Chozi grinned as he moved along the shore, happily getting his paws wet in the prickling foam of the ocean. He was watching for shells, learning a little bit about the importance of things from watching some of the other lions. Really he wished someone would teach him but neither his mother nor his father new very much about the myths and customs of the pride.

His tail flicked back and forth and he had to squint as he looked up toward the sky, taking a deep breath of the salty air.

Tamba, despite his children having grown almost to adulthood now, seemed to be patrolling his beach more and more and these days. Whether it was because he had more to think about, or whether he was simply nostalgic for the early days, when his children were but cubs and these lands quiet. It wouldn't be long before they would all think about fashioning their own lives, and he dwelled, with some sadness, on whether he would still be a part of their lives.

He came to a shingled part of the beach and was about to go find a place to sit down when he noticed a small figure frolicking about in the shallows. It could be nothing other than a cub. But he couldn't spy any adults...

Tamba made his way over to Chozi, approaching him slowly and in a friendly manner.

Chozi was an intelligent little thing, as were his brothers and sister. They got it from his parents and he'd be happy to tell anyone who would listen... if they ever asked, anyhow. His tail flickered as his nostrils flared as it filled with a very unfamiliar scent. His icey blue eyes darted around until they landed on an adult he did not know. His playing slowed and while he wanted to run up to the stranger his mother had cautioned him of being too friendly.

After a moment he tottered somewhat closer. "Hello!" He called, the more curious of himself winning the battle of staying put and going forward.

Tamba smiled at the cub, watching as he was uncertain of approaching him. He looked so small...he could remember when his sons and daughters were that little, and it took all his restrain not to suddenly scoop Chozi up and carry him back to the den as if he were one of his own.

"Hullo little one. By yourself?" he asked, still a little concerned that he might be alone.

Chozi was simply delighted in the other's voice, deep and grown-up and respectable. It sounded nothing like his father... but he loved his father and enjoyed his father's voice anyways. This strangers voice though... it was much more lovely. And he enjoyed being called 'little one'. It was something his father called he and his siblings. He would just say 'little one' or 'little two' and then smile his awkward, crooked smile.

Chozi beamed up at the other. "Yes sir... mama and papa aren't far though." He said slowly. He was allowed to roam freely to a certain distance, his parents would check on he and his siblings every now and then. "What about you? Also by yourself?" Mimicking questions was much easier than thinking up new ones, he had learned.

Tamba chuckled at Chozi's copying of the question. Like trying to be all grown-up by copying an adult.

"I am today, but I have a family and pride over that way," he said softly and inclined his head over his shoulder back towards the shingled shores and rocky outcrops. "Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

"Oh... the pride on the ocean." He said slowly and slightly jealously. This was why his family lived here... his mother wanted to live in that pride. Well, he thought that was right anyways. "Is it a big pride?" He asked curiously, because he didn't know much about it.

"Oh yes!" He replied while nodding his head and smiling. "Two brothers and a sister!" He said, quite proudly. "I love them most." He meant all three, too. He had no favorite brother and he didn't show specially treatment toward his sister. He certainly wasn't embarrassed about loving his family.

"Yes, thats right...the pride on the ocean," he confirmed by repetition for Chozi, that hint of pride seeping into his voice. "And we are...growing. We're not too big yet, we'll always have room for new lions."

Feeling the cool water splash a bit at his paws, he moved around Chozi a bit further up to keep dry. He didn't feel like being 'blessed' by the waters today, at least not at the moment.

"And thats a nice family you've got. I've got a brother, a biiig lion he is," he said with reverie as if telling a story to his own cubs.

He splashed in the foam of the water while he watched the grown up move a bit away from the water. "I will tell my mommy and papa that!" He said, grinning at him. "Maybe they can meet you. Or the king.." His head tilted. "I dont know who runs the pride... is it your pride?" He did talk rather fondly of the land. But Chozi might talk that way to friends... well... if he had any. And if he was in the pride.

"I think they're nice. How big is he?" He asked, eyes wide as he imaged a giant lion, ten times the size of any real lion.

Tamba couldn't restrain his childish smirk. He almost enjoyed it when people didn't instantly see him as a kingly figure. The pride in him wanted every lion in these parts to instantly recognise him but it was still humbling in a sense.

"Yes, its my pride. I'm King Tambuzi," he said with a regal edge to his voice, obviously a bit dramatic, and nodded his head. "A pleasure to meet you..."

He'd continue the story of his brother after he learned this cubs name.

He gasped and simply squirmed with delight. He'd never met a king before! "Very nice to meet you King Tambuzi." He sounded out the name carefully and was very proud of his own manners. "My parents call me Chozi." He nodded, still gazing up at the adult in wonder. He wondered if his parents knew the kind?

He had other questions but kept his mouth quiet because he wanted the king to go on with his story!

"A pleasure to meet you Chozi," he beamed down at the youngster, totally smitten. It was always a wonderful experience to meet a youngster so enthused about life, so excited and just so happy.

"Now where was I...oh yes, my brother. Well, he's actually the same age as me, he was my litter-mate. But you wouldn't think it to look at him. He's a mountain of a lion but the nicest you could ever meet," he started, using that 'Im telling this to a child' voice.

He giggled and sat after a moment, getting comfortable. "I like nice lions." He admitted, and then thought about his siblings. "And I think I am smallest in my litter." He wasn't too sure though. He fell silent though, he didn't want to be rude after all!

Fedha'Kialio grunted as he slipped over the sandy area, keeping his eye out for any of the brood. Ausi had asked him to collect their children up, it was getting near time to eat and she wanted to hunt. He was actually wanting to teach Taba more about seerism but it would have to wait. He hadn't yet come into view of the king and his son though.

"Well, you know, there's nothing wrong with being the smallest in the litter," he continued. "I was the smallest out of me and my brother, but look how I turned out...I'm the King of a pride."

"You never know what your future might hold, and besides, the best things come in the smallest packages."

Fedha had finally come into view and his eyes narrowed as they landed on the stranger talking to his son. Aww, the arrogant fool did care for the safety of his cubs. After a moment he saw Chozi wasn't looking distressed or afraid... though Chozi was a little... like his mother in the area of meeting others. Fedha smiled faintly while thinking about Ausi, and then let his expression drop all together. Expressionless faces were the safest to wear in any type of situation, so he thought. "Chozi." He called, still walking to greet the pair. Tear. That is what Chozi's name meant... Fedha wondered why Ausi had chosen it.

"Maybe I can become a king one day too!" He giggled, taking the other's words to heart. His ears flicked and he looked to the left to see his father coming. His father... was not so great in comparison to the king. At least not in physical appearance. He was skinny and lanky and well... rather feminine. But that is what one got when one was raised by two mothers and zero fathers!

"Papa!" He exclaimed, wiggling but staying put. He looked up at the king. "Look it's my father!"
