a proud stallion of white, green and red was taking a long cool drink from the stream of water. once he was finished, he lifted his head and gave a toss of his braided mane to get it out of the way. Dyami had decided to take a long walk to ponder things after having talked with Settia and spent time with her. learnign that their oldest son Jazz was mated with someone who wouldn't leave him unlike the mare he had, had foals with. with that thought it made him wonder what his grandson thought of it all since it had been quiet a while since he had seen him. giving a light snort and a flick of a tail he stared at his reflection, ponding and collecting his thoughts.

As the winter was gradually announcing itself to the land sitting beneath the higher set mountains, an air of change was drifting along with it. Each chilly morning, or cool moment switching within the twilight hours became a blessing to a mare that spoke and walked with the snows and season she was born within. Once again the wintry months were approaching as her hooves stepped lightly in the ice mare's stride.
Her memories were flooding like a vivid rainbow, each in descriptive metaphors as each played out. Each were a true blessing, a cherished moment consisting of family, friends, and all she had accomplished. Once in a great while those that had sought enlightenment were suggested to gain something, a beautiful new look upon life and things in balance and harmony. Soon she would turn to this path, a new beginning as her life carried onward.
Fall was finally arriving once again.
But for now she decided upon a walk in the brisk air that so openly invited her, occasionally tussling some leaves from the trees, as they waltzed in pairs to lie upon the ground at her feet. She noticed a familiar face, an old friend from that radiant spectrum of friends her mind preserved quite well. Always holding a good sense about himself and raising quite the family, Dyami was one of the best in her eyes. Besides Alona, Dyami was one of the first she met on her trip from the icy mountains above.
"Dyami," she uttered with her soft voice, though clear enough to be heard. "What brings you out in this lovely afternoon, filled with cool breezes and the scent of change?" She smiled ever so gracefully, yet her heart was proud and full of mirth seeing an old friend. Never childish or impractical she always kept things in check and full of wonderment.

Dyami's ears twitched as he heard a old familiar soft voice of a old friend he had not seen in quiet the while. turning his head to face the voice and grinned. " it's been quite a while since i last had the honor of talking with you. and the need to collect my toughts brought me out on this truely lovely day." it was truely nice to have fun into a old friend, specialy one he had not seen in so long. oh Dyami could be childish in a way but only when his kids and mate brought that side of him out as he usualy was fairly laid back, and calm.

She smiled softly letting the sun warm her back, though it wasn't too warm as the summer days. A just right season; comfortable and relaxing with a hint of the next chill lying upon the breeze.
"Yes the day is quite a nice experience to run into you once more," she nickered with a toss of her head, "And how is your family doing these days? I'm going to be a great-grandmother soon. I just wish that family kept in touch more".
She felt saddened by that thought, but yet little ones always grew and moved out on their own. It was a circle, a noted event that happened to every creature one time or another.

" my family is doing well. and how is yours?" Dyami then chuckled. " well congrades to being a great grandmother. and i know the feeling, my 2nd oldest son Fenrir is hardly around because he off being his own stallion, wild and free. i see my other two kids more. but i would like to meet the one granddaughter i have yet to meet because her mother left with her leaving Jazz to raise the son." giving a soft sigh, it always got to him how he had a granddaughter he would most likey never get to know. "but i can be happy to say jazz did find a mate dispite having kids with someone else."

She traveled within her past seeking moments that made her smile and mingle into images of foals, families, and little things that made her content.
"Both Samedi and Glory, my adopted daughters have mated off and have famiilies of their own. My two sons I'm not sure on, though I do know Kohana found love once, and now his son as well," she mused smiling with the resonance of foal auras lingering about.
Looking upward at the sky her mane shifted and danced in a passing breeze feeling to coolness comfort her aging limbs. Such a welcoming scent of the coming winter, it was like family to her in a sense.
"Have you heard of the coming elder ceremony Dyami?" she queried with a soft tilt of her head, "Have you thought of applying to become one?" she watched him thoughtfully knowing she herself would follow that path soon.

" ah so the filly i remeber who tryed to fly that is friends with tori has found someone. that is good to hear." Dyami chuckled at the memory of how he had met her and the spunky filly Glory when Tori had gone off to play. but remebering the old times of when he had been a new father chasing his sons and daughter about was cut short when he heard Celendria talk of the elder ceremony. " yesh i have heard of the elder ceremony and have but some thought of doing that. though in all seriousness i have not yet decided fully on it." tossing his braided mane, he really had put some thought on it but not too much. " sicne we are on the subject, have you at all concedered it?"

She smiled softly, a gentle gaze setting upon the strong male as old as she was in years. Both had aged gracefully seeing their own blood grow and move onward like the bindings of time itself.
"I have. It seems possibly I've known a time would arouse and present itself to me, standing before the great shaman elder of the tribe, " her eyes flickered smoothly with a sense of recognition, "It is a great honor to stand before one and speak your heart, soul, and mind in obligation".
She flicked her tail smoothly letting each strand fall in a rhythm with one another. Her mind was searching her friend's own thoughts knowing full well he himself was capable, if not skilled to lead and speak of the ancient ways set before him.

" as i expected." Dyami gave a nod in agreement. " yeah it definatly is a great honor, though i wonder if i have what it takes. i have raised 3 foals to the best i could and i have saved a villager from a kalona foal that had decided to attack. but i can not help but have some small doubt." he had a bit of doubt in himself but knew he could express his doubts to his friend here as he could trust her. braid tail flicking back and forth he wondered now what his friend would say. it seemed to him she always knew what to say.

The ice mare blew out softly feeling his doubt lingering within himself, "Becoming an elder is something that you must believe in Dyami. Having doubt that foreshadows your positive thoughts, will always cause discontent in one's soul. What you must do is set forth on a path to fully believe in what you want to do," tilting her head she stood perfectly still, "I fully believe in said statement, and also know you're quite capable. With age comes wisdom my old friend, and wisdom has a way with rewarding those whom seek its bounty."
She smiled and looked toward the passing clouds. Even doubt had once crossed her mind of being a good parent. Raising her boys to walk in her own light and let them find their own paths. Dyami had done the same with his own blood, and she was quite proud of him for being such a good father. No wonder Settia always felt proud around him, she was quite a lucky mare.

Dyami knew right away that his good friend Cel was right in what she said. ofcourse even he had doubts when he had to step up to the plate to raise three foals as a new father but in the end he had done just fine raising his kids with his mate. " as wise as ever my friend and i know your are correct in what you say. i beleive if i can over come the doubt i had when i found out i was to raise foals with my mate, i think i can over coem the doubt i have now about eldership."

She listened to him with a smile that curved upon her serene face. Sometimes it took a few words to help one realize their goal in life. A simple nudge or thought settled lightly like a feather resting upon a silent pool of water.
"Then you must start your enlightenment, a path to what you deserve my old friend. Doubt rests with anyone but its possible to look past that wind that passes you by and focus on the here and now."
She closed her eyes as her reaction went lucid, almost as if the wintry winds were whispering something magical to the ice mare. Her time, winter would be upon them soon. Soon she would part ways with Dyami seeking out Euphoria once more.

Dyami gave a nod of agreement to Cel as she spoke her words of wisedom. " i agree and have no doubt it is something i must do." no longer doubting, he glanced up at the sky for a moment. " but it seems its time i better return to my family before they start to wonder where i gone off to." giving a smile to Cel, he also gave a respectfuly slight bow to her. "until we meet again my friend." taking his leave, he gave only a glance back before returning on his way home to his mate and kids.

Celendia raised her head and whinnied a soft greeting as he made his goodbyes then retreated from whence he had come. The wintry air was growing more frigid day by day, as the leaves departed from their branches in waltzes of autumn making way for winter. Such color and vibrancy as they floated downward in pairs mingled in reds, yellows, green, orange, and finally brown. Like a shower of mother Earth, she rained and distributed color amongst the spread out land around her. The ice mare shook her mane letting it trail like silken silvery mist, the ideal color of her favorite season. Releasing a puff of air from her lungs she noticed how opaque it was becoming with each passing day. To sets of seasons by the turning of the moon made her two years upon the 13th of Dec. A joyous time to rejoice and remember all that had graced her life with song, memory, and forever a laughter that would travel with her.
Watching the emptiness that had once held her friend's presence she smiled to herself, "Fare thee well old friend. And may you find that confidence and self assurance to consider what I've told you." Then with another toss of her head she began walking slowly with guided steps toward her home. Family, friends, loved ones, all who had made the ice mare decide her life would forever be entwined within this blessed land.
