Battleground Selection! Randomizer...start!
The screen towering above the stadiums' bleachers began to rotate clockwise to determine what field the pokemon would fight on. Anticipation began to build as the dial began to slow down... Finally, it came to a complete stop. The field of choice was....THE ROCK FIELD! Temors rippled forth from center-field as the basic floor shifted to a rock and dirt field, rock towers jutted forth from the ground to offer a place of escape or an attack advantage. The breeze from the stadium air conditioners stirred the loose sand on the field, this created a mini sandstorm that could possibly blind those who were battling.

Battle....START!
The offical for the matched stepped up the plate, his blue-black uniform visual under the brilliant florenscent lights of the stadium. Clutching a flag in each hand, the young man glanced left and right before making the announcement to start. The deep voice echoed through the headset microphone and rang out from the stadium speakers. "This is an offical stadium match! Each trainer may use only one pokemon each! There is no time limit! Are both trainers ready?" At the confirming nods from both pokemon and trainer, he flicked both flags into the air; once both flags moved south, the battle could offically begin.

The echoing cheers of hundreds of pokemon fans rang out as Jennifer and her Raichu took their places on the east end of the field. Gripping the camo-colored pokeball to calm her nerves, the trainer glanced at her best friend who nodded before returning his gaze to the field. Pumping a fist into the air, she flashed a broad grin at her pokemon. "Alright Aeon, let's win this for the folks back home!" "Raichu!" Sparks flew rapidly from Aeons' cheeks as the blue-eyed Raichu glared at the Sneasel that stood on the west end of the rocky field. He was ready...ready to fight and to win!

Complete aural chaos greeted the trainer who stepped into place at the opposite side of her adversary, under the intense glare of the stadium reflectors. Modest, but with a distinctly austere expression.
Revanash stared at her reflection on the Great Ball she held, concentrating on isolating the noise, lest it make her nervous.
"Let's do this, Hecate!"
A beam of red light materialized the small, dusky Pokemon. Hecate hissed at the sudden noise, then focused on the Raichu across the arena.
"Sneee..."
The Sneasel stood on it's strong hind legs, holding dangerously clawed arms before itself in defiance.

At the appearance of both pokemon, the offical moved the flags downward in a single snap of fabric.
"Let the battle BEGIN!!"
"Alright Aeon! Let's start this battle off with a bang; use your Volt Tackle attack!"
"RAICHU!"
Aeon bolted foreward and, gathering speed, began to charge up his attack. The electrical aura spread out and became visual to the audience as the discharge bounced off the boulders scattered across the sandy field.
Jennifer watched as her pokemon came closer and closer to his opponent. Would it...could it...it was! It was going to make contact! Jumping up and down, she cheered on her best friend.
"C'mon Aeon! You can do it!"
"RRRrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiCCCCHHHHUUUUU!"
With a great heave, Aeon hurled all of his weight towards the dark-type pokemon.

Hecate was propelled backwards a few feet with the force of the blow.
With a yelp, she tried to shake off the momentanous stun, no doubt caused by the opponent's electricity.
Revanash couldn't help but wincing. That didn't look good, did it?
"Focus now, Hecate! Use Ice Punch!"
The Sneasel's fur bristled as it quickly whipped around to face Aeon. She tore towards him, claws extended, big clouds of dirt in her wake.
Revanash perked. Hecate was going for the weak spot this time...!
"Sneaaa....SEL!"
Claws aglow with a chilling mist, she slashed at the electric Pokemon.

"AEON! Look sharp!"
The warning came too late: Aeon choked as Sneasels' punch connected with his stomach. The frost left a burning sensation as he was thrown half way across the battle ground.
Jennifer watched in horror as Aeon was thrown into one of the stones jutting out of the ground; the rock shattering from the combination of Aeons' weight and the force of the attack. Wincing, she breathed a sigh of relief as the Raichu struggled to his feet and to face his opponent once more.
"Aeon, you sure you can go on?"
At the comfirming nod, she grinned and punched a fist in Sneasels' direction. "Alright then, let's try again! "Aeon! Try your Iron Tail attack!"
Whip-like tail glowing a brilliant silver-white, Aeon raced towards Hecate with cloud of sand and broken rocks flew into the air behind him. Jumping up before he could run over the ice pokemon, Raichu twisted in mid-air which threw his tail end at Hecate with sharp, whip-like speed.

Revanash couldn't help but stare at the Raichu's stunning acrobatics; she knew what was coming, and called to her Pokemon,
"Move out of the way, Hecate!"
The Sneasel growled, tensing both legs to leap away...and she jumped alright, but the moment it took to gather strenght to swerve out of harm's way was too long. Aeon's tail caught her in mid-air, striking with the metallic thunderbolt right between her eyes.
Revanash gasped as she watched Hecate contort sharply in her jump, only to land ungracefully on her side with another surge of dust.
The trainer waited, anxious, while her Pokemon shook dirt off her inky pelt, swaying a bit, before facing Aeon again.
"Neee..."
Revanash hesitated a bit before her next order
"Hecate, use Brick Break!"
The Sneasel sprung towards her opponent again, hopping from rock to broken rock to finally dive at the Raichu with both claws held high.

Landing on the sandy ground, Aeon was about to turn when the air conditioners decided to turn on at that exact moment. The churning air current whipped up the loose sand scattered on the field, effectively blinding the Raichu for a few moments. Muttering, Aeon attempted to wipe the sand from his vision when his trainers' call reached his ears.
"AEON! Look out! Sneasel is....."
The call came a few seconds too late. Out of the dust cloud, Sneasel charged foreward, and with a strike from its' glowing claws, nailed the electric pokemon square between the eyes. Slammed into the ground, Aeon stumbled to his feet, seeing pidgeys flying around his head.
"Aeon! C'mon! Let's try a Mega Punch!"
That snapped him back to reality; growling at his opponent, Aeon raced towards the cocky pokemon on it's hind legs while its' fist began to glow a bright white.

Hecate watched her adversary fly back with a satisfied gleam in those heliotrope eyes. Her forhead hurt a lot from his last attack after all, and she snorted huffily; turning to look at her trainer for approval.
"Don't drop your guard, Hecate!"
And surely, as the Sneasel shifted towards the battle again, it was only to see Aeon's fist connect with her jaw.
White spots exploded in her sight momentarily, as she skidded across the dirty floor, adding more puffs to the already dusty air.
Revanash frowned at her Pokemon's lapse in concentration. She was running out of ideas anyway. Her opponent was strong as he was resilient. She would have to attack from a distance.
"Hecate, try a Shadow Ball attack!"
The dark Pokemon recovered before she had stopped sliding, and quickly got to her feet. She focused on corporealizing a sphere of dark energy between her claws; and as it burst into existance, bathing her inky fur with a violet glow, Hecate slashed at it, propelling the globe against the Raichu.
This was sure to catch him off guard for now.

"Aeon! GET BACK!"
Too late, a point-blank range shadow-ball attack, and it hurt. A grunt was forced from his throat as Aeon was thrown back to the east side of the field; thankfully, he didn't hit any of the pillars.
"RAICHU!"
Aeon landed, slid a bit on the sandy ground, and stumbled before falling flat on his face. Pushing himself up, Aeon flushed angrily at the laughter that rang out from the audience.
"C'mon Aeon, don't listen to them!"
Glancing back, the anger faded as he gazed into his trainers' gentle eyes. Nodding, he flexed his arms playfully before returning to his battle stance. Aeon glared at Sneasel; he was going to beat that pokemon, for his honor and for his trainer's....no, his best friend's honor.
Giggling at her pokemons' antics, Jennifer did a V for victory sign before saying her next command.
"AEON! Use a Quick Attack!"
"RAICHU!" Getting back down on all fours, Aeon instantly closed the distance between himself and Hecate; the white aura began glowing brighter and brighter until, finally, the pokemon threw himself at Sneasel at top speed.

Hecate had barely any time to react this time, before she was slammed full-force by Aeon. The strenght of the blow send her flying against the very edge of the stadium with a cry. The dark Pokemon hissed, frustrated, at the sandy floor beneath her, while Revanash frowned at this, patience and concentration growing thin.
The telltale marks of an inexperienced team.
Raichu and his trainer semed to know that with the attack, she was attempting to avoid his strong, physical hits. Sneasel was a fragile Pokemon after all.
Revanash, in her apprehensiveness, tried to remember what else she had taught her Pokemon.
"Hecate! Use...use you Aerial Ace attack!"
The Sneasel growled low in her throat, before sprinting at full speed towards Aeon, much like he had done just before. But right before making contact with her target, Hecate vaulted high above Aeon, only to dive at him a second later.

Aeon braced himself instead of jumping or dodging; even with his speed, he couldn't dodge an Aerial Ace. As Sneasel came flying down from above, the Raichu instantly planted his tail flat on the ground; this would reduce the amount of recoil he recieved from the attack.
Jennifer watched as the attack nailed her pokemon on the forehead (Ironicly in the same spot as the brick break attack from before). Thankfully, because of his position, he wasn't as confused as before. Still, the scent of blood flowed towards her as the wound on his head began to bleed slightly.
"Hey Aeon! Let's finish this quick-like, ya?"
"RAI RAI!" He flexed both arms and tossed an evil grin at Hecate.
"Okay! Aeon, use Thunderpunch and add some distance!"
Aeon flexed and stretched his right arm a bit before slamming it down on the ground infront of him. A few seconds of silence and then.... The battlefloor began to shake violently as a fissure tore down the center of the field towards Hecate. A powerful electrical aura surrounded the rocks as the magnetic properties of the minerals upped the attacks power. 400/1000

Hecate looked around, bewildered at the threatening static that hovered around the field. And in being distracted by this, made a terrible mistake.
A fissure rent the ground beneath her feet apart, and the Sneasel was left hanging by the claws from the edge, scrambling for purchase. Then, without warning, a surge of electricity that seemed to issue from the gash and stones themselves, shocked her into squirming wildly on the edge.
She must have looked quite comical, because despite her painful predicament, she could hear some spectators laughing.
Revanash flushed, much like she knew her Pokemon was doing right now, and called to Hecate, "Come on Hecate, it's almost over now!"
The Pokemon crawled weakly onto the ground again, getting her breath back until her trainer's next order.
"Use Fury Swipes!"
Hecate shot towards Raichu for the umpteenth time, claws poised before her.
"Sneaaaaa SEL!" she slashed at him like she had done in her first attack, but this time, she wouldn't stop so quickly.
