Has anyone heard of Starship Troopers? It's by Robert A. Heinlein.
If you have, have you read it?
I want to know what others think of it since I just started it.

I've read it. It's a lot more different than the movie. Theres more background story. Dizzy is a guy. And we also read about the "Skinnys".

A good read.

I've only ever seen the movie, the first, not the second. My friend is trying to get me to read it since he says its an amazing book.

I'm not surprised that Dizzy was a guy in the book, though it fits with the movie well enough.

I think I'vewatched the cartoon series.......it was pretty good from memory, so I'm sure the book is awesome.

Starship troopers is an excellent book. I would definatly recommend reading it. that being said it is not Heinlein's best. I would recommend the anthology of his short stories. It is called "The Past Through Tomorrow"

I've seen the movie, and I wasn't even aware that it was based off a book. Dizzy being a guy must have changed things a fair bit, but I guess that's just the way things are.
I've heard the second movie wasn't as good, so I hope it wasn;t based off a book as well.

I heard the sequel was even worse.
