sooooooo...i moved out on friday to University accommodation in Glasgow, which is about an hour and a half from my home.
I get internet *duh* BUT, i'd have to pay £95 for webcam, and £175 for Peer-2-Peer programmes like LimeWire...s**t! and i was looking forward to webcam and LimeWire u.u
soooo...any of you moved out? going to...dreading it?
I was, but it's quite good

I'm in university, but I still live at home. Fortunately, one of Canada's top universities is located in my city, so I don't have to pay the additional expense of living on my own. Yet. That doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to moving out, because I am. I can't wait to be on my own. I know it will be really hard (I'm an emotional person, so I'm forseeing many lonely nights of crying myself to sleep, and many phone calls home to mommy) but I also know it will be good for me.
Congrats on moving out!

Oh, that sucks. :[[ But congrats on moving out!
I am really nervous. I can attend state schools for free, as my dad is a professor but I'm so worried about living expenses - rent, food, utilities, and so on. Plus, I'm a total introvert. Finally being independent though is an exciting idea.
I'm currently a freshman at a local college and living with my parents.

I hear you calling and it's needles and pins I want to hurt you just to hear you screaming my name
Yeah, university expenses really blow your budget. Glad I'm not going to put myself through that. (Not for awhile, anyways.) If I decide to go, I want to be able to support it on my own.
In the meantime, I'm going for this law enforcement thing. Go, RPD! xD
Don't want to touch you but you're under my skin I want to taste you but your lips are venomous poison

Ah, living away from home can be rough...
Since you have internet, do you think a friend or family member would download the things you want for you, then send them by way of IM (MSN) or email? Or does that count as a "peer-to-peer" program?
I'm currently living at home with my parents, but I actually just recently moved back in. I was on my own for a year and moved back mostly for convenience's sake, because I was coming from 3000km away and it would have been easier than trying to set up for a new apartment, job, etc. all long-distance.
It was fun living on my own, but I was pretty young to be living so far from my parents (I was only 18 ), and the stress was hard for me to handle a lot of the time. I know it would have been so much easier if I lived down the street from them... and not a 6 hour plane-ride away.
However, I'm sure you'll have it a lot easier than I did, because you're living in a University accommodation - and they set things up so it's as stress-free as possible. Not only that, but you're only an hour and a half away from home; and really, that's not all too bad considering.

Phrenai i'm kind of dreading it. going to university next year i was really excited until a couple of weeks before, then i got really nervous...then i was kinda indifferent until we got into the city, when i started to silently freak out xd
but, now, i'm fine. I have 9 flatmates, and we all went out to the GUU last night
EXPLANATION of my Uni's UNions: we have 2 *yay* , one of the is the Queen Margaret Union, which seems to be the more laid back, live Indie Bands...Nirvana played there before they were a huge success cool . The other is the Glasgow University Union, which seems to be the more clubby, dance music type place
I thought I'd like the QMU better but after last night I'm not too sure...we had a great time xd
