 Why, oh why did the area she'd chosen to wander in lately have to be so darned hot? Fiyali had been debating this question for a few days now, even as she went along from watering hole to watering hole - more of her day focused on finding water than on finding food. She knew better than to stay in one place for too long ... there were larger predators about who might take offense to such. Like lions. She had never met one of those, and she wasn't sure that she really wanted to.
Today was another hot day (as per usual) and the wild dog was at least grateful that her fur was mostly light-colored, as she padded toward yet another tiny trickle of a stream. She could smell the water on the hot breeze blowing toward her, and for the moment that was all she was concentrating on.

 Kousai slowly padded through the Rogue Lands with a small grin on his face. Earlier in the day he had run into his sister for the first time in years, and had been glad to see she was doing well. His fur was still a little damp from their water fight, but the heat from the sun was quickly starting to dry him off and even start to tire him out.
I need to find somewhere to rest, he thought as he trudged forward, eager to find a shelter of some kind. His ears perked up when he heard the slight sound of water and quickly walked towards it, only to stop in his tracks when he saw another figure approaching the same thing. Not sure of what to do, he decided to wait and see what the other would do first, before making a move of his own.

Just as she reached the water, Fiyali caught movement at the edge of her vision and tensed slightly, looking up. Oh ... it was another wild dog ... and a male, at that. Turning to face him a little more, she smiled and nodded her head a bit.
The little stream she'd found was large enough to share, after all ... and it didn't really occur to her that the other might be dangerous in any way.

He kept a careful watch of the other, noticing it was another wild dog like himself. I’ve sure been running into a bunch of my kind today. Is this where they’re all hiding at? he thought. Maybe it’s more of my kin. The girl sure looks like she could be one of my sisters, but I cant figure out which one she could be.
The nod caught his attention and he looked up, abandoning his thoughts for the moment. He saw her beautiful smile and found himself smiling back, figuring that meant it was alright to approach the stream. Kousai carefully padded closer and stopped at the edge of the stream, dipping his head down for a quick drink. He wanted to say something to the girl, find out if they were related, but didn’t know how he should ask.

Fiyali also took a little drink and then watched the male with her head tilted over to one side a little, blinking. He seemed kind of shy ... hadn't even said anything to her yet. So ... guess it was up to her to start conversation. "Hello," she said quietly, sitting down to watch him.

Kousai's head jerked up and turned to look at the female, he hadn't expected her to say anything to him. Raising a paw to wipe the water from his chin, he contemplated what he should do, figuring a hello back would be nice for starters. "Hello," he gave a nervous smile as he took a seat beside her. "The name's Kousai, do we know each other? You look somewhat familiar..."

Fiyali frowned slightly at that question - thinking. "Hmm ... I don't think so. I'm Fiyali'Kianga, though, if that helps." Who knew, maybe they had seen each other at some point and didn't remember?
Kousai did look an awful like her, somehow...

He thought for a second, but knew the name didn't fit with any of his sisters. Except it was kinda hard to remember them all since he had been born into a huge liter of pups. "No, I don't think we've met then. You still look familiar to me though." He paused, thinking of what to say to keep the conversation going. "Fiyali'Kianga, right? That's a pretty name. Does it have a special meaning?"

Fiyali blinked at that, and thought about the question for a moment or two. "Uhm. Actually, I think it does, but I can't remember right now," she said, flushing slightly. And rather wishing it didn't show up so well against her light fur.
"You ... look familiar too, sort of. Almost like one of my siblings ... but not quite." Change the subject, yea, that was good...
((Sorry I'm so slow! Midterms eating me alive D: ))

(Dont worry about it, I understand. RL gets busy sometimes.)
Kousai gave a small smile at her reaction. He noticed how she had changed the subject and decided he'd let her get away with it, for now. "I agree, we do look like siblings," he nodded in agreement. "That was what I had originally thought you were since I have so many siblings that it's hard to remember them all."

At that, Fiyali tilted her head a little bit, blinking at the other. "You have a lot of siblings ..? Were you looking for them?" Something about his manner seemed to indicate that, though ... she wasn't entirely sure how she knew.

(Im so sorry for not replying in a week crying )
His smile turned into a full-fledged grin as he gave a small chuckle. "A lot? More like too many to count. I don't even remember how many of us there are anymore." He paused, thinking about how to reply to her next question. He wasn't even sure himself of the answer. "It wasn't my original intention...to look for my siblings. I was just out wandering at usual when I happened to run into Leini this morning. I didn't know who she was at first, but we eventually figured it out and got around to talking. I was surprised to find out she was pregnant and it kind of made me curious to see how the others were doing. So when I saw you sitting here, I thought that perhaps you were another one of my kin..." he dropped his head to look at the ground, embarassed that he admited to thinking that. "Sorry about that."

Fiyali listened to the male talk for a few minutes and then nodded. "Ooh, I see," she replied with another little nod of her head. "And it's ok, I can understand why you might think so." With a kind of lopsided smile, she admitted to herself that if she hadn't known better, she would think Kousai was related to her in some way herself.

"Really?" he asked, a small smile on his face. "I thought that you'd think I was crazy, but I'm glad you see it my way." Not wanting to keep on this subject and possibly embarass himself further, he decided to change the subject. "Enough about me," he smiled, "I'd like to hear more about you. What have you been up to? If you don't mind me asking...."

"Oh ... mostly just wandering, here and there," Fiyali answered easily, tail wagging back and forth a bit.
Even if Kousai wasn't related to her or anything, he seemed friendly and she liked having a bit of company for once.
But then, Fiyali remembered that she had planned to do a few things today, and glanced up at the sky. "Ah... but I'm sorry, I must be going now. Perhaps I'll see you later!" she called, then turned and bounded off.
