a little game.

User ImageKayin leaned forward a bit to watch the female speak, it might strike her as odd how attentive he was, both eyes watching her mouth very, very closely. He took a few more moments before he'd look up to her once more, having made sense of what she'd said. It hadn't been easy to learn how to read lips, but it allowed him to keep a way to communicate between himself and anyone else he met. Asad was different, he could never understand the motions his mouth made, but the hand signals were something he was slowly getting to know more and more.

"Plray?" He glanced over to Asad, then back to her, "We can...you teach? Bu...I ask first?" He cleared his throat a bit, "Loorkin for my brother...Utomo. Harve...ou seen?"

PostPosted: Tue Sep 18, 2007 12:04 pm

Siyasura giggled and bounced a bit when he spoke, he was like her? He struggled with his words? She was almost delighted at this though she quickly screeched to a halt and looked at the male while she tried to untangle his words. She acctually didn't find it strange that he looked so closely at her, she did that sometimes too when she was concentrating really hard. Looking thoughtful she gave a quick nod.

"Yeah..play..like this.." She bounced away from him and chased her own tail for a moment nearlly capturing the long furred tuft in her teeth before she rolled over and landed squarely back infront of Kayin.

"uhmmm..see my brother?" She tilted her head, she wasn't sure what jhe was asking of her, as usual her small world of understanding was starting to collapse around her ears. "My bro..ther sikulu?" Her brow creased again, no that wasn't what he was asking but it was the best her brain could offer.

"Play? Home soon..sea.." She pointed off towards the way she had come from, the sea was behind her, she still had time to play before she had to go home though.

User ImageKayin huffed slightly. It was hard not to be able to fully communicate what he wanted to say. There was nothing wrong with him mentally really, he had the wit of a normal lion. Perhaps a step below if he wanted to be completely realistic but that was hardly his own fault. However, this female seemed to have a difficulty understanding. She heard just fine, that was apparent enough.

Not her brother...he'd never met her in his life. "My brofer." He repeated, a bit quicker so his slur was a bit more apparent. "Utomo... we gots...sep'raterd. An' Kiluia too."

He watched her little display with a smirk, glancing over to Asad who seemed completely baffled at the lioness' behavior. It was pretty obvious that they'd both come to the same conclusion. Kayin, however, could care less if she had a bit of a problem upstairs. He wasn't exactly normal. Perhaps he was like him. Just as smart as anyone but unable to express it.

A little game wouldn't hurt anyone.

He smiled and reached out a paw to kind of bat at her tail, careful to keep his claws in. He'd learned early on how to play gentle. The two-leggers were very strict on what their animals could or couldn't do.

Puuring happily she waved her tail pouncing his paw as he batted at her tail. Wriggling her tufted tail free her butt went up in the air and she pounced Kayin. Her claws were constandly sheathed. Siyasura had never truely had to hunt in her life and her love for anything smaller than herself had long taught her to play gently other wise she could skewer the creature she was trying to rescue. Watery blue eyes smiled happily as she tugged at his shaggy mane playfullt before bouncing off him again and running around to 'hide' behind the human peeping out from behind him as if he could hide ehr completely.

"No brother..nopes.." she shook her head peeping around the other side of the young boys legs once again her perfect blue eyes dancing happily. She wanted to be chased, it seemed she had found someone fun to play with! She hardly ever got her sibling to play games with her so meeting an adult who was wiling to join in her fun was simply a wonderful releif for the young lioness.

Asad tensed up visibly as the lioness darted behind him to hide herself from Kayin. He remained very, very still and quietly kicked himself mentally for having let his guard down. Tau didn't seem all that startled or angry. The lion was very, very protective of him. There'd been a few times Tau would stand over Asad while he slept, growling quietly in that strange voice of his while looking out. The boy was certain there had been another form of predator nearby at the time but few would mess with a fullgrown lion- as pathetic of a lion as he was.

User ImageKayin noted the man's discomfort, any animal would know the tensing of one's body as being defensive and uncomfortable. The lioness didn't seem to note that, however. It was a game to her. Perhaps to get her away from Asad he had to keep a distance as well.

"Carefurl...." He said softly, backing himself up slowly. "He...no speak like you m' me. Don't know y...you fr..riernd."

Siyasura looked up at the man blindly, she blinked her eyes and tilted her head as if this was the first time she had seen the thing standing over them both. Creasing her brow she was about to poke the creature with a claw when the male lion told her to move away. Well if the thing didn't like to play it was no good.

Picking up her giggle again she pounced back over to Kayin and wresstled with his mane in her teeth. "thing am weirded..you from sea? comin' homes?" she blinked at him perfectly innocently her watery blue eyes gently questioning the small male. Everything came from the sea for her, it was the only thing her baffled mind could understand. She had never seen the tall thing or Kayin before but they must have come from the sea. Thats where everything came from, maybe they wer coming back to the sea, this, she considered good and let a smile play on her maw. She needed friends who wanted to play with her, most of her siblings were far too 'grown up' to have fun any more.

User ImageKayin stepped himself between Asad and the lioness, smiling a bit as he lashed his tail from one side to the other. He'd not played in so long... with humans he had to be gentle and any attempts at play- especially at this size -might be taken wrong. He'd been swatted a few good times for attempting such things when he'd been just a bit younger. And he'd lost Utomo back before his mane even started to fill out a bit...well as much as it would at that age.

He crouched himself down, kind of prowling himself clumsily over to send a padded paw at hers. He was unaware of it, but in playing he always made a rumbling sound deep within the pit of his throat.

Asad could only chuckle at his companion's playful nature. He was visibly relieved not to have the strange lioness hiding behind him though for the moment she seemed relatively harmless.

Siyasura grinned when he started to make his soft growling sounds and she nipped indevidually at each of his paws as he tapped at her her tail flickering up over her back. This meeting for the seaside lioness was becomeing stranger and more wonderful as the moments went on. She wanted Kayin to come back to the sea with her, they could play in the sea and chase the waves, and fight the hermit crabs! Bouncing back and forwards on light, though rather clumbsy paws she looked off in to the distance.

"Home thatway. Come..home..play?" She raised a brow at Kayin hopeing he would understand her rather slow slurred speech.

Kayin watched her talk, ears rolling forward a bit. Home? She wanted him to come too? That was a first. He wasn't sure how to answer right away. Before answering he turned to look at Asad, both ears falling back once more.

"...he come?" He nodded back towards Asad as he glanced her way. "I not can go without..."
