Earth, a place that once was entrancing in its beauty, now seems dull. The humans, wonderful playthings and fascinating entertainment have become predictable. The gods grow bored and seek new entertainment by making new worlds and new species for them, but before they leave this world behind they will set up a new god, bound to earth, born from one of the humans.

Seven gods are chosen to decide the earth god. Knowing that it would cause troubles between one another the seven gods decide to set up a competition. Deciding on seven chosen to compete against one another to become the god of earth to do with it what it will. The gods sough out their chosen, blessing them with a godly tool in order to help them compete against one another.

~*The Competition*~

This was no ordinary competition by any sense of the word. Though the humans went about in their normal lives they would meet with their fellow god-chosen; some as friends, some as enemies, and others as strangers. There they would fight among one another using tools, skills, cunning and even their love. They path they chose were their own.

The tasks placed for them were firm.

One, the soul. Every time a god-chosen lost a battle a fragment of their soul was taken. In order to win the entire competition a god-chosen had to keep at least one fragment of their soul after every other god-chosen had lost all their soul fragments. Battles were not only physical battles, but also ones of wits or even of the heart. When a battle had been spoken between competitors their gods will appear to signify the beginning of the fight or trial.

Two, the bonds. Before a god-chosen can become a god they must break all ties to this earth, either through their own way or an outside force.

Three, the acceptance of the gods. Four out of the seven gods must find them worthy. Usually this means defeating their chosen, but defeat doesn’t mean through just gathering the soul fragments, but defeating their chosen in a way that impresses them-through mind, through the heart, through spirit.

But there is more that lies to this, who suggested the soul be the price and why? And where do the fragmented souls go? It looks like there is one god that has other plans that go far beyond what is being said.

~*The Rules*~

1. All Gaia TOS applies

2. Romance is encouraged, cyber is not. (nothing further than kissing and hugging)

3. No Godmodding, meaning no controlling other players. The battle system will be explained further-there will be 2 systems in place for different types of battle.

4. This is a literate RP, meaning no one liners. Posts have to be a minimum of 10-15 lines. There is no max length, lengthy is good, but even better is quality. All posts must be typed in narrative form, meaning no * * for actions. And "" for dialogue and italics for thoughts.

5. In order to prevent people from having to wade through pages just because they weren’t here for a day, a player is limited to 5 posts per day.

6. You have to post at least 3 times a week. Meaning that the week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday. If you will be gone on vacation or for whatever reason, please say so in the OOC (out of character) thread or PM me. When this happens please pull your character out of the scene they are in or put a note in OOC that your player can be used as a NPC (non-player character).

7. No bickering! If you have an issue with something PM me or politely mention it to the person in the OOC thread. Do not harass players or start in fighting.

8. Keep all OOC comments in the OOC thread. Nothing, I mean not even a short comment, should be in the game thread. Everything in the game thread should be in character. Anyone who doesn’t follow this rule will be given a warning and asked to make an edit. If they continuously ignore the rule I will kill off their character and ban them from the thread. I have no use for players that think they are above the rules.

9. Though this is a serious RP fantasy adventure, comedy is welcomed and even encouraged. Derogatory comments to any group are not.

10. No text over 12 font.

11. There is a limit of one character per person. More on character specific rules ahead.

12. Do not post until you've been accepted into the game.

13. The rules can be added to whenever I feel the need to.

~*Character Information*~

When making your character there are several things that must be noted:

1. Your character is human.

2. The game is set in modern times.

3. If they already have their god tool then it should have one very specific gift. This means the tool is able to do one thing and one thing only and it can’t be super powerful. If I ask you to change it or tone it down you do that. You can debate with me (through PM only), but once I decide do not argue with me.

4. No character has as of yet battled with any god-chosen, though they can have a previous history with them. Previous histories with other god-chosen are encouraged. Discuss it in OOC or through PMs and just let me know what has been decided.

5. Characters ages can be 13 and older, no younger.

6. You can plot among each other, even team together, but keep in mind every god-chosen knows that only one of them are going to win. Plotting like this has to be shown IC. So I welcome back stabbing and the such. The only teaming up not allowed are physical/magical battles. Those battles are strictly one-on-one.

7. OOC knowledge doesn’t equal IC knowledge. Meaning that if one player is plotting against yours then you can’t somehow miraculous figure it out. This doesn’t mean you can’t defend your character but make sure to keep it IC.

8. Keep it fair. Meaning that don’t use OOC grudges or the like effect IC gameplay. This is supposed to be fun. Anyone suspected breaking this rule will be dealt with.

9. Though characters can be from anywhere they should all start off in the same location-Toronto, Canada. How they end up there can be strange, but no magical transporting.

10. All character profiles must be PMed to me with ‘fragment’ in the title, though discussion or changes to the profile can be mention/suggested in OOC.

~*The Soul Fragments*~

Soul fragments are probably one of the more important parts of the game. Each player starts out with 24 fragments and 1 fragment in their tool. The Tool is bounded to the character so can not be taken away unless it is their very last fragment. A player can willingly give up their tool to turn it into a fragment. If all 24 fragments are taken from a player they either turn their tool into a fragment or forfeit. If forfeiting or if you loose the final fragment I will PM you with something that happens to your character.

A fragment can be lost by if you loose a battle or trial. How this works will be discussed in the battle section.

You can also trade in fragments for an increase of power. Just be careful in how you bargain them. To trade in a shard for more power the character petitions their god for it IC. Depending on your posting and the quality I will IC show your god appearing to answer you. The rest is discussed through PM. In a PM you state the power, skill, ability your character wants and how many shards you’re offering for it. I can decide to refuse or allow you what you wish. When this happens I will list the new ability in your character sheet and write down the current base hit points and shards you have left.

Also should your character die, and only I and the player can decide if they die, you can use a fragment to have your character revived. This is to prevent characters from being played unrealistically, or as unrealistically as a fantasy game can get. This is to say, your character isn’t immortal, if they get a sword through their stomach, they’re pretty much dead. I love anime and all, but a hole in your gut equals dead.

As previously stated, the goal is to have at least one fragment remaining, loose all earthly bounds and gain the approval of four of the gods. Once a fragment is lost you can’t regain it.

Characters Fragment Count and Hit Points

Ariana (Vy): Hit points-30; Fragments- 24; Tools-Watch (+1 Damage)

Marcus (Fitz): Hit points-30; Fragment-24; Tools-Rapier (+1 Damage)

Timothy (smartplayer): Hit points-30; Fragment-24; Tools-Air gun (+1 Damage)

Koji (Kendoson): Hit points-30; Fragment-24; Tools-Longbow (+1 Damage)

Aimi (Elesarin): Hit points-30; Fragment-24; Tools-Amulet (+1 Damage)

Luke (Takerucoh): Hit Points-32; Fragment-24; Tools-Boots (+1 Damage)

Anthony (Thaesimir): Hit Points-33; Fragment-23; Tools- War Hammer (+1 Damage)

~*Battle System*~

Dice Battle:
There are two battle systems for the game. The first is the one that determine the outcome of physical and magical battles.

Characters start off with 30 hit points and through the use of the dice system land hits or not. All posts have to be good quality as well. As earlier stated shards can be turned in for better powers that increase hit and damage points, also being able to keep your shards while remaining in an active status will sometimes give you a bonus.

A battle lost will loose you a soul fragment, but participating in a battle can help to increase hit points. If you loose and I decide to increase your hit points it is because I felt you played the character well. The same goes for the winner. Just because you won doesn’t mean I will increase your hit points.

Your weapon/power does damage depending on how many fragments were sacrificed in its creation + 1. Therefore the tool each player starts off with it 1 fragment+1= 2 damage. Hand to hand (not amplified by fragment deal) 0 fragment+1=1 damage.

Odd number =hit, even number =miss

Use only 1 dice.

When you battle the poster states what they try to do and put their hit points at the bottom of their post. The Gaia dice shows after the person has posted, therefore the next poster responds, and depending on the what the decide ends up with shows the character being hit by the attack and then their damage as well as what they do, and so on until one person either forfeits one of their shards or goes down to 0. If you go down to 0 or a negative number, you die and must use a shard to revive plus give up a shard.

After that each post regains you 5 hit points (make sure to put this on the bottom) until you have regained all your hit points.

Until a person regains their hit points after a fight they don’t have to fight. A player is allowed to refuse a fight 3 times. Put at the bottom of the post ‘refusal’. The fourth time they have to participate in the fight. All 3 fight requests can not come from the same person in a row.

e.g. Conner charges Sharon to battle. Sharon says no. Bobby asks Sharon to fight. Sharon refuses, Mike asks to fight, Sharon refuses. Tom asks, Sharon has to either accept or forfeit the shard to Tom.

It seems like a lot of chances to say no, but every time this person refuses that means they are loosing the opportunity to get stronger, so meaning that players around them will be getting stronger while Sharon stays weak therefore eventually when Sharon has to accept a fight she might be at a disadvantage. This is to help keep players in a situation where they don't have to always fight but also doesn's prevent other players from developing.

What isn't allowed is this,

e.g. Conner asks Sharon to fight. Sharon says no. Conner again asks Sharon to fight. Sharon says no.

A person isn't allowed to ask in a row for the same person that refused them to fight. So Conner can't keep asking Sharon to fight until they get to the fourth try where she has to fight him.

He can ask again after she has already refused someone else.

e.g. Conner asks Sharon to fight., Sharon says no. Tom asks and Sharon says no. Conner can then ask again.

I will of course regulate this since, this does lend to two people teaming up on a person, but also hey, that is part of the game. If there is a complaint people are always welcome to PM me and I will look into the situation.

Also a refusal IC and a refusal OOC are two different things. The person at the bottom of their post types in all Caps,

CONNER VS. SHARON (then either DICE or POST QUALITY)

The person this is directed to types ACCEPTANCE or REFUSAL

The reason for this is so that in the post a person can still play their character the way they would react such as saying no or being reluctant though they still plan to fight.

On a side note- if a person chooses POST QUALITY please discuss in the OOC not the game section, who will judge the fight, before the person Accepts. When Accepting a Post Quality fight the person accepting puts up

ACCEPTANCE-JUDGE: (who ever judges; remember that I will always judge a fight when asked, but other people don't have to if they don't want to)

***

Non-Dice Battle:

To determine if a plot works and battle of wits or heart.

This is a battle that is purely dependent on post quality. The players agree before hand in the OOC section that it will be based on quality (not quantity) and can request me or one of the other players to judge it for them. Before the battle begins this must be decided on. And to show this the first battle posts must both have ‘Judged By (person who has to agree to judge it)’ I will always be available to judge these battles. Once a person is picked and agreed upon by both participants then what that person judges is final. So no harassing the judge afterwards or arguing your case; any harassment will lead to a band from the game.

Remember, if you decide to cut the fight short by having it end the person who decides to forfeit please state so at the end of your post.-FORFEIT

Whoever types FORFEIT is the loser and loses a shard. If you fight until one of you goes to 0 the person then dies and gives up 1 shard for losing and 1 to be brought back to life.

***

Though it states which system should be used for what type of battle/trial you are free to use either system as long as agreed by all players involved. Remember, physical/magical battles are only allowed 2 players, while plots and other trials can have more than one player.

To clarify what trials can be here are some examples: baking contest, bravery, one of the heart, beauty and anything else, even a contest of insults.

Plots are things like stealing, manipulating a person or whatnot. Have fun with it!

~*God-Chosen*~

Name: Ariana Bethany Bridges
Age: 24
Appearance:
User Image
She's 5'7 with dark bronze skin from her African-American heritage. She has cheekbones and a slightly pointed face, smooth skin. Her eyes are almond shape and dark brown. Her hair is black and goes to her shoulder blades. She usually wears it down or in two french braids. She has a toned figure, her arms more muscular than she would like, but she makes up with a curvy figure. She's hippy and no amount of dieting seems to change that.

Her fashion sense is mediocre, she likes to wear whatever is comfortable, so she is usually frumpy though she does have a few outfits for special occassions. She switches up between contacts or glasses, and everything is a blurry without them.

History: Life spun around Ariana, since her birth in the US at a small hospital in Pennsylvania she has been constantly on the move. Her father was a military man and her family was constantly moved to different places. She lived in Germany and Costa Rico as well as several places in the US. Because of this whenever she made friends she would end up loosing them right away. Wanting to have a 'best friend forever' relationship or even a steady boyfriend, when she got older, seemed nearly impossible.

When she was eighteen she went away for college, leaving behind her a sister and brother, and decided to make a life she could be stable in. Unfortunately that didn't work out as well as she wanted. She easily got bored with things, had a hard time trying to connect with people because she always thought that they were temporary, and realized that she liked moving and traveling.

When she graduated with her BA in Fine Arts, focusing on drawing and painting she worked for a library, but found herself itching to move after 6 months there, but she was afraid too, worrying about what would happen, thinking over all the 'what ifs', it wasn't until a year later that things changed. Suddenly she was pulled into a world beyond anything she had ever seen before. A world of magic. After talking with a strange man at a bus stop she was handed a silver wristwatch, nothing fancy but definitely quality. It was off, by one minute, when readjusting it she found herself back in time one minute. After that things changed dramatically.

She quit her job and hired on as at a temp agency, and just took on assignments. Eventually she moved to Toronto when she won a grant at a artist colony, where she currently resides on a working permit.

Personality: Ariana is a person that enjoys living for today. She wants to always be moving forward, to experience all the things life can give her. Unfortunately she's a person who can't help thinking about everything, tons of what-ifs that by the time she moves to practice her 'live for the moment' philosophy the moment has already passed.

Because of what she has seen, she has a stronger appreciation for time and people. She has seen what can be changed in under a minute, how a different course, a simple decision, could be everything that counts. It makes her cautious and always aware of her actions and how they might affect people.

She's a tad sensitive as well. Easily effected by her actions on others and how they might as feel, which is very hard since she has a temper. She is easy to anger and is constantly having to either hold back or relive moments to make things up. She has a tendency to feel sort of on edge a lot and finds it hard to make friends because of it.

Tool: Wristwatch-lets her relive 60 seconds of her life, but only once in a 24 hour period.

Name: Marcus Andretti
Age: 23
Appearance:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
He has longer, dark hair, caucasian, stands around 5'10. He often has a slight amount of stubble. Andretti usually dresses in casual clothes, just a t-shirt, jeans, and a pair of converse. Usually seen carrying a messenger bag.

History: Marcus Andretti was born in the winter of '84 to a suburban home. He was an only child, and as such, never developed the need for other's company. He got through high school just fine, and then ended up going to college, majoring in creative writing. By that time, he prefered to go by his last name.

Leaving college, Andretti started writing, getting published by local magazines and newspapers. While he prefered to write stories, he would often write some music reviews to make money. A year later, he got his first novel published, a horror story called The Trials of Death.

A couple months later, a big shot from a publishing company in Toronto called Andretti, saying they wanted to talk to him about making a huge deal for upcoming novels. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity for an all-expense trip to Toronto- not to mention a chance to land a huge deal- Andretti got the ticket in the mail the next day and flew over, hoping that it would work out.

After landing in Toronto, Andretti met a strange man dressed in a white suit. The man approached Andretti and said, "You will know what to do." Handing Andretti an old-fashioned rapier, the man in white hurried away, moving onto his next objective. Not sure what to do with it, Andretti just kept the rapier, which no one else seemed to notice.

Personality: Andretti tends to be rather reserved, but once someone has earned his loyalty, he's with them to the end. Like with his friendships, once Andretti gets involved in something, he becomes very passionate about it, devoting all his time and energy to it.

As he is a writer, Andretti is very, very creative. His macabre novelizations are often his way of looking at the world; filled with death, but able to be changed or harnessed if you're strong enough. He also has a knack for riddles and puzzles.

Even though he was an only-child in a suburban household, Andretti was never spoiled as a kid. He always had to work for what he had, even going as far as paying his own way through college. After college, Andretti took a good portion of the money he made and invested it, making a huge profit. However, Andretti is not a greedy person; he's actually very giving. Even though he's reserved around people, he often gives to charities. He just sees money as a means to the end, not the end itself.

Tool: A rapier. This rapier can be rendered invisible to all but Andretti, and unbeknownst to Andretti, it can make him invisible as well, provided he doesn't move.

Name: Timothy Gale Shoosman
Age: 21
Appearance:
Timothy stands at 5'7" with a lean body. He has soft brown hair that he parts to the left when he actually feels like parting his hair. He also has deep emerald green eyes. He has one scar on his body and it's on his left hand. The scar goes from the tip of his ring finger all the way down to his wrist. It is mostly unnoticeable unless closely inspected. He has smaller arms, but they are not at all skinny. He is built in most places, and he tends to show it off when in the right situations.

He tends to wear tight t-shirts with a pair of nice jeans. He will wear a polo if the occasion arises. He tries to avoid any case where he would have to wear a suit. He doesn't really ever wear any shorts either.

History: Timothy grew up in the United States in a little mostly unknown state called Arkansas. He had few friends growing up, but he did excel in one odd sport at the school. He was a cheerleader for his school. This of course made him the butt of many jokes, but he knew that it didn't matter what any of those people said about him. This ability and his simple knack for math obtained him a complete ride at the University of Kentucky. He went and attended school there to obtain a Master's in Mathematics.

He had grown up in his family with his father, mother and little brother. Even his brother made fun of him at times for the cheerleading, because his brother was on the football team, and therefore would be teased by the other football players for having a cheerleader for a brother. His parents loved that he was able to excel so nicely at the things that he loved. His father was a computer engineer and his mother had her own business making outfits and quilts for people. She also substituted at the highschool when she could.

He didn't return home after college. He moved to New York and took a teaching job at one of the local colleges. He continued his research in mathematics all the time.

One day he was walking along through Battery Park in New York. One of the peddlers walked directly up to him as if he was on a mission. He asked Timothy if he would like to purchase a very intesting gun. The man said that it wouldn't shoot bullets. Timothy had no need for a gun, but the man refused to leave him without taking the gun. Timothy obliged the man's request and took it with him. Timothy later found out the true power of the gun on the way home that night.

He was walking down the street and a man was beating another man in a back alley. Timothy having the gun thought that he could scare the guy away. The guy turned on Timothy and rushed directly at him. Timothy saw a knife in the guy's hand and this freaked him out. He instinctively pulled the trigger, completely afraid of this man. The gun shook and the guy fell to the ground. Timothy knew that it was no bullet, but he took off away from the scene. He didn't know what happened to the man, and he hope to never find out.

Timothy kind of experimented with the gun to find out what it could really do.

Personality: Timothy tends to be outgoing and loves to get into a deep conversation with some people. This doesn't stop him from being reclusive though. Sometimes, for reasons the he isn't even quite sure of, he just likes to sit and be alone for awhile. He doesn't do this very often though. Most of the time he is in the center of attention.

He tends to think everything he does through at least once. He doesn't like surprises very much, especially if they interfere with what he is doing. He knows that this can hender his realationships, but he likes to know everything that is going to happen to him. This way he can plan on things that are happening.

Tool: Air Gun. The gun fires pure air from the barrel instead of bullets. The gun looks like a regular pistol. The amount of air and the pressure at which it comes out can be changed completely based on what Timothy wants to fire from it. This is limited thought by physics though. The gun can range from shooting a steady stream for an amount of time, which could be used to push, or it can shoot one air "bullet". (This "bullet" of air could only be used one every four of five posts though. It takes awhile for the ability to rise back up. This limits the strength of the attacking ability.)
God: God of Wind.

Name: Koji Hinata
Age: 18
Appearance:
User Image
He’s 5’8 with short, black hair that’s rarely combed. Toned body, lean with well-defined muscles. He has clean features that are strongly chiseled but almost delicate. His eyes are slightly narrow and violet in color. He wears only black or dark clothes.

History: After losing his parent at age 15, Koji lived alone on the streets in Toronto. Cautious about giving his trust and friendship to others he survived by his own wits. At age 17, he stole a guitar from a music shop and taught himself how to play.

Things got easier for him after that. He honed his music skills on the street, playing for change before hitting bars and nightclubs. One night, as he was walking home after finishing his gig at a local dive, a man dressed in a black trench coat appeared from out of the shadows and stopped him.

The man stared at him in silence for a few minutes before reaching into his coat and retrieving an object Koji couldn’t see. “Keep this close for your life depends on it. The Wheels of Fate are turning swiftly. Be ready.” Before Koji could say anything, the man stepped back into the shadows and vanished.

The object turned out to be a sort of handgrip. Gripping it tightly Koji held his arm out before him and suddenly two beams of silver light shot out from both its sides, transforming it into a longbow. Afraid someone would see it he wished for someway to hide it. No sooner did the though form in his mind, the light beams blinked out, leaving only a handgrip. Awed and a little shaken, Koji pocketed the weapon and hurried home.

Personality: Cautious about giving his trust and friendship to others, Koji quietly observes a person for several days before deciding to talk to him or her. A bit of a loaner, he isn’t very talkative and tends to lead by example. Music comes easy to him. He needs only to hear a song once and he’ll be able to play it almost perfect.

Tool: Longbow. Besides normal arrows, it’s able to fire rays of light that causes the target to fall asleep for 10 minutes though it’s limited to only 5 rays of light a day.

Name: Aimi Evelyn Miyagi
Age: 18
Appearance: Aimi is 5'6 and 3/4, and if you forget to add in the 3/4, she will remind you. She's built like a dancer, and for good reason. Her skin is smooth, pale, and burns easily; she has brown, straight hair that stops about six inches past her shoulders, although she rarely wears it down. Her face is heart-shaped, with a small, sharp chin and high cheek bones. She's not particularly Japanese-looking, with the exception of her eyes, which are grey and more almond shaped than most Anglo's are.

She enjoys dressing up in outrageous colors, even ones that look horrible on her, and is always wearing at least one piece of bizarre jewelry. She tends to stick objects into her updo and forget about them, mostly paintbrushes and pencils.

History: Aimi was born into a wealthy family in Denver, Colorado. Her father was a major partner in a large law firm, and her mother was an up-and-coming fashion designer. As an only child with two very busy parents, Aimi was left largely to her own devices. She picked out her own clothes, toys, activities, and playmates. Unlike most small children, she didn't need any validation from any adults. She knew exactly who she was from extraordinarily young age.

When Aimi was ten, her parents were killed in a 15 car pile-up, and the fairytale ended abruptly. She was sent to live with her paternal grandparents, who were very strict, and very Japanese. Suddenly, all the freedom she'd had was gone, replaced with rigid discipline and the expectation of obedience. Aimi knew that she couldn't do anything about it at that point, so she kept quiet and did as she was told, getting perfect grades and graduating at 16. She was accepted into Harvard Law, and went there as per her grandparents' wishes.

At least, she said she was going there. Instead, Aimi used what money she'd saved up to move to Portland, Organ, and spent what was left of her childhood spontaneously living and working odd jobs all around the country. As soon as she turned 18, she moved to Toronto, Canada. She had no trouble getting a job in a large gallery, and worked there for about a month before deciding that even that was too boring. She quit to take a spur of the moment trip around Europe, but ended up getting stranded there when her money ran out, and had to work as a waitress in Amsterdam for a good three months.

One Friday evening, as she walked into her little flat, it suddenly occurred to her that she had enough money for a plane ticket home. Several breathless minutes later, she had stuffed everything into a cab, and was getting ready to leave. Just then, she spotted a very oddly dressed man standing close by. Anyone else probably would have nervously asked the driver to get going, but Aimi was immediately struck with the desire to sketch him. She got out, deaf to the driver's grumbling, and asked the man if he would mind if she took his picture, so she could draw him later.

The man looked up and smiled. "I'm afraid I'm a bit busy, but..." He looked her over, and his smile broadened. "Yes, you're absolutely perfect. Here you are, child." He tossed her something shiny, and she caught it. "Mind you don't lose it." Aimi looked at the object, confused. It was a necklace, with a strange stone in it that changed colors even as she looked at it. When she looked back up, the man was gone.

An hour later, she was on the flight to Toronto, and had all but forgotten the incident.

Personality: Aimi is spontaneous and lively, but is also extremely intelligent, though she doesn't see herself that way. Her art is her life, but she also sees life as an art, and she thinks it's only worthwhile art if you can't predict what will happen next. She loves to move, be it running, modern dance, or doing cartwheels, but just as often she's happy to sit and be.

Being cooped up in a house with her grandparents for seven years has given her little patience for being patient; in her mind, she's waited for long enough. Even in her art, if it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, she'll abandon it without a second thought. She can be hard to anger, or easy to anger; similarly, if she's already angry at someone, she could forget about it within five minutes or stay mad for months. She is, in a word, unpredictable.

Tool: The Amulet of Chaos- When used, it causes chance and chaos to work in the favor of the wearer. Unfortunately, if it's power is used more than twice per day, Chance also starts throwing increasingly nasty surprises at the wearer.

Name: Luke Heart
Age: 17
Appearance:
User Image
Luke has olive skin with dark, almost black hair. He has Blue eyes and is 5'6" tall. Luke wears a black loose T-shirt with a casual blue vest and baggy jeans. On his feet are a pair of dark blue boots.

History: Luke grew up in a middle class family in a lakeside town in Virginia. Most of his life he had spent playing video games or writing RPs online, always wanting to do something spectacular. His friends often laughed at his ideas that there was something more out there, so mostly he kept them to himself.

One day on his way home from school, a freak snow storm hit his home town. Lost in snow blindness, Luke wandered for hours unable to find the path. At the moment the boy felt he would die of frost bite, he noticed an odd light in the distance. In soggy sneakers, Luke made a dash for it and found a small wooden cottage. He knocked on the door and was welcomed inside by an elderly woman.

There he waited out the storm by the woman's warm fire. When the skies finally cleared, the elder instructed the boy on a path back to the main road and imparted with him a pair of boots to replace his soaked sneakers.

The next day when the roads were cleared, the boy attempted to return the boots only to find that the cottage was not where he remembered. He searched for hours, but to no avail. He malingered his way home, kicking through the snow until finally hitting the road. As his foot struck the pavement, it was covered in a thin sheet of ice which the boy immediately slipped in, 'I could have warn this road was salted down,' he thought as he stared at the black ice.

Personality: Since he was young, Luke had always been easily excitable when it came to playing adventure games. Real life adventures were no different. This youthful enthusiasm has always made him seem much younger then he is.

Even still, the boy has always had a sharp mind. He is always thinking more then four steps ahead of what most people would find necessary making him fairly difficult to fool, despite the naive air about him.

Tool: Ice Boots, These boots allow the wearer to freeze those they kick for up to fifteen minutes in normal weather. The person will not die and can not however be attacked until they are free from the ice. He may use this technique four times on a normal day, 5 times when it is cold.
God: God of Ice

Soon, his dream came true, and as the sport rose in popularity, so did he. Eventually he became the MMA champion.

~*Innocent Bystanders*~

Name: Thrynnic "Ryn" Kal-(AKA-"The Informer")
Age: 17
Appearance:
Ryn is approximately 5'7" tall, weighing in at about 110 pounds, and is exceedingly pale skinned. He has long, muddy blond hair, which hangs to his neck in the back, and creates a sort of halo around his face, semi covering his cold grey eyes. He almost always wears jeans, and a black t-shirt, and always wears a crimson colored, leather jacket.

History: Ryn was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on May 10th, 1987, to a somewhat rich family. His life, up until he was 13, was rather normal, despite traveling across a large portion of North America. However, on April 5th 2000, when he was waiting for the arrival of his parents, at the airport in Detroit, news came across the radio, of a plane crash.

The plane that crashed, was the 101, the flight that his parents had been on. Survivors: 0. After that, Ryn was an orphan, in Detroit, with no money, or funds to get back, his parents having no will, and his extended family thinking he died along with his parents. Living on the streets, he quickly learned how to be undetected, and unnoticed. After witnessing several violent crimes in 2002, and reporting them to the DPD, he became a "Informer" for the DPD, and has since served them by reporting on anything, and everything illegal going on in the Detroit underground.

Recently, the DPD found out about a drug smuggling operation between Detroit and Toronto, and asked him to go to Toronto, and find out all he could about it. He agreed, under one condition, which was that for once, he got to live in a hotel. They agreed.

Personality: Ryn is a rather secretive and untrusting person. His past has made him cold to most people around him, and he hands out glares like some people hand out spare change. As an old proverb says, "Our eyes are windows to our souls" and his are no different, showing only a coldness and hardness, that one might expect from someone who has spent years in prison.

Though he is in many way's enigmatic, Ryn is known for a streak of kindness, which has gotten him into extreme trouble. If someone he has met, or knows, and likes, is in danger, he will often try to help them, even if it puts him, or his position, in trouble.

Ryn is also known to be exceedingly inquisitive, which is what got him his current job. Probably his favorite thing to do, is find out things he is not supposed to know. This is quite often a cause for trouble, and his knack for finding things out, is often the largest cause of his personal problems, and future plans.

FAQ

Q: Is this RP turn based? Like if I post something do I have to wait until someone else posts before posting again?
A: It is only turn based when fighting, otherwise you don't have to wait for anyone else you and the people you interact with agree to. All paces are welcome as like as each player posts 3 times a week. With that said, just use your best judgment.

Q: Do the gods visit and interact with their chosen people?
A: Yuppers. They do interact with their chosen and visit them. The players can also NPC their respective gods, but not at this point. I'll be putting up new info about controlling the gods since I don't want people going wild with them.

Q: Are there any bad guys in this story?
A: Bad guys *grins and rubs hands together* That's tricky. In a way, you guys are each others bad guys since you'll be fighting against one another. Also there is another bad guy-one of the gods actually and anyone he might send to screw with you guys, though his interactions are not going to be prominent in the beginning.

Q: Do the chosen people just go about their normal lives, as if nothing happened until meeting another chosen?
A: Actually that's all up to the player. The character is limited to their tool, so beside their tool, they are human and are therefore subject to human laws and limitations. This changes as the game goes, but starting off that's their state. Now how they interact in that state is all up to what you want to do with your character. e.g. if your character does to go all vigilante with his tool, just remember the consequences and that he's still human.

Q: Besides the tool can the chosen people have any other power?
A: Any other powers that the chosen get are through petitioning their god, and in return they have to sacrifice soul fragments. So starting off they have no powers besides their tool. As the game progress they can petition their god for more power.

When you want to make a petition you PM me with petition, what power you want and the amount of fragments you are willing to sacrifice for it. I'll tell you yes or no, and then you or I can NPC the god coming down. Remember the gods are fickle so they might not answer just because they're being fickle. If I say no or yes though in PM, I'll give you a reason.

Welcome Smartplayer and Kendoson! You can start posting whenever you want.

Three more god chosen (hopefully at least one more female character) and I am acceptings apps for innocent bystanders too!

I am open to considersupernatural characters, but ony for a damn good reason, so if you submit one please remember that it is a slim chance of acceptance for such a character unless you can make it intricate to the plot.
